The V40 Rebuild, Front Stage Only. Update: Rear cargo area.
Michael's, or Joanne's. If Walmart does have it that might be the best price wise. Thanks E, nice trick!

The V40 Rebuild, Front Stage Only. Update: Rear cargo area.
Haha wow YEP. lol. I noticed the mounting piece but didn't see any good place to make use of it. Figured I'd cut some wood and make a little frame for the display then stick it somewhere. After mounting the frame, I was like WTF, I could just use the mounting piece here and it would look ten times better, god dammit. Sounds like something I'd do, looks good though.

If it were me I'd throw it in a word processing program. Little stuff like not capitalizing I and not using apostrophes can make people not take you as seriously. Also did you mean "To whom it may concern"? Not trying to be a dick just help you out.

Should be awesome, definitely something that I'll have to hear. I might go active soon too so it'll be nice to hear the Exodus in person. Good luck man.

Setting Gain
The sub is far more likely to be damaged free air than in the box.

Spinning Sub Woofer enclosure?
Agreed.

Fi Q 10 - Not incredibly loud
I am supporting you're statement that clipping doesn't directly cause damage it's the increase in power. I also agree that you aren't going to blow a Q with a 500 watt amp no matter what you do.

Setting Gain
Thats what I am hoping the sound just sounded very strange to me, the reason i was playing it out of the box because i am thinking the is a problem with the gain. I remember in my old set-up when i turned the gain know to min the sub wouldn't move. Now at 60% volume the gain does nothing to alter the sounds of the woofer. Still don't understand why you would play it out of the box?

Setting Gain
It could be a loose dustcap. When you apply even pressure to the cone around the dustcap do you get any coil rub? Why are you playing the sub out of the box??

Fi Q 10 - Not incredibly loud
Clipping causes a spike in POWER, thus it is the spike in POWER that causes the subwoofer to fail. The extra power is to blame for the excess heat which causes damage.

Spinning Sub Woofer enclosure?
Has to have cancellation issues right? Looks kinda cool though.

I'm an idiot
It really sucked at the time, but looking back it was a lesson learned and Idk if I'd have half the knowledge about car audio that I do had it not happened.

On top of doing it they decided to use a splitter on the remaining channel and not tell me. My front stage was running off of a single channel on a two channel amp. The worst part about this was that it was all new equiptment that I bought from THEM. They broke my A pillar, used 8 gauge for a 1000 watt amp. I had to go to work after I picked up the car, so I couldn't bring it back until the next day. They denied it all and said I must have done it after I left. That was when I was 16 and the reason I learned how to do things myself.

Fi Q 10 - Not incredibly loud
I understand your point but chances are someone who starts a thread like this isn't very knowledgeable and wouldn't be able to judge whether it was good or bad. And the scenarios where cranking the gain literally all the way up is okay are few and far between. Not arguing with you, just trying to better explain what I meant.

Fi Q 10 - Not incredibly loud
No, but it isn't a good thing.

Low Pass Filter at 140hz, no Subsonic Filter on this amp. Gain 100%, Bass Boost 0%. Equilizer on the headunit is flat/off. Had to raise the LPF really high since my components really lack on the midbass, I tried it down at 60-70hz and it didn't really increase the power output anyhow. Also, Bass Boost seems like the obvious choice, but like we all know, turning that crap up even a little distorts the hell out of the output. Gain 100 percent??

Maybe try this http://www.instructables.com/community/Removing-Broken-Pin-from-an-RCA-Jack/
-
I'm an idiot
It was a pita but I did it after a shop broke the RCA pins inside my amp inputs. On my Alpine you couldn't push them out from the inside.
-
I'm an idiot
Try soldering something to the pin inside the RCA and pull it out.

ssa log for t-shirt
I didn't have a problem. Did you unzip it? After I unzipped it, it opened in Quicktime picture viewer for some reason.

(6) 15's 24 cubic feet net enclosure
Nope, you got to read the fine print on the tube. It states "nominal" 12 inch. I don't understand why they are off that much either. Very good to know, I've wanted to use them but there were 10" tubes bigger than the 12" ones so I decided not to. I didn't know that they had "fine print" to read.
