  1. If he doesn't answer by the time I get my alternator in around a week I'll ask Aaron about it, but no worries till then.
  2. ahh well I'm sure he's backed up with emails, I sent him one a while back asking for a shipping quote for 4 ssa dcon 15s.
  3. When does he get back? keep hearing hes out of town, but I'm just curious so I know around the time he will get back to me.
  4. I'm just trying it out, even if I did like them, I likely wouldn't keep it there as I like changing things a lot.
  5. Tweeter kinda has to be sealed cause of where it's being put, but the mids will just be in the doors. so unless it will make a big difference I likely won't seal those off, considering how difficult that is.
  6. How about we go this way with this thread, this is kinda of a mess, ignore everything about the crescendos, I'm going to pick out some some raw drivers, and you guys can give your opinion on if they will mate well, and if I'm going in the right direction with my choices driver wise. Agreeable? Makes things a little easier for you guys hopefully. Also before that what should I look for, as in some generalities that make a driver better then another one? And what not good maybe? That'd probably help
  7. I'm going active cause Ive used the 80prs and I love it, and it would be a shame not to use it's best feature
  8. I feel like I'm not getting everything across, and the situation. I'm not sure how the best way to choose a speaker, I don't have enough experience. What I go on is frequency response, sensitivity, and rms. I usually look at the graphs and such also. I'm learning, but trying different things is part of that. Anyways I am listening to you guys, for sure. don't get me wrong. If it sounds as bad as you say then it will change don't think everything is set in stone. Hopefully all this clears this thread a little.
  9. Sorry for 3 posts in a row but I noticed you said I didn't say a budget either, but that has also been said. Agian around 100 dollars per speaker. Maybe slightly more though 100-150 would be fine.
  10. Oh an also in reference to location, I've said that several times, so maybe you should reread, ill make it easy for you though if I wasn't clear enough. Tweeters are going in the a pillars at an Angle slightly towards windshield. I've heard lots of tweeters like this and I like the broad sound it gives. The mids I'm gonna mount to the doors pretty much the way anybody would, if I do multiple mids in each door ill glass but otherwise just factory 6.5 location.
  11. There's no reason to hate so hard, I read up on them before I bought them and they had good reviews, obviously not the best tweeter and its built for loudness, but that's not why I was going for, if I don't like it then I can sell them. It's not a big deal, I've already got my eye on some tweets and mids from madisound. They are quite a bit more expensive but I'm willing to try a few different speakers to see what I like. You guys are straight up and I know that, but there's a point where it's your overreacting. ONCE AGIAN, I'm just trying different things out. Cause I'm not sure exactly what I want. Anyways ill still check my mounting depth tonight when I'm changing my tires, and get back to you guys to see if the ones I'm looking at are a good match. Thanks guys.
  12. since im not getting much help im gonna go ahead and do it the way I had planned, If I dont like it ill try some other drivers. Simple as that. thanks anyways.
  13. Well Ive contacted a few of these companies and for some reason the max amp alternator they can do for my truck is 240amp. I was hoping for 300amps but I guess 240 will do for now. not sure what I can do about that once I upgrade again though.
  14. at max it should pull right below the amps fuse rating. at least normally from what I understand.
  15. Its a five star audio 15 champion series. five star audio is a family owned cleveland ohio company, that started in 1990. I think it has a 3in vc, 700rms. phone number I believe.. to confirm specs. if it works, not sure.. 216 475-5868 edit: Five Star Audio 12 Champion Series Specs: 2200w max, 900w rms, Dual 4 ohm, 200oz. Magnet, 3" voice coil since its the same series probably the same specs.
  16. For this build not that much, probably around 2600, but when I upgrade agian 240 is probably not gonna cut it
  17. I'll measure the depth this weekend.. On a depressing note I talked to mechman and singer and they both said the max amp alternator they can build for my truck is 240amps. Which doesn't make sense to me, but idk... Guess I'm just going to buy a bunch of batteries...
  18. Haha yeah I really enjoy reading threads like this. makes my day.
  19. It's been a couple weeks and he hasn't so I've moved on to other companies.
  20. Yeah I heard that a few days ago and that's why I was waiting before sending another email or emailing someone else type of thing. I talked to Aaron before emailing mark, he's the one who told me to talk to mark about the quote. Thanks for the reply though guys Hopefully I can work everything out so I can get this build going ASAP!
  21. tweeters in/on A pillars mids in doors What kind of depth can you fit in your doors? How big of a tweeter can you fit? I'm assuming a pretty big tweeter if you were planning on those super tweeters haha. I would have done pods for the tweeters, the A pillars on my truck are small and just solid metal. Lots of room for mids, not quite sure on depth, but I can glass the doors and add depth that way if necessary.

  23. I have not bought the deck yet. soon hopefully. I mean reasonably so, didn't mean equally as loud haha. That seems like basically what I'm looking for. Trust me if you work with the vast amount of super knowledgeable people on here (I'm not one of them, but I'm no idiot ) You can have something that will blow away what you were looking at. ehhh.. at least give me a brand to look at haha, I need something to work with other then: pick something better. and no one else is chiming in so I'm looking at you There isn't a specific brand to look at. Look here http://www.parts-express.com/cat/home-audio-woofers-midranges-tweeters/13 and here http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/speaker-drivers/ I have actually looked in both those places, but ill search around a bit more.
