  1. ^ya im going to try a seat belt lol i have 2 sd-2 10's behind the seat but its just not enough
  2. hey guys, im about to build a ported box to sit on my back seat, just for a little fun. amp is an saz1500d@1 ohm wired up to a diehard gold with 2/0 welding cable I realize box recommendations are 1.5 to 2 cubes ported at around 30-35hz with 12-15sq inches of port area per cube, but i was wondering if there was something more exact due to my lower power and config (being in a truck on the seat) its going to be a slot port because im going to use re's box calculator. oh and i planned on going sub firing up and port facing the windshield, is this a good or bad idea? im just looking for a daily street beater
  3. Problem is I got lots of cash and no job ATM so I'm just going to build a new one with a slot port
  4. Ya just one 12, I'm waiting to get to a computer to use re's box calculator. Any suggestions on size and tuning off 1500 watts?
  5. Box dimensions are 24x16x17.5 external with 3/4 inch mdf. Vehicle is a 2006 Tacoma double cab box is on the back seat And I'm in Canada, I have no idea where to rider from either
  6. And that's exactly what it sounds like, someone wall socketing a sub, that death sound lol no worries I'll quit till I make it smaller.
  7. Thanks guys, that was my next guess, this thing is MOVING at half gain and less than half volume on my deck. It's sounds BAD I've never had a sub in my career make this noise. This box is temporary till I build a ported, unless there is an easy way to figure out how wide and long it needs to be I agree the box is too big but I didn't think it would cause this much crap. I will try adding blocks or something.
  8. Off 1500 watts in a sealed box? It dosent seem nearly as loud as it should be. Before I had the amp pushing 2 12 inch type rs in a big ported box and they never once made a noise like this and I honestly tried blowing them on occasion and they just got louder and louder? I sure hope a 12 inch zv3 can take more power sealed than 2 hype rs ported?
  9. Hey everyone, bought my zv3 months ago and finally got around to installing it. I had an old sealed box that I threw it in, it's on the large side at about 3.7 cubic feet amp is an saz1500v1. Problem is that when I turn it up to really get the sub moving I get loud sharp cracking noises and an occasional pop! It sounds really good at lower volume but cranked up it starts to go crazy. Any ideas? My gain is at about half bass boost at 0 it sounds like it bottoms out but I couldn't even get my type rs to do that off this amp??
  10. make em fit under a truck bench!
  11. also got my saz1500d repaired there. it was fast, and hasent let me down since.
  12. I'm actually in the same situation. currently running 2 12" R's in 5 cubic feet before displacement, and around 32hz . box is slot ported with alot of port area, subs up port back in a 2 door 98 blazer. Running off a 1500D. I mean, it gets really loud, has like 2 inches of roof flex and all that good stuff. but im a little worried to push em any harder than i am, think i need some sa-12's myself.
  13. can a 200 amp alt. 1 optima redtop and a 250amp inline fuse support it?
  14. with a $160 sony digi. drivers door open, and i think 25 or 26 out of 32 on the h.u, loudest i play it on music all tuned by ear also have PG rsd's on a concept 75x2
  15. this has to be a joke.....
