2 Ascendant Audio Havoc 18s
Hi guys Trying to get started on enclosure this morning for a Jeep Cherokee. Want to be able to see out of the back window. Listens to Metal/Rock. Tuning ~ 35-37hz okay Amp ~ Rockford Fosgate 40001 I now have these max internal dimensions to work with before speaker and bracing displacement. 40" W 23" H 24" D Thanks for any help Shizzzon I've sent you a new PM Goal is doing what it takes to get max air space so a ported enclosure is possible. Subs up port back. Box will also be double baffled. Can anyone double check my work and see what kind of port you come up with. Probably one rear chamber and one big port slotted and vented. Thanks in advance, Joe

BTL Making a popping sound
I have a BTL 15 dual mag hooked up 1 ohm mono to Sundown 3000. When I really want to get on it the sub sounds like it is bottoming out. When I had it hooked up 2 ohms it did not do this. Also I have yet to blow my 100 amp fuse. Have 300 amp fuse standing buy but with the popping I have to keep the sound down enough so I don't know if I'll ever blow this 100A fuse. Doesn't sound like tinsel slap to me. Box is tuned to 35hz and is almost 4cf. Thanks in advance Ronrico Joe

The eXtremes of what to tune the Fi lineup
I am about to start a build on 2 18" Havocs w/ a RF 40001. Guy listens to Heavy Rock. 35hz is what we've decided on so far. I ahd a bandpass tuned to 28hz and I loved it. It was in an S10 so I agree w/ Tejcurrent. Probably wouldn't have been as nice in a bigger vehicle like his. Shizzzon you have a PM. Ronrico

Would the phase knob only need turning all the way to completely shift or will sometimes the variables in between help a system

SUNDOWN SAZ 3000D
Something isn't quite right if the amps shuts down and doesn't blow a 100 amp fuse. Your actual nominal load is 1/2 ohm regardless of what your meter says -- it is probably just not accurate. How is your ground? Good? What type of RCAs? How are the knobs dialed in? Thanks for replying Jacob. I'll get all the answers for you sometime today (just wokeup) My buddy jpangkilla had of course nothing but praise for you on the recent amp purchases he made. I reminded him when I got my 3k it was here in the flash of an eye. ROck on bro!!! Later ~ROnrico

Sundown SAZ 3000D
What is the proper way to adjust the settings on my SUNDown 3000? I'm only adjusting it to be clear to my ears as of now Can someone explain each potentiometer setting? / What each one does? and how to adjust properly. Do I set different if I want "lower" or "higher" notes to come alive? Thanks in advance ~Ronrico

The eXtremes of what to tune the Fi lineup
Question What is the highest and lowest tuning that you all know of for the differnet series of the Fi lineup? AA would also be considered. Personally I would be most concerened with 18s and 15s I currently have 1 15" BTL dual mag in 3.8CF and tuned to 35hz Many people including myself (surprise) are really impressed by the output of this sub/enclosure combo I however have realised that (to know surprise) the cabinet is not capable of playing the lowest notes. Really needing more airspace for lower simpler tuning abilities, the box is great for "most people" and say a "rocker" type listener. Now since I myself am a rocker, Staind, Linkin Park, Korn, come to mind more popular rocker bands to demo would be Pink Floyd, Judas Priest, (PAINKILLER, A Touch of Evil)) or some Metallica w/ Lars' awesome tight double bass kicks. I know in advance in setting up my car for daily driving this would be good tuning for me since I do like various types of music. In setting up my S10 Blazer I know in advance that I'm willing to sacrifice my "metal" listening abilities (for the most part) for the greater good of being able to play those lowest frequencies like Techmaster PEB, MC A.D.E., and L'Trimms car's that go booom. So again the lowest know tuning frequencies any of you may definately know of and also the highest frequencies. Wanting to here of anything you got in the Fi family (AA included) Personally I want to run 4 18s at the lowest frequency but I have an enclosure I am building soon with either 2 BTL 18s or 2 Havoc's in 10 CF with "metal music" in mind subs up port back (vented with square port center bottom. Would love to tune higher as Jeezy won't find his way in the CD player very often. 36 - 37hz what is KNOWN? My own system 4 18's up in the air anywhere between SSDs and Havoc's. BTL dual mags a slight option. Would have to get another Sundown Saz3000D though. Definately tuning this enclosure lower with around 20 CF 4th order single reflex bandpass. 25-27 hz What is KNOWN? Could definately use alot of help on this one so if you know PLEASE POST if you have some definate knowledge on the different types of music listened to at the extemes of tuning and the happiness of the owner with thier settup. THANKS IN ADVANCE TO EVERYONE ~Ronrico

SUNDOWN SAZ 3000D
Well I hooked it up parallel today and listened to it for about 30 minutes. 100A FUSE DID NOT BLOW!!! The amp shut off twice though. Any thoughts?? Now running 1 0hm as read by meter. 1ohm in parallel 2 ohm in series. Each coil reads 1.4-5ohms on there own. Someone please explain why I don't get 3 ohms in series and 3/4 ohms in parallel Did get much louder and is impressive as chit. Ronrico

15 BL vs 15 BTL
I second the BTLs (dual mags) 1500 wats each will really get those things moving plus if you ever want to upgrade you can just get another amp and not have to worry about your subs, or box. IMO Personally I have a dual mag btl15 and it's impressing the chit out of everyone w only 1500 watts and whats cool is if I want to put 3k on it all I have to do is add the power not rip apart box buy a diff woofer etc. etc.

Single 15 BTL box build Any HELP appreciated
Well I am impressed. The BTL actually has alot of SQ for a "SPL" style woofer. Yes it's settup for daily as opposed to the dedicated burp/fart option but I am really blown away by the output and clarity. I'm swinging towards my own build now being possibly 4 AA Havocs or 4 Q 18s. I could however for the first time in my life see being happy with only 2 subs. Right now I am running the dual mag 15 2 ohm from a Sundown SAZ 3000D which is capable of 1600 watts rms at this load probably getting 1200 rms. The dual mag BTL and the Sundown are performing beautifully. I went ttwo different stereo shops today and my buddies tattoo shop. The response I received from people knowledgable about Kicker,JL Audio, and Rockford ranged from 2 15s, 2 15s,2 15s, 4 10s, 4 12s, 4 15s. All were in disbelief when they learned of 1 15. Gave me a chance to tell them all who they can come too if needing a box for their own rides hehe and reppin the Sundown/Fi combo. Box came out really solid perfectly tuned to 35hz with only 3.8ish CF after displacement. I was also able to add a double baffle which really made a difference. I can hear that a bigger box would easily help find dem Lows a little easier but they are still there. Again impressed everyone I came into contact with including myself. SUN/Fi is a definate winner. Enjoy pics still undecided on finish but I will post when done. Also vids to come LATER Joe Definately the best box I ever built again all credit given to Shizzzon for helping w/ port quickly and clearly. I was in the zone when it came to my wood cuttin. Never had too do such little sanding. Put my soul in it and it feels good these products RULE Thanks also to eveyone here and a special thx to Scott and Jacob. Peace Bro's Joe Rod Going to do the "axle grease trick". Anyone know bout that? good for 5 bonus points

From: 4 Shizzzon
I rebuilt enclosure twice using only RF 18s and although originally designed for Lanzar subs the box worked beautifully and was most impressive. It is my motivating and driving factor to hear 4 18 Fi SSDs w/ 3-4 times the power of my old system. Not sure why it's not
