  1. Edit: you have an 18. Stick it in 4.5 cubes. I actually do all the assembly myself.
  2. Although the box did it's job it failed. I have a local company working on die cut plank foam that will engulf the motor and the top of the basket. Think styrofoam packaging inserts but made from high quality plank foam. The chips and excess glue by the magnets are normal. Most companies use boots to hide this but I choose not to to save the customer about $20. I'm not too happy with the discoloration of the plates either. I actually spend a ton of time polishing with a grinder and polishing compound. Some of the motors look like they have been smoked out by a fire before polishing. The next batch will be chrome to correct this. I'd stick it in a 3.5 cft box tuned to 32 hz. Post max dimensions and I will work up a design over the next day or two.
  3. The rise seen in most systems isn't caused by frequency or music played. Your typical dmm doesn't read quick enough. The rise seen is caused from heat. The dual twos have been shown on the Klippel to get over 6 ohms in series.
  4. I think they might have the blazer running by that time. (12) ethos 15's on 40k
  5. Tell Paul at DipTex I said hello. Those guys know how to get loud for sure.
  6. I made the last trip. It's ur turn to come down here.
  7. Getting ready to cream 60 cups of mirai
  8. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-CREE-LED-Lenser-V6-7730-110LM-Stainless-Steel-Power-Chip-flashlight-torch-/390876798171?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5b02129cdbThey made 2 types that year, a 3LED and single LED unit. The single LED unit uses an amazing lens that made it kick ass for several times the $. I think this is the single LED. The construction of the body is incredible. Grab it, you won't be sorry I use one from Walmart at work that I paid about 25 bucks for easily read draft marks on vessels with at 200 ft away.
  9. yep, sold 50 driver from August to the end of May. Sold 45 drivers last month. I was expecting to have enough til October but it didnt turn out that way.
  10. Pricing is going up about $15. The dual leads are an option though and is a $20 upgrade.
  11. Ts specs will be identical.
  12. Due to this month's unexpected sales volume the Ethos is out of stock. We are expecting the next shipment of motors in the beginning of October. In the next few weeks a preoder will be available along with interest free Lay A Way.
  13. How you liking the 12's? I got a pair on order. getting anxious... Building enclosure as we speak. I'm having a hell of a time getting my tuning down to 32, so I settled at 33hz. Hope it doesn't affect the sound too much... I'd imagine these subs will still shine...I'm amazed at every video i've seen with these subs. Quentin has something good going on with this line. I'm sure it won't be too long before Ethos is a very common name... I'm also sure I just bought a set of "pure pleasure!" drivers. My Camry is going to BANG! What's nice is they seem fairly musical as well. Come on and get here... I've got 4K waiting for them! In my opinion they are the best drivers on the market in the $350 price range. You will not find another small company that utilizes the massive amount of knowledge and experience in transducer design that I have at my disposal. Even the big boys use the engineers I have the blessing in receiving help from.
  14. yep, the 12's are mass loaded to be nearly the same as the 15's
  15. I noticed you said for the next order of Ethos, but is it possible to order the soft parts prior to that order? As in, are the new soft parts readily available, if not, ETA? For those who may want to recone for the added cooling and leads . Let's let Jon see if he can tear'em up first.
  16. I use SpeaD. It's the FEA program I use to design transducers.
  17. It's the new coil for the next order of Ethos. The windings are the same the color is just the coil bonder used. It has (6) 1/4 vent holes in the former to increase cooling and reduce back pressure under the cap. This set up has dual leads and one extra spider for those who are running tons of power for short periods of time.
  18. The Ethos in a 1.75 enclosure will move 30mm one way on 1,510 watts and 27mm one way on 1,220 watts

  20. Your box is a bit bigger than the recommended. Give me a few hours and I'll calculate how much power you will need to hit Xmax in 1.75 cft.Sent an email through the DSS site last week. Maybe it didnt go through. But regarding the box, the new one was never built. If I can use the same plan without paying for a new one, great. If not, it's not a big deal.Your the second person to tell me emails aren't going through. Guess I need to check it out. The bigger the box the less power you will need to hit Xmax. I can calculate how far the cone will move on your amp in the 1.75 cft box.

  22. Uh Oh.......

  24. http://directsoundsolutions.com/ You can purchase off the site. I have a hand few left and a few with minor cosmetic issues like scratches on the top and bottom plates. I'd let those go for $50 off each. If you don't mind the scratches (baskets and soft parts will be new and pristine) create an account on the site and I will give you a $100 store credit. ..does this apply to 15's aswell? Yea they use the same motor. I'll give you a $50 credit on each of whatever size you like.
