  1. thanks for the information.
  2. Ok I was wondering what is the typical impeadence rise of voice coils? this is why I ask. I have a TC sounds 3000 15 dvc 2 in a 3ft^3 sealed enclosure. I currently am running it in series to get a 4 ohm load on my Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1, This amp is 2 ohm stable. now I have read that at rest most coils are under their rating (please correct me if I am wrong) so does this mean when power is put to them that thay rise to their stated ohm? maybe totally dependent on manufacture? enclosure size? sealed? vented? my main question is is there a better way I should be wiring my sub to my amp? (or is this the best way) if I wired in parallel would I get a 1 ohm load or would it rise higher? Thanks Chad
  3. 4x4crazy, What year is your truck? does it have a 40-20-40 front seat? if so do you use the seat often? I have built several enclosures for 1994-2007 dodges from regular cabs to quadcabs. in my opinion for a single sub set up is to replace the center front seat bottom with an enclosure. you can build your own such as I did for my wifes truck or here is a link for one of the better prefab's I have seen. ( I have no personal knowledge of this box but it is where I had gotten the idea to build one and try it) http://cgi.ebay.com/Hot-Box-Dodge-Ram-Cust...1QQcmdZViewItem if you rarely use the center front seat this would be a great option for you and you can retain all of your under rear seat staorage. My wifes truck is a 98 quadcab I built a sealed enclosure .85ft^3 for a rockford fosgate 12p2 and I was able to reattach the center flip down. It's not the most comfotable but for short trips it is ok(lol) if I can help in any way just ask. Chad
  4. Well I wouldn't say it's better than the ssd but I just installed a cerwin vega 12.4 v-max in my friends car 1ft^3 sealed and it has great output and is still very musical. the sub is about $100.00 shipped I would say it is pretty hard to beat for the price. here's the link http://www.cerwinvegamobile.com/VMAX12.php Chad
  5. yes there is alot of good discussions going on. Here is what I was seeking though.( I may have stated it wrong in my original post. I was just referring to 8's and 15's but it could be any combonation) What I was looking for and I believe (Nstain) sorta touched on was what do you prefer and why? I am not asking which is louder or lower or can handle more power ect....(but that maybe why you prefer one over the other and thats cool) I have had 2-8's 2-10's 2-12's 1-12 1-15 I have had them in different combonations (vented, sealed, bandpass) So here is my question what set up do you prefer and why? Thanks Chad
  6. I currently have a TC 3000 15 DVC 2
  7. Ok I was looking at (6) AA Assassin Series 8"D4. so what do you think? Thanks Chad
  8. I am not sure really. I was just thinking of different installs I would like to try. I have a TC 3000 15 DVC 2 in my truck now. but I am always looking....lol I am open for suggestions of pos. combos Thanks Chad
  9. ok I am looking for opinions here. what do you guys feel are the advantages and disadvantages of running several 8" subs compared to a single 15". Asuming both are installed properly and run off the same amp at the same impedience. Thanks Chad
  10. I just installed a CV 12.4 v-max for a friend of mine. I put it in a 1ft^3 with no poly fill. this is in a 2000 toyota celica powered off a kenwood 8103 500 @ 2ohms. I don't think you will be disapointed. He listens to alot of hard rock and it works great. We were playing around with it and played some rap and this sub was flexin his car like crazy. Overall I was very impressed for a sub costing under $100 it is very musical and at the same time has very smooth output. Good luck Chad
  11. I have a TC3000 15 sealed running off a phoenix gold tantrum 1200.1 I currently have mine sealed and I have to say it is a great choice for SQ. as far as getting loud it does now but I plan on doing a 3ft^3 tuned to 32 hz just to play with. great choice Chad
  12. ok I have a chance to pick up one of these for a good price is it any good? does anyone have first hand experience? heres the info I found on it. 13. cubdenno - This is just what I have been wanting to hear. I also have a TC 3000 15 DVC 2. I have been looking for a new amp and the SAZ 1500d was at the top of my list. how do you like the sub ported? I have mine in a 3 ft^3 sealed enclosure powered off a phoenix gold tantrum 1200.1. the enclosure sits between my front seats facing the rear. I love the sub it hits the lows with athoritity but also blends well with rock. I am thinking of building a 3ft^3 vented enclosure tuned to 30 hz (now I just need to save some money....hehe) Thanks again Chad
  14. I was thinking of getting 2 Mach5Audio MJ-18 Single 4 ohm and running them off my Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 @ 2 ohms in a vented box 48 x 24 x 18 with 90 sq in of port tuned to 30 hz. this would go in inplace of the back seat of my 07 dodge quad cab. I was just wondering what your thoughts were on my box plans? each sub should see around 700 watts. this would be a purely show off setup for truck shows. any thoughts or opinions ??? thanks Chad
  15. I have quite alot of experience working with these trucks. I have had a 02, 04 and now have a 07 quad cab. How much air space do you need? How much port? You have a few options you can go with. 1. raise your back seat 2" easy to do and no safety issues, a added beefit to doing this besides more air space is that you can flip down the back of the seat then (for mounting amps-adjusting amps) you can get about 2.5ft^3 with not much work.you can also make a center front console/seat? do you need seating for 6? you can go with a custom center console. I have a custom center console right now with a TC 3000 DVC-2 about 3.25ft^3. Let me know if you need help with anything. I have had 2 10L7's under the back seat and I have installed some kicker 12 cvr's in my cousins quad. If you really like the 8's it is very possible to do what you want. any questions feel free to ask. Chad

  17. ok I think I got it. this is a 3.25ft^3 sealed enclosure it was also my first attempt at fiberglass. this is unfinished but I just put it in for some testing. I have sense turned it around and got a much better response. http://dodgetruckworld.tenmagazines.com/ga...2500/365432.jpg http://dodgetruckworld.tenmagazines.com/ga...2500/365433.jpg this is the only way I figured out to post pics sorry.

  21. ANeonRider, I was woundering if you have any installed pics of that enclosure. I would love to see them. Thanks Chad
  22. I have a 07 quad that I took the center seat out and put in a 15 TC 3k. I love lows I think you would be very happy with the 2 RLi8s sealed down firing, 600w would be ok. feed them 1000w and sit back and grin!! I would love to see pics when your done. you will have to brace that enclosure very well. Chad
