My personal opinion is do it if you have the electrical to back it. With a daily type of impedence rise on music it will never be a factor. Just my opinion. BTW, those that see only 800 more watts going to .5ohm from 1.0ohm didn't have enough to give the amp.

Have a local shop rewind your alt for a little more amperage or look into an aftermarket unit. I can't live without them on my cars.
