  1. I put some on the metal piece and all around the outside. I gotta figure out how to get the metal panel off then I'll get some pics up!
  2. ttt anybody interested?? Make me an offer!
  3. Thanks man, ill do that.
  4. So I just popped off the door panel for the front right door of my fusion and I realized that there is a metal piece that covers the actual inside door part. Should I take off the metal piece and do the inside door or should I just put it around where you can see in the pic. I'm using the SDS CLD tiles now and possibly later doing the other 2. Just want to do what's best. Thanks!
  5. For the single 15, SSA recommends the biggest 5ft3. This will compensate for the low power you will have. I'd say get two amps, because your sub is a dual 2 ohm. Two dual 2 ohms wire to either .5ohm and 2ohms. I dont think .5ohms is good when used for daily so your only other option is 2 ohms. Unless you get a one big amp and have it put out 3-5k rms then that's stupid. Having two amps each at 1 ohm strapped together will become 2 ohms. Go with two amps!
  6. Hey for a 6.5" component set, how about the new Crescendo ones? They are on presale until Dec. 21st. Maybe the Mezzo set which is 189+shipping. Then after the 21st it jumps up to 250+shipping. I don't know anything about the speakers, but let's say they're good and you like them, well you just got some good speakers for less than what you would pay. On the other hand, if you don't like them, you can sell them for the same price as you got them or maybe even a little more since you bought them during pre-sale. Just something to consider Oh btw I bought the Mezzo series components! Here's the website for them. http://store.crescendoaudio.com/component-speaker-systems/
  7. That's how I am too! I hate having to wait and the sub I really really want takes about a month too be made and shipped lol but I know it'll be worth it for the SSA subs
  8. Are you good with tools and wood working? You could build yourself a custom ported box for 50 or less. You can have someone design a box for you.

Nice glad to see you go it but sucks it had a chip! I really hope my zcons dont have any cosmetic damage. I've read that a few people had their subs arrived with small minor damages like that, mostly due to ups or fedex not giving a shit.
  10. That's the one I was reading about. I'll look into it more and see. Thanks!

You got the sub? What size did u get?
  12. Ill be sure to do that impious. Thanks for the info. I'm not sure but that doesn't make my system active if I use that audio control unit right? I'm really not sure exactly what it does, I only read up on it quickly.
  13. Nicee, it looks good. Get that build log up man!
  14. I could only wish too have a crazy system!! My car can't fit anything bigger than 2 12s haha
  15. Awesome, you got some very nice equipment, sounds like it'd get nasty!!. What vehicle?
  16. I didn't notice your system in your sig. I'd like to see a build log too!
  17. Crescendo amps are very nicee!!
  18. Welcome to SSA!!
  19. Thanks man!! I really appreciate it. I know I wish I found this forum a while ago too! Can you give me links or the model names, so I can look them up more in depth?
  20. SS Teacher, how will I know if I'm happy with it? I don't know if that's a dumb question or not lol I don't have an EQ. Should I try the passive first? If so, what would you reccommend?
  21. I'm using the crossover that does come with them. That crossover will do everything?
  22. The passive crossover that comes with the comps will high pass the tweeters and low pass the mids. You usually use your head unit or amp to high pass the mids so they don't play frequencies below ~80 hertz. (depends on the mid) Ok, then I should use the hipass filter. I just wasn't sure if the crossover box would do that for the midbass. Yes, components can't handle really low notes, that's why you have subs. I kept my factory HU but wasn't happy with the passive Line Out Converter (LOC) and bought an active one for about $100 and am very happy with it. I mostly understand what is passive and active when it comes too speakers, but not sure with that LOC. What is the difference and how do you use it?
  23. Yea, so what exactly does that crossover box do when you have the components hooked up to it? Does it make it so the midbass speaker only receives certain frequencies and the tweeter receive certain frequencies?
  24. So put hipass on the amp's cross over module and then wire up the components normally with that crossover box?
  25. So I just placed an order for the new Crescendo Mezzo components and I was wondering how to wire them up once I receive them. I have a 2 channel Kicker ZR1000 (I got it for $30 and it works perfect ) that I will use to power them. The only problem is that I'm not sure what to put the crossover module at. The options are bypass, lowpass and hipass. I used the hipass for the coaxials, but I'm not sure if that would be used for the components, since it has the crossover box. Also, I'm going to keep my stock head unit. I have 2 Crescendo BC2ks (strapped) and the kicker ZR1000. What should I use to connect the RCAs up to? For my friend's cars, they have a little blue box from meijer's/walmart that taps into the back speakers, but I feel there's something better that will provide cleaner sound. Anyone have any ideas of what to use? Crescendo just called me back. I called this morning and left a message asking when the pre-sale will be over. I told him I just ordered the Mezzo components and he said I'm really going to like them. He said they also just made some last minute changes to the tweeters and they are even better.
