  1. understood, depending on the lid you have the lid's struts and/or hinges can protrude downward into the bed. You may have 20" some odd high bed rails but with the lid down you might only have 18 inches or so of clearance between the strut mounting bracket and the floor of the bed.
  2. You need to measure the height with the lid closed. You probally gonna lose four or five inches with the hinges and stuts and what not.
  3. Just find you a nice rich college chick and move in with her
  4. You're only 19. Don't put up with her BS. Would you rather have "wasted 6 years or stay with her and be miserable for no telling how much longer. How long has she lived with you and your parents? How long has she been pissed? It probally is not just the matter of bed time but the fact she feels uncomfortible living under the same roof as your parents. My girlfriend lived with me and my parents for about 3 years. And we fought a lot more than we do now. I can't help you with the fact she can't do simple math and figure out she can't afford to move out. But I have been with my girlfriend for 8 years and have lived with her for 6. I can tell you women do some carzy $hit we will never understand. And I don't care what women you are with they ARE going to drive you crazy.
  5. Will there be a 2 ohm model to get the 300 watts from the 6.2. Or will something be offered with 250 watts rms without bridging? Or i guess you could just use y adaptors when bridging to keep from messing up the soundstage.
  6. ohhhh, k that makes more sense. I would do the Icons. Naturally the 15's would be louder than the 12's and it would only run a little bit more $$$
  7. Man Nick, if I knew ya'll had the 4-channels out I would've made the kid with the M5 go with them instead of the Audison. It sure would have looked cleaner with two matching IA amps.
  8. What type of car do you have that will allow you to slide 6-8 feet in your trunk opening. Is this net or gross area?
  9. I have built 6 different enclosures for the 21's. I have found the subs "feels" louder at 8.5 feet tuned to 28 hertz. Although it metered louder at 10 ft tuned to 38 hertz. This was the last and best sounding box for daily listening I built. It gave those nice deeps lows while keeping the sub tight at higher frequencies with that nice painfull sting in the inner ear.
  10. I did a enclosure a few weeks ago for two IA 187's which has a mounting depth of 6 1/4. The subs were down fired with roughly 1.5 inches of clearance between the sub and floor. The enclosure had to have fiberglass bulges to allow the magnents to protrude from the enclosure.
  11. what year and model 150 do you have?
  12. MA never took it as contracted to so I gutted it sold th eequipment and paid ther car off. At the moment it is still gutted. But it has been tubbed with a custom 4 link with a 9" rear-end. We have been working on the monunts for the Tremec tko 6 speed and the Roush 588 off and on for the past few weeks. But with everything else going on it has been kinda slow.
  13. Yea, about 1500 hours of trial and error. Mostly error though. I told myself I would never work on another one again but sure enough I got another dam Mustang with a full custom job going right now.
  14. SSA woofers are nice. Two IA death penalty 12's are going in this ride.
  15. If u are going to do it make sure you do a good sub. Unlike in a trunk you are going to hear any distortion the sub makes. I say do it to it. This a mustang I am working on right now.
  16. Their site says the 15's will not ship till the second quarter. Going by the site the W0 has less power handling and less excursion than the W1. There is a night and day difference between a W1 and a 187. So the W0 should be no where near the 187's performance.
  17. Where is this John fella? I kinda feel bad for him. Ya'll keep reaming him and he hasn't came back with a come back yet.
  18. Mine had a camper top so I just took out my back glass
  19. I need to find my software for my termlab so I can meter my extra 21
  20. Diablo, do you have any pic or vids of your two 21's?
  21. Everything is going to be wrapped in black suede. It should be finished in about a week and a half.
  22. I had a thread in build logs but since IA is going in it I figured I would post here. It has 2 12 Dp's in a transmission line enclosure
  23. If you aren't worried about saving the space building a ported enclosure would allow you to tune the enclosure to get a nice low bass. If it is to loud you can always turn your gain down a little. Personally I like the sound of a low tuned ported enclosure over a sealed enclosure at any volume level. By the way did the sub come in yet?
  24. That is fantastic that you have all that knowledge on t/l enclosures. Instead of just saying my facts and figures are wrong use your extensive knowlege to add some helpful information Duke can use to build his enclosure.
  25. Most of my basic knowledge comes from diyaudio.com, quarter-wave.com, loudspeaker cookbook, and a few other sites and books. My db figures are from actually metering different enclosures. And your right about it not being easy for Alan to hit those type of numbers. I totaly agree, he didn't just throw a box in his truck and hit a 180. It took him years to get where he is at. But he has one woofer and Scott had 13 woofers. Going by the normal guidelines in order for Alan to be as loud as Scott his woofer would have to have the same excursion as Scott's 13 woofers. And the normal power rule is out the window because Alan is running around 40,000 watts and Scott had 156,000. So considering that, we would have to assume that there is a way to get extreme amounts of db increase from an enclosure.
