  1. preorder has officially begun. The production 15 and enclosure (3 cubic feet tuned to 32 hertz) has been sent to Pat Turnmire with Redrock Acoustics. While there he will be doing the following. LPM, linear Parameter Measurement or also known as small signal Thiele Small parameters. LSI, Large Signal Identification. Basically Thiele Small parameters with a higher voltage that excites the transducer to normal operating range. When a transducer is played there are parameter shifts that can very greatly from small signal parameters (during small signal testing the cone moves a fraction of a millimeter.) Knowing this information will help design a better enclosure to suit the driver. It will also measure things like xmax including 70% BL(20%distortion), 82%BL (10% distortion), 50% suspension compliance (20% distortion), and other parameters. Power Handling Confirmation, the sub will be mounted in the provided enclosure to verify RMS power ratings based on xmax and thermal compliance of the coil. This will give a real world rating to insure coil failure due to too much power will not be an issue. As of now I am the only small internet company using this testing method to get a proper RMS rating. While these tests are being performed Pat will be creating video tutorials explaining each test, and why its an important step in the design process.
  2. there are other better options for something not built in. Just google "J" or "K" type thermocouple
  3. English only. No dead languages allowed."Sanskrit? You major in a 3000 year old dead language? Yeah Here's Latin, that's the best I've got." Name the movie. PCU
  4. how do I find out What organization or individual created this site. http://nces.ed.gov/ Sister is doing a critique on the site and we can't find a webmaster link.
  5. 15 and enclosure are packed up ready to ship off to Patrick Turnmire for final testing verification. Preorder starts tonight at 12:01.
  6. Yea the original plexi is acrylic but they also have other materials that bear the plexi name. Stuff that is scratch resistant, PC, and other specialty stuff. But when people say Plexi they mean acrylic as it was the first to market. Trust me (and the plexi home page) Plexiglas is acrylic. I've got several sheets of plexi brand in the shop at the moment and a good bit of Lexan too.
  7. http://www.plexiglas.com/en/ Plexi is PMMA
  8. The entire top of the center consoles come off of those vehicles. If it were me I'd use the bottom shell of the factory and work my magic with the top. It would make for a much cleaner install.
  9. If you have a piedmont plastics near you I believe they sell retail and they CNC.
  10. He can use acrylic in place. IT's cheaper than PC also. They even make scratch resistant acrylics in any color or tint, and they're naturally resistant to nature and most chemicals aside from that which melts them.Plexi is acrylic. I say plexi as Kleenex is tissue. PC? As in polycarbonate? Yea it's about 1/3 more (at my wholesaler). And it's a bitch to buff. It is easier to cut however.
  11. Is this an enclosure or just console? Go on Fishman's YouTube and look at some of his installs. Him and Brian Schmitt are about the best around making custom installs appear factory.
  12. If that is the case I'd get a roll of protective fill like used on cell phones. If not its not gonna hold up long.
  13. Plexi will scratch all to hell with daily use. Depending on the type of plexi used ammonia based cleaners will make it fog up. And any alcohol based cleaners will make it spider web and crack.
  14. Is like to see pics of that set up.
  15. No, 10's and 18's will be available on the next production order. Due to the large amount of baskets I have to order it would have put me over budget.
  16. It's so shitty working away from home.
  17. Post a link to the video. Was this in a shop or warehouse? I can view it on mobile.
  18. Not even close. Even if the outlet was on a 20 amps breaker it's only getting 2,200 watts. 110volts at ~60 hertz times 20amps = 2400 watts. Anymore and the breaker would have thrown.
  19. It's cool the used the Big Red name. Looks like they even brought back the early 90's styling on the plastic.
