  3. I currently have 3 sets of memphis pr 6.5 coaxial 2 sets of the 5.25 and one set of the pr tweeters with crossovers. and 2 100.4 to power it.
  4. well i am going to build a center consel 4 them probably firing up between the passenger and driver....I have a wall in a 04 monte carlo so space is limited but I want to boost mid bass. I am not really going for sq by any means but i would like clean volume.
  5. I am wanting to use 2 of these for mid-bass and when I say mid bass i mean 80hz to about 350hz or so what type of enclosure should a try sealed or ported? Thanks, Brock
  6. Sorry if it took me so long to get back to you work was a little crazy. Just letting you know I understand this is a little more time consoming then ordering a BTL and there isn't a next day air rush on it from my side.
  7. Actually the other subs are still working I tore tensil leads. Not all the way threw so we couldn't see it right off the bat. but it still wasn't reading a consistant impedence until I tested after the tear. There is a couple of different approaches I am considering from here. Option one would be recones to the current 2 18" which are fully loaded and I got these before the universal option was out. I am in a wall so the lower tuning really isn't the way to go for me. I actually gained on the low end when I raised the tuning to 40 hz. The limition of the last setup was about 26 hz at about 150 but it loses alot after that and the higher freq. struggled until I applied more power and it still wasn't able to keep up with the lows. Another option is to add a third 18 with all custom recones and going into a higher class but money comes into play. It will most likely be done at a later time so hope that a few months from now so if you could still duplicate whatever it is we do that would be great. Raising the FS was just one of the ideas that has come across it actually came from DB Don. I feel that with all that being considered and the lower power application it would be best for a 3 or 4 soft spiders and a lighter weight cone and dust cap if that is possible. I didnt want to run 2 or 3 stiffs with the possiblity of then cracking. Bottom line is no one knows your product better then you so I want to run it by you and get a little help so to speak Thanks, Brock
  8. Well where to start.....2004 Monte Carlo Walled off with 2 18" drivers. 8 Ft ^ 3 per driver 100 in^2 per driver and tuned at 40 hz with about 3000 watts to them with the fully loaded options we had it doing a 152.5 reality metering meca style. What I am looking for is to raise the FS of the sub. I have 2 loaded btl motors sitting here....and no beats lol you see my problem. Enough to drive a bass head like me crazy. I really would like to get in depth with options here because I cannot afford to do 3 or 4 recones this season... Thanks, Brock
  9. Scott, I know you have been sick and really really busy trying to get caught up. Just to let everyone know I am not starting this topic to bust your balls or anything. I just need to get in touch with you. I would like for it to be over the phone so I can explore my options here for recones of BTL 18's but I would like a custom recone for my application. My e-mail is [email protected] if that is possible please let me know.... Thanks, Brock
  10. personally i would try to increasing port area rule of thumb is 12 to 16 in^2 per cubic foot and try tuning close to 32-38. I would atleast go to the min. of 12 4 cubes usally works ok for 15's even though I dont know these subs personally general rules applying. If you rebuild try firing subs up and port to the side, should help you on the lenght issue of the port.... -Brock
  11. Charleston IL What about you??? Sorry it took so long to get back to you on that one. Holidays are crazy.....
  12. I need help on chosing an alternator 4 an 04 monte carlo...I want something that does as much as possible at idle. I've considered many different brands. Pretty much have it narrowed down to Ohiogen, Power Master, or gettin an Iraggi Alternator. Recommendations??? and how would I get a hold of Iraggi for a price quote. Thanks, Brock
  13. 30hurtzaudio posted a topic in General Fi
hey nick you have time to start a chat about some amps for the btl's? i sent you an e-mail under the name dbanner... Thanks, Brock
  14. 2 different amps i was talking about in theory
  15. i thought so but i just wanted to know for sure and it might be a dumb question but atleast i know now.
  16. i got to thinking today and was wondering how this would work out.... Lets say you have a driver that is rated at 1000 rms watts, so you give it 1000 rms at 4 ohms and no problems. Now you get an amp that does 1000rms at 1 ohm is it the same to the driver???? I was just wondering if the BL of the sub would come into play or if 1000 is 1000 no matter what. Just wondering how it all would be effected. Thanks, Brock
  17. well thanks i am always learning something off u guys...
  18. so i had that part backwards? not that i am arguing the point with u i just want to know.
  19. I was just always told it was a bad for it (the amp "seen" an extremely low impedence) so i never tried it and dont really see a need to. better safe then sorry no need to burn up a good amp...I dont have that kind of money....
  20. depends on what your looking for the Q is more sound quailty and the BTL is SPL...both play low and nasty and nasty is good I would go btl but i havent played around with the q's
  21. a quick and easy way to tell where it will help the most is to see where you have the most flex...i dont think you can reach overkill on sound dampening.
  22. I am going to run 2 Fully Loaded Btl 18" s dual 1ohm coils and I was wondering if anyone had some ideas for an amp or amps to run. electrical is upgraded and I was wanting to atleast give them a true 4k RMS. Also I am wanting to stay under $800. Thanks, Brock
  23. the PA A3000db (have the same board as the Planet Audio TT2250 and the VX2200) are good amps for the money they do around 1800RMS at 1 ohm. One per sub will be fine. I have ran them down to .667 and that was even for daily so they are durable as well. U just need good electical and send the amps a good signal. (look into some audiocontrol and see what fits) Brock
  24. If you had 3 exterior 6" aeroports would it effect them in a negative way to have them entering near the coners of the box or at the lower part? Or is it better to have them in the middle? Thanks, Brock
  25. well i think i am goin to go with the Explorer XLT or the XLS depends on if i can find the right deal....the blazer just seem to narrow to me and lower... Thanks for the feedback, Brock
