Wait, the HDCs have a longer suspension than ordinary drivers do. Get or make a test tone disc with frequencies 28-40hz on it roughly. Start playing at 38hz and work your way down. When the sub appears to be moving more than what you think it should be moving, start to increase the SSF until it stops moving dangerously. DJ has told me those drivers can play a good amount under tuning before over-doin it.

Also, 3 RE SX 10s, i know the weight of these babies and they seem pretty capable of getting loud.

How about the following since i am still researching-- 3 Fi BL 10s... 3 SSA ICON 10s Subs must be under 100lbs... I think the FIs are more than that but can't confirm that and nobody knows the weight of the ICONs supposedly...

Well, as Denalilyr just put it- Type X's aren't known for getting loud so now i have NOTHING TO INSTALL! ddeitz- both of those subs want to be in 3 cubes per driver so 2 is out of the question. remember, make sure they can fit the box at hand.

i can try what acid burn said. No, straws cant really "work" because the tube that comes with it has a base that you use to push down which lets the stuff out. With just a straw, you would have to push down on the can itself with your other hand and where i am filling this stuff up in, i can't have 2 hands at the same time in there. I need to stop off and get some triple expanding foam today so i can ge done with it within a day or 2. i just need to mask off a couple of electrical devices so i don't crush em and i'll be set.

Anybody use this expanding foam before? If you have, do you know where i can get extra tubes for them at to squirt through? I have to let it dry for a few minutes because i am filling a void about 2 cubes! After a while of me squirting waiting squirting waiting, the foam has then dried up inside the tube straw and i can't use the can anymore.

here in louisville, it's cheaper to get pulled over for speeding at any speed even as high as 25 over compared to your 1st offense of noise violation. Traffic tickets here are only $2 per 1mph over the limit(25mph =$50) plus court costs which i think is between $124-$140.

I'm not gonna try and go deep into this as this topic would then get boring. But on a general level- SSD with copper coil and BP vs ICON Both comparing 10s here being delivered 1100w. I like it loud loud but as u can see i am comparing using copper coil so some nice transient response needs to be there as well. I read about the flatwound but do not think i want it. On a general level, is this a win win situation? Both bout the same regardless?

Hey Audio neon, i think i typed that out wrong and u got the wrong impression. I'm not pointing what you said as stupid as in you are stupid. What i am saying about whoever posted loud stereos impair drivers is this- (i know i didnt say this but i was half awake anyway, hehe) I was young once... maybe even twice, i cant remember. Anyways, when i first started driving, there were times that i had close calls because i wasn't as experienced as i am now with driving and knowing my surroundings. These kids that just started driving for the first 3 yrs go out and get stereo systems but that is not what actually distracts them. What i am saying is, even if the stereo was doin 150s in the vehicle, it's no different of a distraction than listening to a stock stereo. If you can hear anything coming out of the speakers, it's a distraction in a sense so if they like it, they'll sing to it in their head which then... there goes their alertness. A phone, someone in the car, something funny on the side of the road, any of those things are just as bad if not worse than a loud stereo to someone who just started driving. Point being is it's not what they have, it's them period. They have no experience to add something else to their vehicle that needs control too. People, like me, who know how to drive properly is not zoned out when music is goin in the car.

Whoever said it impairs driving should have just posted nothing at all... A STOCK stereo gets so loud that you cannot hear sirens so something louder is a given. It should be known to yourself that you will not be able to hear so what do you do.... you are suppose to constantly view your surroundings. Even when my stereo isn't even on, i'm constantly checkin side and rear view mirrors.

u know, u could always move and live somewhere not in the city, just a hair out of the city where your neighbor is 1\4 mile away. Those types of areas in my experience are filled with mostly people who don't care what goes on because everybody knows each other in a sense.

good point, there are laws in every city, some aren't even known by the police i'm sure just like a load of others aren't even enforced. yep pure bullcrap. I respect my surroundings when the stereo is goin. Residential areas, stop lights\signs, parking lots(for burglary prevention), heavy slow ass traffic, around those who can cite you for it, hehe. I've had my warning before several years ago. I was on a road 45mph that had houses that sat back off the road a good 80ft. Liek one house every 600-750feet not a popular street. I had gotten a warning once a long time ago about it being too loud. I asked him why he was giving me a warning period and he said that people in the area have been complaining about it at all times of the day. This was my first time ever driving through there anyway. He told me, (for louisville, KY) that if i want it loud just make sure we ain't around and that you do it on a more busy type street without people actually around to possibly disturb. If someone can get disturbed, it's a violation if it's a consistent nuisance. Our laws are 1st - $250 2nd - $500 3rd - $1000 or impound if try to fight it. 4th - system gets installed in cruiser to make fun of you.
