  1. Very nice! I'm looking forward to the next video.
  2. You will need "pre outs" to run external amplifiers. I would look at a Pioneer head unit that fits your budget. Something like this would be nice. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PIONEER-DEH-P9400BH-CAR-CD-IPOD-MP3-WMA-USB-PLAYER-RECEIVER-BLUETOOTH-HD-RADIO-/390488764853?pt=Car_Audio_In_Dash_Receivers&hash=item5aeaf1b1b5
  3. These are great for a budget setup. What features do you need in your cd player? Welcome to SSA! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Boston-Acoustics-GT-2125-600W-GT-Reference-2-Channel-Power-Car-Amplifier-Amp-/300805007741?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item460960297d http://www.ebay.com/itm/CTX65CS-IMAGE-DYNAMICS-NEW-6-5-PRO-COMPONENT-SPEAKERS-/120726132232?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item1c1bd69608
  4. This is what I will most likely be doing. It does have a rear usb. I have played with locations a bit and they are tolerable. I just prefer a more laid back tweeter, more like the Alpine ring radiator which is supposedly made by Scanspeak. That's what I had an issue with when I used my Kenwood deck 4 years ago, loved every bit of it except I couldn't see the display in direct sunlight even with 5% tint. That sucks to hear because I wanted to go back to Kenwood. I do REALLY like it. I somehow get night and day better mid bass than with my 880. I'm honestly thinking that something was wrong with my Pioneer that is how big of a difference there is. This is why I was never happy with my mid bass output and kept changing drivers. The screen is killing me though.
  5. Thanks Jon!
  6. As for the head unit I like everything about it except for the display. It is very hard to see in direct sunlight and I have 5% tint everywhere but the windshield.
  7. I have my Type X mids and some American bass tweeters running active off of the 800.4, and after messing around with the settings for a while I am surprisingly happy. I am not a huge fan of the tweets (got them in a trade deal) but overall it sounds pretty damn good. I might stick with this setup and swap the tweeters for something else. I am not a sound quality freak by any means but I do understand staging a little bit. I enjoy the mids much more than with the passive crossover. Keep in mind that everything else has changed too. (head unit, wiring, and amp) All in all I'm pleased with the new front stage setup.
  8. I don't see it happening.
  9. Bump, I will accept reasonable offers.
  10. I live a little over an hour from the border, and you won't catch me there.
  11. MEXICO...say hello to the cartel for me.
  12. Yay!!
  13. I was just having a similar conversation with my Mastiff.
  14. Not really.
  15. Forward...toward the edge of the cliff.
  16. Wow......four more years
  17. The ultimate decision is up to Steve so who knows.
  18. Head unit installed! BT mic location
  19. Thanks man! Running some wire now, my car is gutted and I need to drive it tomorrow morning. It is going to be a long night.
  20. I'm not positive yet. It will really depend on if the Alpine's sell. If I can't get enough for them I'll most likely keep them. I really do like them but I am tossing around ideas for an active setup.
