  1. are you leasing the new vehical? if so you may want to consider all that you will have to do to it to run 2 18"btl's with that much power. you will need electrical upgrades extra batteries and sound proofing ect........
  2. I agree with the single 15. I have a single 15 and love it. But it is also very install dependent. Chad also you have to factor in cost.
  3. Congrats! and nice truck
  4. you have alot of options, 2 FI bl's , 1 BTL, 1 mach 5 spl, incriminator, 2 SSA icon's....... and many more it all comes down to what you want. a daily pounder or comps, mix of both. so many choices I myself would like to try all of them and as soon as I hit the jackpot I just may. I know I didn't really answer your question. but with all the great choices I feel you will just have to pick what jumps out at you. as I am sure you have a few in mind.
  5. I hear you on the getting very expensive. I have a single 15 tc 3k and it pounds the lows while still having great output. so I say give it a shot. How much you want for the Q? what options? ohms?
  6. what amp would you be using? you may get the desired effect if you add another 12" q and more power. If you are wanting something different with a little more on the same amp then the IXL 15 is a good choice. I understand wanting to try new things, as I love my setup now but I am always wanting to try different things. Chad

Congrats, nice choice. I can't wait to see how it turns out. any questions give me a call.
  8. Not a reason I would buy a amp........Just my opinion of your options listed in this thread I would choose the Lanzar opti. I had one for years and abused the hell out of it and not one problem. just my 2 cents
  9. sure it's possible, if you go to the re audio box builder type in 13 width 14 high 24 depth 1.75 for port width 8 for length. then turn the enclosure so the port is facing back on top and mount your sub facing down. when down firing you have to center the sub between the seat brackets.

What about a SSD in a 2.5ft^3 tuned to 32hz? In my opinion it would still have the Sq your looking for, while still giving you "the feel" you want.
  11. what style you looking for? you could always use round ports.
  12. No I don't have a program. you could try the one on ssa under box tools. or on re audio web site. either would give you about what you are looking for. while still simple to use.
  13. OK you got me, I would much rather be attracted to the above. how ever to each his own I am not here to judge. you are attracted to things hard like a rock!!!!
  14. Really? lets just say this is a case where you get what you pay for.
  15. I understand if I had to see the back of a chevy all the time it would more than likely bother me as well HAHAHAHAHA
  16. I just saw that you have a Icon 10. great choice btw. I assumed from your sketches that you want to go vented. you could make that fit in either location. if you were to go sealed in a dodge you could make a center seat enclosure and retain the factory flip down arm rest. while the vented box would be to tall to do this. just some idea's
  17. Thats just funny!!!!!!!! No wait Thats really funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. I don't have any pics of reg cab enclosures. I also have limited exposure to chevy's. I have built many center console enclosures for dodges. You can go with up to 18" wide between the seats. If you mount the enclosure to the seat brackets you can go 18" high while still being very comfortable arm rest. as far as depth depending on if it is a 4x4 with the lever I would suggest 24" give or take a few inches that size would yield you about 2.6ft^3 after displacement tuned to around 32 hz with 41 sq inches of port area. if made out of .75" If you wanted to build behind the seat you have abuot 10" at the bottom and 7" at the top about 21" high by 56" wide. the cab tapers in several inches from the window line up. I have made a few of those as well, the only way to do that properly is to remove the seats and even then it is still a pain to get the enclosure in. If you want to use the flip down arm rest you also have to angle or reduce top depth for 18" in the middle. This enclosure also limits the subs to be used due to depth. when mounting a 12" as close to the bottom as pos. you still only have about 6" hope this helps and is not to confusing
  19. Have you thought about a single 15 BTL on a SAZ 3000d? just a thought more cone area then what you have now and twice the power, should yield favorable results. Just a thought.
  20. What kind of truck? dodge,ford,chevy......... ever thought about down firing port back on top? I have made a few center console enclosures and IMO, they sound best either back firing or sub down port back.
  21. I would love a few myself!! great power handling, great sounding, pure SEX. Great idea if at all possible
  22. I am thinking 1.6ft^3 for the 2. I could extend the port farther back firing under the back seat with out limiting much leg room. Opinions?
  23. So I have been tossing around a few ideas. 1st I am thinking of running 2 IXL 10's in a center console, vented enclosure tuned to 32hz (not sure what cuft would be best?) these would be run off my 1200.1 Tantrum @ 2 ohms The goal of this set up is to save some space over my current set up while maintaining similar output. My current set up is a single TC sounds 15 3k 3.2ft^3 tuned to 32hz. (I love everything about this set up, just wanting to try something new) The space I would like to stay in for this new set up would be 20" high x18"wide x 24"depth subs and port both facing back. what would be the optimal cuft and port area? so that is the 1st and most practical set up. now for the 2nd and the fun one!! This will take place some time next year or as soon as money/time allows. My thoughts are a center console with 4 IXL 10's subs and port facing up ran @ 1 ohm off a sundown saz 3000. Goal here is to be stupid loud while sounding decent and staying with in 34" long x 18" wide x 20" high. I know I have some more work to do on my electrical as well, thats why this one will be further done the road and I'll slowly be buying what I need. thoughts and opinions are welcomed Thanks Chad
