  1. He doesnt have to, a friend of his locally bought one of my old SP4 18's. He could do a direct swap if he wanted to for comparison sakes. Sounds like a good idea to me!
  2. I can almost guarantee that if you port it, you'll be happy.
  3. Sencheezy.....buy an SP4 and report back asap. Okay?
  4. Height is 13, that is the only dimension that I am sure about. I can't find any "final" plan in my emails or Pm's, but I did confirm that it is 4 net @ 32hz in this thread. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/52212-2-sa12-enclosure-for-2011-malibu/page-2Looks great nice work on the box, my box was 13.5 height, 35 width, 27 depth. Rick you build and ship enclosures. I did it for a little while a few years back.

  6. I'll find it.
  7. x2, if you don't want to change equipment I would try a new box. Most trunks do well with a side firing port and subs either rear or forward firing for daily. This should be the cheapest fix with buying new gear.I'm not against different equipment. I would like to keep the box but at this point I'm not stuck on that either. I have some other stuff in the garage.. I'm assuming as far as equipment changing your talking about subs and enclosure not amps. I have a 12" Treo SSX 2000rms d2, a 12" Fi Q d2. I have a few different single 12 boxes with different volumes and port/sub orientation. Maybe a smaller box allowing more air to pass thru the trunk will be better? Sometimes less is more. You might be better off with a smaller enclosure leaving more space to vent into the cabin.
  8. Yeah give it a try, you might be getting crazy cancellation with it not sealed.
  9. Hmmm, maybe you're just expecting too much from them in your car?? Have you messed with the gain or any other settings after swapping vehicles?
  10. Is that the box I did for you? Sorry it has been a while.
  11. Try stuffing blankets around the opening and fire it into the cabin. Sealing the trunk from the cabin.
  12. Two very different drivers. If money isn't a deciding factor the gcon wins this battle every time.
  13. Ideally yes, but some setups don't lose much with the seats up. It really is install dependent.
  14. Could you do maybe a 4th order bandpass ported into your cabin? Or 6th Nope, that puts you into mod classes if I'm not mistaken.
  15. It has me thinking about a new build....even though I still have stuff laying around for my current build.
  16. Thanks man! It sucks but there isn't anyone to blame but myself. Time to fix it! My legs are very strong though
  17. A ported enclosure will be considerably louder and can sound just as good. How do you know that it is getting 800 watts?
  18. Why do you want a band pass and not a standard vented 4th order?
  19. You could use the wood to replace your "Horrible MDF Box - 3.5^3 @ 37Hz" lol. If you want to make something for subs that is one thing but using those would be a waste.
  20. Yup, if you are just looking for a "little more" a ported enclosure should make you happy. Assuming you have enough room for one.
  21. Hell yeah! Good job.
  22. This is not very well thought out and a waste of wood. I'm not trying to discourage you, just save you time.
  23. Different sub = different enclosure requirements.
