  2. my thoughts exactly ^^^^
  3. Go with the sundown hands down.....plus sundown customer service is awesome
  4. Thinking about (for budget reasons) trying to do the 149.9 class with 4 SSD 15's without a wall...just wondering if anyone thinks its possible....was thinking maybe a crx style box......vehicle is a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer EXT....
  5. just wondering if anyone is running a lot of power to their ssd's? and by a lot i mean 1000 watts or more......if so, how much power were/are you running to them and how do the subs take it? Just wondering cuz I've been having some financial issues and may not be able to do the monster system i planned to do this season.....I'd like to try and do the 149 class with 4 x 15in SSD's without a wall...
  6. that's one badass looking sub!
  7. Just wanted to say thanks to Jacob and everyone at Sundown for getting me my first 2 saz1500's so fast, as soon as I sell my laptop, i'll be ordering the other 2....should sound awesome on 8 x 15in SSDs in a ported clamshell!!! Thanks again Jacob!!! Now I just have to scrape the ice off the truck to put the stickers on, lol
  8. That should be fine.

how much room do you have in your car? measurements?

Fi is an awesome company.....absolutely cannot go wrong with any of their products. I dont know much about the X series (I've only used the BL and BTL), but have heard nothing but great things....another plus is this forum, you'll always be able to get advice on how to setup your fi subs. I say go with 3 (or even 4 :-) Fi X series. Great woofer at a great price, plus...its always more fun to show off more woofers.
  11. the saz-1500 would be a great way to go, i'll be running 4 of them!
  12. i looked at the arsenals and the reason I want to go with the ssd's is that i'll be able to add a bit more power later if i want
  13. I guess we'll have to see....still working on box designs, which could be a factor as well.
  14. I'll have 4 of the sundown saz-1500's
  15. ...I have the ability to add more amps with the ssd's as well
  16. Its looking like a bunch of SSD's or the Ascendant equivalent for the new bass race system, with the amps I will have each sub will be getting about 400-500 watts each (most likely 12 x 15's sealed)....i know thats below the rms rating for the ssd's but the idea is that I'll be able to demo and bang on the system a lot longer, plus i like having a 3in coil woofer. Just wondering if anyone has ever used SSD's with this kind of power? Results?
  17. that wasn't really necessary, it is and has been civil. I was asked to do it, so I did, your post were not the only post that were deleted, some of the thread starters post were deleted as well. I almost put them back, the information you removed was necessary as the OP still hasn't figured out the real solution nor was what I posted offensive. IMO as a manufacturer I'd be embarrassed to have someone competing (whether in bass race or something else) and putting up really small scores based on the fact that they have all sorts of cramped drivers. Having tons of drivers and 4 big amps in a space that really shouldn't have anywhere near is much is a waste. What exactly is a small number to you? Apparently you've built this exact system and know exactly what it will do - not to sound rude.
  18. Actually, the Kinetik 2400's and Powermaster 3100's were the 2 batteries i have it narrowed down to. I'm hoping to be able to afford a powermaster alt later on in the season too.
  19. what batteries do you guys think for bass race??? I'll be using 4 x sundown 1500's for amps.
  20. wall it!!! had a wall with 2 x 18's in my last car - actually saved my life when i rolled the car coming back form world finals - car was totaled but the wall wasnt damaged at all and actually kept me from getting crushed - damn thing was about 7 in thick in the weakest part lol
  21. Cool, I've got so many ideas that could work really well, i'm not sure what i'm going to do
  22. no problem, just had kind of a sh$$%y day, didnt mean to go off like that
  23. I appreciate the advice on using less subs etc.....and i realize that with 12 x 15's wouldnt be the optimal choice for spl/output -
  24. First of all, not going for spl here - its purely for show, and bass racing/daily groundpounding. M5 - definitely no need to start throwing insults out there. I've got my reasons for wanting to do a system like this - no reason to insult me - you have no idea what i do or dont understand. I had 8 x 12's in a focus 4dr - sucked on the meter but it street beat like a mofo - and i always had people crowded around my car at shows - even though there were lots of cars with fewer woofers that were louder. -shrug- Never said i was doing 12 x 15's for sure anyway - just that its an option i'm looking into.
