  1. to test and see it you have a speaker wire grounded you need to put the pos lead on your multimeter to the pos speaker wire and the put the neg lead on your multimeter to a chasy ground. set your meter to continuity test and listen for the meter to beep. if it does then the wire is grounded. if it doesnt then it is time to do the same thing to the neg speaker wire. keep doing this till you have done all the pos and neg speaker wires. you can also set the meter to read the impedence and if you get a reading then the wire is grounded, if you dont get a reading then the circuit is open and that wire is fine.
  2. It's only 4 but I am running the amp at 4ohm and no gain so I think it will be ok Yea I plan on goin to all of the shows in E-town and all of the IL and IN ones. My score could have been better , I lost one point just because my relay clicks when it comes on. I hope to be scoreing 56/57s by the end of the season.
  3. Sounds great I will get better pics up of the car and the finished install soon. There is 100sq feet of peel n seel, 4 bulk packs, and 1 trunk pack of dynamat No it will all be covered with beauty panels. Yea but mine is running at 4ohms, I am either going to add another Icon 10" or switch to an Icon 15" or Xcon 18". I dont need it but I am still a bit of a bass head and like to have something to rockout with when I am not competeing, I am already missing a ported box. I would love to hear your setup, mine sounds great and I only have one 10". Your car is what has inspired me to get mine done in this cold Indiana weather.
  4. UPDATE: Well I took the car to the Carl Casper MECA comp. yesterday for its first show of the year. I competed in the Amateur Street SQ class. Only judged on a 70 point scale instead of the 100 point scale. The car managed to score a 51.7 average without the EQ and T/A. It's nice to know that I have lots of room to grow, plus I still need to pretty up the install.
  5. Well I have been working on my car for about 2 weeks now and figured I should post up some pics of the build. The car is being built to compete in MECA's amatuer street SQ class. The car is not 100% done yet, it just needs to be made pretty and then I am set, but that won't happen before the comp. at Casper Saturday. Before I begin I want to say thank you to Mark at SSA (for one of the best sounding subs that I have ever heard), Jacob at Sundown (for some very well built amps), all of my buddies at SoundCheck (Goddie, Cooper, RP, Hank, and Ryan), and my team mates Marshall and Chris. Equipment being used is in my sig. Here are the pics in order (somewhat)
  6. Wish I had these to wear to the Casper comp. this weekend.
  7. Thats awesome! I dont know if he is trying to get it done for Casper or not but it would be great if you guys could come and watch atleast. The more people the better.
  8. Goodie has one at the shop buddy. That is a bit of a drive for you though.
  9. I voted for the SSi. I had an 18 sealed in 2.5 cubes and it sounded amazing. It only needs 2 cubes. Treo Online
  10. It's about time you got to work on that truck Brock. It would be great if you went to Casper with us on the 21st. It would be cool to have the whole team together again.
  11. 1) Sundown SAZ-3000D @ 8ohm ~ 400 watts. 2) Help install at SoundCheck in Indiana, MECA SQ competitor 3) Sure do 4) Have all of the pics, just waiting to post them 5) Rap, Rock, R&B, Chesky Disk 6) SSA, CarAudio, DIYMobileAudio, SPL BassX. Already have an Icon 10 to compare.
  12. Right now you can get the Samsung 32" for $498 and it is not a refurbished tv either. Another nice thing about the Sanyo tv is you can return the tv to Walmart for the entire year of warranty, all other brands have a 90 day return policy and then a 1 year warranty through the manufacture. It is $447 online, not sure what the instore price is at the moment.
  13. yea ILO is another brand to not buy. I dont think you will find one since they went bankrupt, but if you do dont get it.
  14. I hate to say this but you work at Walmart and know the return pollicy. Walmart returns anything. Return it and get the Vizio LCD or the Sanyo LCD, the Vizio plasma has a great picture but are not the most reliable tv in the world. Dont get my wrong I love plasma tv's cause I own a 50" Panasonic Plasma myself, but I have returned a number of Vizio plasmas.
  15. Stay away from RCA, Polaroid, Magnavox, Insignia if you want something that won't break in a few months. Samsung, Sharp, LG, Sony, and Panasonic (Pioneer if you want to spend that much) are all great tv's overall (picture quality and reliability). Other decent tv's are Philips, Sanyo (Most reliable TV you can buy according to Consumer Reports), and Vizio (which is not nearly as good as many people think it is, but is nice for the price). There are many other brands but these are the ones that I deal with the most since I work in the Electronics department at Walmart. If you are looking for a 32" tv then don
  16. my buddies at SoundCheck sell RE, Treo, and lots of other brands and deal with alot of internet stuff. You may get to listen to the Astro van when you're there if you want. www.BanginPink.com
  17. Get ahold of my buddy Goddie (Loddie) at SoundCheck in Lafayette. The number to the shop is (765) 447-5802 I told him you might call. He will quote you a better price.
  18. Madisound.com If these are what he is talking about then I agree on going active with these.
  19. Very nice build! I think I am going to run my 3000d to my 10" Icon. At 4ohm though.
  20. sorry you are aloud 30amps of fuse and yes they put a stop to that rule. You can have 2 fuses in Street 2. http://www.mecacaraudio.com/2009mecarulebo...lasses%20p7.pdf
  21. In Street 1, haveing 2 12" subs you are only aloud 1 25amp fuse. I dont think a 3000D is goin to work for you. After all or the rule changes I dont think there will be over a 150db in Street one.
  22. AlpineAndy replied to bamaster's topic in Sundown Audio
I have seen this done with the 100.2 and it worked out pretty good. I think it is your best bet with what you have now as long as you gain match the amps
  23. I think you will be very pleased with the Icon 10's. Welcome to SSA
