Why would he? He made is point pretty clearly and i dont see any "hole" he dug. He never flamed anyone, he's just defending his product from(more) misinformation.

Rofl! Damn thats bad. Was that the old eDead before they went to Butyl? Ive never seen anything like that in my deading experience so far. As far as their products i think they are good for the price. They make budget oriented SQ subs that perform well. Are there better drivers out there? Of course, but for the money i still think their stuff is a great deal if you arent going with a full blown high end competition car, and just wanna upgrade your stock drivers...etc. Not like they are charging an arm and a leg for their products.

Ive seen that as well and i agree with you. Sometimes though its usually some guy trolling their forums or just trying to start something with Ben, but other times its just honest criticism and they get posts deleted or banned etc. Usually this will occur in the ED specific forums but not in the general discussion section of the forums. Either way i agree and dont like it but its their forum.

Ill be sure to a give a review. Good or bad im not going to be bias. Another reason i wanted to go with the Av.2 is that it yields a smaller enclosure even though its prob going to have to be braced and double baffled due to the driver weighing close to 60lbs. Id prefer a box < 3cuft over that of a 15" driver that requires 4cuft or greater.

Ive owned a Fi BL 12 but ended up selling it 2 weeks ago. Good driver but the SQ wasnt where i wanted it. I love Fi products and would of gotten a 15 Q or perhaps an ICON 15 if i didnt go with the Av.2 but the price was a great deal. Also the 13av.2 is cheaper then then a Fi Q 15 because I got in on the "1st 25 pre order" price which was significantly lower then retail. The next 200 after the 1st 25 went for $295, and the 1st 25 went for less then that. Also they will be signed by the guys at ED.

My subjective review of the SSA Icon
Very well written and in depth review. Great job.

As far as i know before they did in house tooling they paid TC to build drivers to the specs they requested. Please correct me if im wrong.

Uh, they dont charge you until the item ships. Ive had one on pre order since they announced the pricing discount of the 1st 25 they are selling and have never been charged a dime. As for comparing their hardware to others, thats like apples and oranges. Would i rather have a Sundown SAZ-1500D over a Nine.1? Absolutely. The SAZ-1500D is a better amp hands down. Do I think the SAZ is worth the extra money? No, absolutely not...not for what i paid. As for their drivers they are pretty much known as budget SQ drivers. Not hard core SPL comp drivers. If i want SPL ill look elsewhere other then ED, but i could care less about SPL because its not my thing...again apples and oranges.

Ive bought a great deal of hardware from ED and never received one of "his defective products". Again this has been over the past 2 years. Im sorry, i really wish i had some horror stories i could share and agree with you guys on but it just hasnt happened. Ive never had a problem with issues regarding support on their products. They all come with a 5 year transferable warranties and i can pick up a phone at any time and talk to a tech regarding any hardware and have it addressed.

Sounds kinda of vague. Could you please elaborate more on some of these "reasons" and how it "effected" others then yourself since you never owned any of their products? This was 6 years ago correct? Im honestly interested and hope im not coming off as smug. Thanks.

Sorry to hear that. Ive applied eDead in three different vehicles over the last 2 years and never seen anything similar. Again, anyone with any experience with their hardware here?

Wow a positive review. Obviously he was paid off by Ben and the evil forces... Even though Ben runs the company i dont support him personally because i dont even know him(although ive spoken with him a few times). I do, however, support the products they(there are other great people working at ED) make because they have all worked for me flawlessly in the past as have other products from Fi, DLS, Alpine etc which ill continue to support. I just wonder how many people here have actually used their products...ie amps, drivers, and have legitimate issues with them? By "legitimate" i mean hands on, not oh i heard from so and so on the forums blah blah blah or from my buddy so and so. If you have had problems that were handled unjustly then i agree to avoid their product as would I with any manufacture, but i would not go around flaming a company online like a teenager. This isnt aimed at everyone in this thread. Some of you seem rather professional, while others seem to follow the typical 12v mob mentality.

Can this forum get any more biased? Whats with flaming a product that hasn't even been released yet? Get one, run it through some tests and form your own professional opinion...wouldn't that make more sense? Even if was to end up to be a great product, and perform close to the level of a great driver like the 13w7 at 1/3 of the price then thats pretty damn good imo. As i remember the old A series flat cones were quite good and considered by some to be a benchmark SQ driver.

*Sigh* Oh well i give up...no wonder the 12v business is going down the crapper.

I still think name calling is a bit much. If you had a bad experience leave it at that and avoid their buisness. A little more professionalism is always needed in the 12v community....actually its very much needed these days.

Ive heard the stories from like what...4 or 5+ years ago all about Ben. However i wasnt a customer of theirs then. Perhaps my outlook would be different if something had happened to me if i was...but i wasnt. Im not saying give them another chance to people who were unhappy in the past, thats their call. But i think people maybe getting the wrong idea of their current products(that have made them successful over the last few years) due to bitter people saying things that happened so far in the past. Which in turns to.."Oh i heard so and so from this guy on the forums..." which ends up being untrue. I just think their current hardware doesnt get a fair shake from a lot of people(mainly people that have never used one of their products). Also Ben isnt the only guy working there...if you have ever spoken to Alex or Chris you would probably enjoy talking to them very much about anything audio related. As for the eDead ive used it on 2 different vehicles and havent had a problem. Im actually about to order some UE and some v4 teklite for my new car. My nine.1 puts out more power than its rated and is stable down to 0.5 ohm all day...although that would void the 5 year warranty. So i find it hard to complain. Have you ever tried any of their hardware? I hope this doesnt sound like im trying to argue im just trying to have a conversation is all.

That's a valid opinion. If i had issues with a brand i would steer clear as well, and i have in the past. I myself have never had a problem with their gear, so whose opinion is more valid? Neither. Bottom line i think name calling and slander reflects poorly on companies(or people who "represent" them) that do so. PS. What gear did you have issues with? Just curious.

Nothing wrong with opinions but name calling is pretty unprofessional and looks childish. Most of the people who bash ED have never even used their products and just go by what some random guy said on the net. Ive owned and used several of their products for over 2 years and never had a single problem. If you have a problem with their forums why dont you just call them up and ask them? Their number is on their website for a reason.

Sundown makes great amps. Kicker id skip for the price point. Bang for your buck id go with eD....ive never had a problem with their CS or quality of products.

Whats up with forum mods flaming other companies like 12 year olds? Sounds real professional.

Love my Nine.1 as well, got it used for $220. Wouldnt trade it for anything else in its price range.

Thats very nice work on that box. Who needs a back seat anyways? I was tooling with the idea of walling off my trunk but decided against it. Again thats very nice, thx for the pics.
