Saw Thor last night... While it definitely has some very nice special effects which some would only excel in an IMAX capable theater and the fact that there is surprisingly a lot of comedy involved with this film, the "superhero" part of the movie is lacking greatly.... When i go to a Marvel comic movie, i'm assuming i'm going to see some "Super-natural powers" from the main character(s). There was actually very short scenes where the user sees this... This movie actually reminds me of Spiderman. Unless there is sequels to be made from Thor... it is wise to probably only watch this one and move on... The problem with this theory is Avengers is coming May 2012 so i highly doubt a sequel, let alone an effective sequel to Thor would ever work. Conclusion- either see it full blown in IMAX or just wait for it to come on disc.. It's an interesting story but the majority of the movie was focused on Thor being on Earth and leaning more towards the comedy side of things rather than showing the history or really how powerful Thor can really be rather than the short 30sec or less scenes... On a positive note.. DO NOT leave once the credits roll.. Wait until the very end for the secret scene at the end.... For those that have watched the Avengers trailer, there is a reason why a certain person is narrating in this trailer
  2. i can hear it now... Stefan has a bunch of SSA stickers to............. Put On(the song, lol) Stefan is down with SSA.. down with SSA cuz his stickers are.... Put On!
  3. Wait wait Wait a minute...... Just because Mark left AZ doesn't mean that nobody is left, lol.. SSA has all kinds of AZ guys there... U better be makin friends and usin that comet chat on the bottom to help find u some 3min extra hands when the time comes to install this thing in ur car.
  4. Actually there is/was no member controversy here so no need to start some hysterical movement on the forum, lol.
  5. don't tell ur enclosure designer the specs and then... If i remember correctly.. I've been down that road with users comments before... :cough :cough David's IAK ass.. :cough :cough TeamRamrod mutha......... You better make sure before Andrew starts gluing stuff together and it be too big to fit.... (something she'd love to say but won't help u here )
  6. the only way i could ever see a drop in test actually being successful in a way to measure which sub was louder on the meter is if the box being used WAS the official box that would permanently be used in said vehicle. ^And of course the results would ONLY hold true for THAT install in THAT car. It's been known that sub swapping is a no no comparison method just by itself. this is why you may see many people say Sub A was louder than Sub B then somebody else will do the exact same test and it be the other way around. Amp swapping is another no no too. Battery swapping.. eh.. not as many variables but still would effect battery comparison's greatly if a battery had any extra use over another one. I believe the goal as to why which one is louder, if i'm right, is to attempt, within the testing limits in this thread, to show that a user need not spend the extra money by going with DD if loud on the meter is your goal.
  7. Ok, let me say something. Ok i'm done.. Nah, ok here it is- My buddy had a DD9500 sub, do not know what revision the motor was and a BTL ufo motor. Both were 18s. Did a direct sub swap. Box- 4.5cuft NET, single 8" flare port tuned to 42hz. Powered by 2 SA Saz3ks @2ohm strapped. DC Power 270A alt and 3 Batcap2000s. On a burp- BOTH subs did exactly the same score- 152.7db However, the differences were great when the power was lowered. On lower power, the BTL put out a considerable higher sustained output than the DD did. also, the BTL was more musical or should i say more enjoyable to listen to on music than the 9500 was. So his conclusion was- BTL won hands down. Sounded better on music, more smooth. Was more efficient on less power. Able to produce same score as DD sub without the extra money it cost to own one. Obviously, the DD may not like this box but that's all the test offered.
  8. i dont know the internals of the xb... If u REALLY interested... Go grab a tape measure and drive to a toyota dealership. Tell the salesman u like the xB and plan on buyin it but u need to measure the cargo area for your own project work. Come back and tell us the dimensions.. or u should know urself by then.

yes and places like HD or Lowes only carry up to 12" diameter too.
  10. biggest ported design u can get back there is just a hair over 5cuft. If u insist on 7cuft, get an xb I would have chose that over my tC but at the time i bought my car, the newest xb's engine was only 101hp and i knew that was gonna be a problem with my high 150db installs to carry the weight around.
  11. disconnect all three batts for about 10min, then measure voltage on all batts. they should all be 13v. Re-measure in an hour to make sure they are still reading the same... If any batt is sagging below 13v, charge it independently.
  12. now, my son, we can get back to car audio, lol.
  13. lol, i know. If it is fake.. I guess we'll go Call of Duty on some ass over there... I can see it now- Michael Moore presents- Call Of Duty- Black Osama Ops
  14. sorry, i know u was waitin for me to make this topic for ya, lol
  15. Just check your news stations... Osama Bin Laden is no more...
  16. Dwayne Johnson.. Yea but he had a suspicion something was up when they just left without any hesitation when he told them too... He already knew he was in some shit... But.. while he was there, he did kill that guy and took out a bunch of corrupt police at the same time.
  17. i got ur answers i believe. she's alive because they only showed how Dom thought she died... See.. everybody thinks she died but nobody ever seen her body and didnt actually show how she died.. just a vision. Now as to why? Dom wanted to part from her because as in the 4th one, he said he didnt want her around when he got busted. Well.. he's been on the run ever since.... NOW, since he has all this money... if he knew she was alive... he would be in heaven in other words.. so why would she fake her death? For the same reason dom wanted to part from her. But she didnt do it for just dom, she did it to\for everybody so it could be as real as possible.... Only unanswered question is.. who else is involved in her disappearance? In Part 4, someone's body is in that casket.... it's not hers. Or... At that time, they were desperate to find and bring torreto in so they could have also staged the funeral.. Nobody is in the casket... If that's true, then the bureau would have been involved in relocating her OR at least know her approx whereabouts so they would know she would never show up again during that timeframe... this theory is a little sketchy because Brian is currently working with the FBI and if they did anything to\for her, he should\would have known about it especially since they were racing here and there... Why would he never tell Dom where she is? Unless the FBI didnt trust Brian either and hid it from both Brian and Dom?
  18. I'll tell you anyways... Letty is alive ...
  19. So, for those that seen the ending of the movie... Wow.. Just got done reading that there will be 2 more of these movies to be released before the story is over... The next one is going to be released in 2013.
  20. port area for a box is not determined by the volume of the box. This rule of thumb is very generic and doesn't generally work with many installs. Results in excessive port area many times. Well the subsonic is something I was waiting to get set until I solve this problem. For now, I have turned it all the way down (yes I did during my initial testing to all of those who suggested it). Also, my LPF is turned all the way up on the amp, but it is set at 60 Hz at a -18 dB/oct. digitally on my radio. I'm going out to do more testing this afternoon. Voltage dropping to 12.5v isnt good imo. With a 225a alt and 2500wrms amp on music (doubtful you even come close to that rms rating), you shouldnt really have considerable voltage drop. You went from a RF amp to Sundown. Sundown amps are no joke. You may want to consider upgrading or reworking your electrical wiring if needed. You might even need to look into XS Power battery up front and another XS Power battery near the amp. I have a feeling you are starving your Sundown amp. Maybe your enclosure foe the sub is less than optimal. Good luck Whats wrong with voltage at 12.5? Also, why wouldn't he have a considerable voltage drop? Assume at idle the 225a only puts out 150ish, the voltage is going to drop when the alternator is reaching its output limits. I don't see how he is "starving" the amp either. With the information the op supplied he changed amplifiers and upgraded to one with 2.5 times more potential output. Therefore the electrical requirement is 2.5 times more. But.........no additional electrical upgrades were done to support all the added power. 12.5v is basically the resting voltage of his battery. This means, to me, that his amp is pulling 100% power out of the alt and them dipping into battery reserves. Dead battery anyone? 13v or higher for me or my systems is turned down. There are many unknown variables here, but my opinion stands. Op, how hot does the amp get? Pretty hot I bet. I ran my previous amp with the stock 120 amp alternator for.... 2 years I believe without incident. Voltage RARELY dropped below 13.8-14V. The time between the period where I upgraded alternators and sold my amp was maybe 2 weeks. That means that I played my "old system (old amp and sub)" for about two weeks with the upgraded alt. Voltage was fine still, obviously. The battery was replaced about 4 months ago. It's resting voltage is 12.6V. Your logic doesn't make sense. Just because I upgrade amplifiers does NOT mean I need to upgrade my electrical if it is already at or above par. I do not ride around playing tones either, so The amount of time my amplifier will draw full current is VERY short. You know about the dynamic properties of music, etc. 225*12.5 (the LOWEST voltage it will drop to) =2812.5. And this doesn't account for impedence rise. And it doesn't include the current the battery has available!!!!! I believe my electrical system is not the problem. I do not mean to be offensive, I just get the feeling that this is NOT and electrical system related problem. My friend was running a SAZ3500D to two 18" Xcons on stock electrical (150 amp alt and one battery temporarily) and he could drop to 11 V!!!!! And it was still loud as fawk. Amp stays cool as a cucumber. However, the dustcap of the sub got quite warm, which lead me to believe I was driving the amplifier into clipping, which baffles me, because it does not feel like 2500 watts of punishing power. It barely feels like 1000 watts! Oh and ANOTHER issue I have is that when playing at full volume, my voltage will actually spike up to over 15V, sometimes giving me an error message on my Driver's Information Center. This is a very strange problem I cannot figure out. It happened with my old amp as well. Stupid PCM monitored voltage. I need to get my alternator internally reg'd I guess. If you are pulling a heavy load that is about to or does exceed the alternator's output at the given rpm and your pcm is still able to spike the voltage up that high.... Sounds to me the alternator may be backing off current output.. If it is, then that's when you dip deeply into the battery and lose output. Another note- That Sundown amp can receive an input signal up to 6v vs the Rockford up to 5v. So by default, the Sundown amp would need to be turned up a little more to match the output of the headunit.
  21. running 5x the amp rated power to a sub doesnt mean it will blow... I ran 21kw worth of amp power to 3 DC lvl4s (1000wrms each) for 2010 competing season and didnt damage them. It's not what u got but how u use it.
  22. Really ? That is pretty silly to say. LOL. I don't see the argument of having a good protect circuits is a bad thing, even in the lanes. Just because it goes into protect with you, doesn't mean its totally useless to everybody else. Don't change what I'm implying or saying... I do not own sundown monoblock amps, I was speaking on behalf of many users that own them that have all had the issue. I was not involved with any of the installs so do not think I have anything to do with it.
  23. get a bench tester and test it that way.
