We have owned ours for over 2 years and I have a degree in automotive technology so the mechanics of it are good to go but I was wondering more about resonance and panel rattle.

Im thinking about doing a system in our 03 Explorer and wated some input on what issues you have ran into with these. I bought my wife a 2012 Cruze so now the explorer is sitting and Im biting at the bit to do something with it lol. It is up for sale right now but if it doesnt sell soon Im going to start doing something with it. Anyways share all input with these vehicles. Oh and Im still working on the mustang as well

They need to do what Rockford did and bring back the original engineers/designers of the old school stuff. It wont be an instant gratification but at least they could start working back to what they used to be.

I have posted a few times for direction and info and such and figured I would make a build log just to keep up wih whats going on with the car. Right now the car is more performance than audio but Im soon to even it out haha Right now I am running 2 Kappa VDQ12s off a Punch Power 500a2 (black and grind) My projected plans so far consist of: 3 SA8 1 SAX1000D As of right now I havent set in stone what Im going to run for highs nor what deck I will use. The Head unit I have now is a nice older kenwood but I think I may step it up to something newer. What would you suggest for enclosure, slot or traditional round ports? Also rear firing or down firing?

Id like to stick to the 8s. I have 2 kappa perfect 12 VQ in the there now running off of a Rockford Fosgate Power 500a2 (black and grind series) and I like them but i wanna change it up a little and have heard great things about the SA8s and what they can actually do.

Hmmm so 3 SA8s and a single SD SAX1000D? If theyre 400 rms then i dont think theres enough power out of that 1 amp for all of them. I have already started with the spare tire well. Cut the shape of the OEM cover out of 3/4 MDF and cut all the spare securing bracing out making room for the amp rack. Its a cell phone pic so dont mind please lol

Well I decided 2 ought to be enough for me. My goal is to have something I can listen to on a daily basis yet still get loud with. I dont compete or anything (but would like to get back into it). The car I am using for this is a 1995 Mustang GT. I have the whole trunk (rear seat HAS to be kept and useable for the kids) Im planning the amp rack in the spare tire well and sub box will be rear or down firing and ported (still have yet to choose slot or normal port) I wont be using any rear speakers so its from floor to shelf for space.

Ok plans changed and I think Im going back to 2 SA8 D4s with an SAX1000D and add another SAX1000D soon after

I am currently getting ready to purchase equipment for my new setup. I have decided to utilize 3 SA8s and need to know what everyone would suggest for an amp. Not sure on whether Im going d2 or d4 yet so give suggestions based on both coils please.

What all vehicles were in your booth Randal? I looked at every vehicle there lol. There were a few I was disappointed with though.

I was there! Amazing installs and looked like some of the cars were putting out good numbers. I was kind of disappointed with some of the vehicles though because with their installs their numbers should have been a lot more impressive but great job anyways everyone.

Thanks that helps a lot. I will make a rough sketch of what Im planning and post it up here. As for power they will be powered by my Power 500a2 for the time being. But I will up the power shortly after.
