  1. Take care, and thanks for everything.
  2. Yes, for SPL. More usable power from the amp = good Z v.2 and NS v.2 both have shorting rings. Cooling purposes? If so wouldn't you want to ditch the pole vent? Just curious. Thanks.
  3. I'm just thinking out loud here, but an induction ring on a spl sub? Would the cost of the ring itself and the machining cost of a two piece top plate assembly offset the benefit for spl? Don't get me wrong it's nice to have, but for spl?
  4. Eff-in sexy man.
  5. Thanks. I like to know per your experience. Right now I meter 135 and change at 32Hz with the setup in my sig. If I step up to two 500 watt amps (2 US Acoustics USB-2150) and 2 18" IB3 is 140 possible?
  6. I'm kicking around the notion of upgrading my Atlas to IB3s. I wanted to know if the IB3 line was going to get upgraded to the single magnet design like the other sub lines did? If they are going to be updated, is there a time line? I'd like to get the latest and greatest. Thanks.
  7. I dont really get your question are you talking about the 1k5h ?? which has the half bridged technology >? Any of them..what are they switching at. You have a frequency in which the gates are opening or closing at..on the fets and/or transistors on the output stage (You can see this on an o-scope if you do not know, you just have to get in the range that they are operating at). The only amplifier in the world that is truly an amplifier is a class A, everything else switches via gates on a mosfet or a transistor..I want to know the operating frequency of that device. 100kHz? 120kHz? Higher? The smaller transformers and parts that are used the higher and harder the gates are being switched on fets/transistors..I want to know what this frequency range is. I once heard: "If you want to know buy one and take it apart." I mean no harm, I just poking around with a stick. Ha ha!
  8. MECA sound like NASCAR on restrictor plates. In MECA once runs have been completed are the fuses confiscated and verified? If not watch out here I come.
  9. I'd keep the Navigator. It's a bit more versatile audio wise and everyday use. If you need help with a box let me know. I've got all the tools and a garage. All you really need money for is the wood and the jager bombs
  10. Nice. I like the "behind the doors" stories. Good read, I hope to hear more after you trip Mark.
  11. Whoa, you guys feel that? I think someone just rocked the boat.
  12. Lucky guy. That's what I run in my creampuff.
  13. x2. Next meet you have, I might go for a very long drive if SSA funds approve of it lol sweet... i have already started making calls finding out more about local laws, and looking togetting to get a hand held meter so that we can pace out the distance that sound carries,. i have found a place that will be nice... im gonan get a hold of the owner joe, and see how much just for the place for one day.. with out the bars, food trailers, and such... that way we can bring our own beer drinks and food (bbq) and have a real good time while saving some doe. it has pole barns benches, restrooms, shade, chairs and more! check it out Home Page Let me know if you need help BigJon. I've got one of these you can borrow. Sound Level Meter This is going to be good.
  14. Check you out Vic sitting there all Joe Cool in what has to be 145+ db on music. I love it. Haha! Sorry I didn't get more pics fellas. Some of the extras I took didn't make the cut. Got to keep it semi professional, you know.
  15. Wow, I am surprised someone/ones would stoop to that level. I'm sorry you had to go through that BigJon. As if it's not enough to be having a stressful day, now you got to endure some of that behavior. Everyone, consider yourselves warned. This type of behavior will not be tolerated at the next meet, if there is one at all.
  16. Thanks for the compliments fellas. Next time I'll make sure and get some vids too. I'd have to say my favorite setup was Edward's Neo 12 in a 4th order BP. I was clean sounding and got plenty loud. The lanyard hanging off his rear view mirror was definitely dancing to the beat. Anybody have any favorites and why?
  17. Quit using. Even if you get this job. At some point or another you'll use the health insurance or have a workman's comp claim. They'll find out and you'll be screwed.
  18. This year's meet was a success. Thanks to those who made it out and many more to those who made it happen. Till next time, happy bumping.
  19. Alex was another that was able to make it out this year. His innocent looking Crown Vic packs a punch. Two 15" AudioQue SD 2.5 lets everyone know when he has arrived. Powering his 15" is a Sundown 1200-SAEv2. The mid's and high's are handled with a Phoenix Gold Ryval amp.
  20. Oscar is another familiar face that made it down from Austin. Here is a shot of his Voyager. Oscar stepped it up this year replacing his Kicker L7's with a pair of Fi BTLs. He also added some neon lighting to his box to highlight the Austin Skyline artwork on his plexiglass cover. Nice work Oscar.
  21. This is BigJon's new to him Navigator This is the business end of his setup. Here is where the party's at. BigJon's setup is like a mullet. Business in the front, party in the back.
  22. Another new face to join us is Vic. Him and his girlfriend made it all the way from College Station. Vic's Durango is more than it seems. I dig those headlights. Vic opted to replace his rear seats with a pair of Cresendo 3k amps and some Kinetic Batteries. Got port area? Vic was voted the loudest at the meet. An unofficial metering session produce a whopping 149db at 38Hz. Vic's running a pair of 18" BTLs with RE Audio re-cones. Many complained of headaches after demo-ing Vic's system.
  23. BigJon's buddy Ismael was able to make it out again for this year's meet. Ismael was another one of the few to get metered. It's hard to imagine this stock appearing Caddy is packing this custom work in the trunk.
  24. Cadillac Matt made it out with a few friends. Here is his Caddy in all it's glory. Soak it in fellas this might be the last we see of this legend. Matt's looking to move on. We wish him well.
