  1. thats crazy...but that means its quality stuff...as my comps still work and sound good!
  2. idk about u guys but these drives look ALOT like the early mid 90s(especially round 93-98) kicker comps... whats funny about that is that i have a pair of kicker comp 10s from the mid 90s sittin upstairs in my room in a 2ft^3 box...them bad boys are old but stil rockin and are pretty tight...people used to think my dad had 2 12s....they only ran off of 100 watts a piece but took it like champs!
  3. I ran the Thiele/Small specs thru the Efficiency Bandwidth Product (EBP) formula...and got a number of 49.0566...which is actually in the range of suited best for sealed, but right on the borderline for being a flexible enclosure sub. Fs/Qes i think ill try it in a 4 cu ft. ported tuned to 30hz http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported...mp;Fs=&CE=0 and this sealed 2.5 cu ft enclosure w/polyfill(about 2-3 pound per side) http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=260-648 and keep the one that sounds best to my ear
  4. good stuff...so a box roudn 3.5-4.2 cu ft at 28-32hz wuld be sufficient for the SD-1(2 12s)...correct?
  5. Well I AM A young gun(16 years of age) so impressing the friends is a goal...but end the end...if they sound 100 times better than the garbage my friends get ill have the last laugh BTW...whats the driver displacement on the 12 inch model?
  6. Great set, but no where near the 130's... whachu mean by no where near the 130's???? do you mean i will be under that number or over? I think he means your component set won't get you into the 130s Meaning your sub stage, if it was in the 130s, would be louder than the front stage. I think they should make a new classification of car audio setups....It gets pretty loud and doesnt sound bad doing it...more like loud but doesnt sound like poo... lol Im pretty sold on the subs though w/ these subs would u go sealed or ported if i was looking for accurate deep and big bass?
  7. Great set, but no where near the 130's... whachu mean by no where near the 130's???? do you mean i will be under that number or over?
  8. dokey... front stage...probably these Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=17068 and some good dampening!
  9. 130 is my target...ill probably get a box built for them...they are very reasonably priced...ill be making an order soon... LSQ is my goal For 2 12s ported....what size should i go on my box?(tuned low(around 30-28hz)
  10. well im 16 and im probably about to get a job in about a week so...thas why i was wondering how many units were still in stock... this will be my system... how loud do these things get...im not a numbers guy... but you do you think i could hit 120-125 dbs sealed or ported tuned to about 28hz w/ 2 of the 12s....
  11. how many of those 12s do you have left?
  12. ok...well disreguarding the amp situation....unbiasedly...out of my woofer choices...which one is the best price/performance ratio, sq, spl, blend, lowend?
  13. welll if u guys dont like that amp...what do u all suggest? remember..im on a budget...low...i want to spend around 600-800 for the system...but im willing to go a lil higher...
  14. probably someting along the lines of this... Hifonics TXi1007D http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=18140
  15. A single 12 setup would be the best option spacewise in my trunk and help me achieve the goal of LSQ....lol. I found a box that fits the criteria within the recommended specs for each woofer http://cgi.ebay.com/12-RE-AUDIO-SE-ENCLOSU...1QQcmdZViewItem the box is 2 cu. ft. tuned to 32 hz.... which is within the recommended enclosures for each woofer as i have previously stated. Yes this box is in essence prefab...but its properly built. I dont feel like building a box myself...someone can build me one for cheaper than i can get this one w/ shipping. Here are the contenders... SSA Icon 12 $249.00 Fi SSD 12 $189.00 RE Audio SE 12 $172.49 AA Arsenal 12 $175.00 any others in this price range? keep in mind my criteria are: ability to play in the 25-40 hz range with ease and clarity punchiness.... loudness..or the ablity to impress when i feel neccessary Sound quality(clarity, fidelity) Blend w/ the frontstage(that is install dependent as well though) PRICE....im in high school on a budget! I want your opinions and disadvantages and advantages of each woofer. Why you would or would not purchase the woofer. Thanks Sham
  16. When is the IXL 12.4 or 15.4 coming...i need a competitor(price and soundwise) to the icon12
  17. Well maybe i mean...how accurately do they reproduce notes and the clarity of which they perform that. Also how they handle the lows as well.
  18. How many watts would u guys run to a pair...as they are rated for 250 rms, but i hear they are vastly underatted. And what size ported box...tuned low...34-30 hz. Probably around 3-3.25 cu ft. net sound good? ALso wats the sq on these puppies? Thanks Sham ps...sorry for the vague questions
  19. welll then what do you reccomend for 250 and down?
  20. well i intend to seal them...as the mb's im looking at are engineered for sealed boxes...but i have been hard looking for good component sets! and dampening!
  21. thanks for the feedback...i love my ears...so output isnt my goal...i wanna wow people with music they know and nuances they never heard...sq is the ultimate goal...yes 2 15s is not the norm for a sq(LSQ) system but hey...everybody is different
  22. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=3417 thinking 2 of these sukers in a 3.25 cu ft. box sealed....they are 1.5 reccomended anybody gotem...or heard em...i hear they are pretty darn smooth im not really looking for output
  23. Cmon...why do you have to clown my english. If you actually knew me...you'd know i dont really talk like that...but no big deal. Ok I will go ahead and list the components Clif Designs PX650C Infinity Reference 6020CS Kenwood eXcelon KFC-X1710P Phoenix Gold RSd65cs CDT Audio KA-61 - CDT Audio Kama K-Series CDT Audio CL-S60A - CDT Audio Classic
  24. yeah...when i get to the house...im at skool right now
  25. thanks...ill look into it...im running into problems with box sizes...i measured my trunk and its not very big....unless i take the spare tire out...should i? b/c i change my mind everyday i figured a single 12 setup would give me ample SPL....but good SQ as well so i narrowed it down to the SSA ICON 12 and the FI Q 12...and the ixl12 when it comes out.... my trunk is 50 inches wide on the lid... but only 20inches high( from floor to top), also it has lots of dips and bumps that rise out of it b/c of how the car is built. Also the spare tire is right in the middle of the trunk...so i moved it to the side to get some more room. Probably the deepest i could have a box and still fit my spare is bout 22 inches deep...so i ll get the pics and show you guys what im talking bout so hows that ixl 12 coming along and when can we expect it?
