  1. What amusement park is that in the background of the first picture?
  2. They do pop extremely fast however, especially with a near short.
  3. Yes. but even then I'm going to say the max was 2,000 watts.
  4. Jus so you know a wall socket is only capable of 1800 watts, not the ridiculous 14,000 I have seen mentioned. A breaker is 15 amps with 120Vrms at the socket, Power=Voltage*Current, so 15*120 = 1800 watts, not 14,000.
  5. No, it isn't. The new Mag can play up in those ranges without a problem.
  6. Yes, you added a Tool album!!! I love Tool! Also Nick, YGPM.
  7. You really need to listen to some Pink Floyd, my suggestion would be Comfortably Numb, Another Brick in the Wall, Mother, well hell, pretty much all of Pink Floyd's stuff. It has amazing SQ and very tight and controlled bass that hits pretty good. Whenever I demo my car or home stereo those are the songs I use.
  8. Don't have the money to go active so I would prefer a passive x-over.
  9. http://www.adireaudio.com/Files/ Figured I'd just link to all of Adire's files.
  10. No offense but in terms of SQ Nick's drivers kick Fi's drivers asses.
  11. Lol, not at all strange, totally as expected.
  12. Like the title says I was actually just wondering if you have any plans to re enter the component set market.

I disagree with a lot of the sentiment here, I like CA.com, it has decent advice, especially members like Audioholic. Yes they are quite cliquey and can be very annoying. I also like the fact that its fast moving and the lounge is entertaining. But generally the level of intelligence and car audio knowledge is higher here, but it can take quite awhile to get answers to questions where generally you'll have an answer within 30 minutes there.
  14. Basically set the HU at the max volume and bass settings you would use it at, play a ~50hz sine wave and hook up the o-scope to the output. Adjust the gain so it looks like a pure sine wave: If you get a readout like this you are clipping, turn the gain down until it looks normal.
  15. Hey Nick, are you ever going to make component sets again?
  16. Nice, I wish I could get metered with my 2 subs, I have no clue what they are hitting.
  17. You shouldn't because the Mag pwns all others
  18. I have 2 BM 12" subs. They have the 12 spokes or whatever. I cannot find the T/S specs on these things for jack. The shop I'm having build my box wants these specs so that he can enter the information into a computer and get dimensions for a box (some rockford fosgate program). Is there a way to get T/S specs for this? Or should I just tell him 4 feet ^ 3, tuned to 34? How big on the port? Thanks in advance. Nick knows his drivers better than the shop. Do 4 ft^3 @ 34 hz, tell them the xmax is 16mm and they should be able to determine port area from that.
  19. Since when was a brand new mag $300? Since now, read the thread, Nick said the new MAg should be available for under $275 shipped.
  20. So you are recommending sealed rather than ported? If ported what is the optimal size enclosure tuned at what frequency and how much power can they handle in the optimal ported enclosure?
  21. Exactly, give me solid state and a CD or DVD Audio or SACD and I'm set. vinyl and vacuum tubes FTW If you like ass loads of distortion then yes.
  22. Damn, those are pretty impressive scores.
  23. Exactly, give me solid state and a CD or DVD Audio or SACD and I'm set.
  24. I see how you are, one of those vinyl purists Vinyl is arguably the purest form of audio playback... Very arguably, and I will never EVER be convinced of it.
