  1. I think the mods could agree it may be worth the extra time to keep people coming here to these forums and store. If the site is flooded with scammers, decent honest people will stop coming here. It's a shitty reality, but some folks just don't give a damn, and enjoy ripping off good people.
  2. A little spark is common, a big spark with pretty blue smoke is a sign you need to go to a shop.
  3. What are you trying to measure here? the gain. I plugged my leads into the positive speaker terminal on amp and negative terminal If I may.. www.the12volt.com This site could help you out with your issues.
  4. What are you trying to measure here?
  5. Being out of phase means your woofers aren't firing at the same time which causes cancellation.
  6. You may have to have an experienced installer check out your work. You are having multiple issues that seem to go beyond your skill level. It would suck the shitter if you burnt your car to the ground.
  7. I had an amp stolen from me, I found it in a pawn shop the next week. Cops told me I couldn't file a report because I didn't have the serial number. I hope it all works out for you man. Shit happens to good people, and it sucks.
  8. I hope you have the serial number off the amp for proof of property.
  9. . I want to yield the best possible results. I will try with just beauty panels, if i'm not satisfied with that, I will just foam behind and around the seal.
  10. My seats fold down easily. I am going to try the foam and trim panels. I will have photos as soon as the build is completed. Thanks again!
  11. Should I use foam insulation, or something different? Maybe something a bit more dense perhaps?
  12. Should the foam be dense? Like is expanding insulation foam dense enough?
  13. I would like it to look clean too. Should I do beauty plates over the foam, is this the only method?
  14. Since this will be my first time doing a forward firing setup in a trunk car, I need advice and opinions for the best way to seal the trunk from the cabin. Thanks Guys
  15. Lol, I was like huh? Did I do that?
  16. Right, wasn't trying to slander another company, just nice to have an alternative.
  17. I just want it reconed to sell. It was good to me for six years, needs to go to a new home fresh and reconed. I'd pay you to do it, but I don't want to go through PSI.
  18. I have a 15 that needs a recone. PSI said $160 to do it, I would rather be able to find the soft parts and do it myself.
  19. Measure the voltage with the engine running, determine your idle voltage, then turn your stereo on and watch your meter for drops.

  21. I misunderstood the question a bit. He didn't specify alternator capability. I assumed he was trying to select a fuse size. Yes, there is more to it, but that was a short answer to his question.Double post.. Again OOPS

  23. Ohm's law is invaluable.. Take the total wattage and divide it by your idle voltage. That will give you the amount of amps drawn to select a fuse. My calculation is roughly 60 amps. So yes, it's plenty.

He would be 155 today. Damn
  25. What kind of music does he listen to, what does he drive? There are many variables that need to be looked at, especially on a $800 budget. Sound deadening, an enclosure, wiring, amp, subs will run more than $800. IMO your buddy should save up to buy the gear to do it right, on that kind of budget he couldn't afford all of the gear you mentioned above. A Sundown 1500d is $525 new alone. That is 3/4 of the budget right there. Save up to get what he wants, and the essentials to do the job correctly. Double post.. OOPS!
