  1. well it probably sounds like crap when its doing a 150+ on 3000 watts...
  2. ok so here is what happened when me and a friend got bored with a can of gold paint......
  3. yeah the exploder deffinately has mid 125 drive bys in it but i got greedy pushed the volume too far and blew the fuses with like 5 seconds to go doing like a 126.2 i think... oh well ill get it down..
  4. Ok i have been competing in an 02 ford explorer (third gen) with two 12'' nightshades, 2 1500s, and a big ol battery box in the back.. sub up expernal aero ports back, i am looking at ways to make the vehicle louder not get more power as i am reaching my limitation running in MECA s2, anyone with any suggestions i am at a loss for ideas, also it has the third row seat which make the vehicle about a foot longer than the one without in 3rd gen models..
  5. yeap poor old pbx has had a hard life.. it was an awesome show i met some local guys running sundown as well maby someday i can break a 149 at a show other than world finals...
  6. also buy 2 6'' ports for that setup.. running more than two ports creates a lot of turbulance in the enclosure .. we have seen big increases from moving to like 2 6'' ports vs 3 4'' ports..
  7. a lot of it is in finding the resonant frequency of the vehicle... like my volvo with 2 saz1500s and 2 12 nightshades was doing a 148 at 32hz... also blazers usually like sub and port up... you can also do a sub up bort back setup like i have in the explorer... also if you havent experiement with aero ports.. they tend to peak at tuning and are very easy to change tuning... get the ports from www.partsexpress.com they are called the precision port..
  8. in my opion i think it would be very hard to get an extremely flaat response like you are talking about with a stiff "loud" oriented woofer like the nightshade...
  9. i got an SQ setup in the works for the volvo!!! but just in case anyone forgot heres what a team sundown street setup does
  10. shoe goo... has been holding both my woofers together for like 8 months ish... and its cheap..
  11. dude just look around and remove any screws around the door handel. then simply lift up on the pannel it will come right off and unhook things like power windows and door locks accordingly.. these vehicle are very easy compared to the older GM products.. no clips to break.
  12. firing subs back in a volvo isnt loud.. lol.. jsut my 2 cents workth sub forward port to the side has been very successful for my team in trunk cars.
  13. i have 2 1500s at 1/2 ohm each in two vehicles with stock alt. but i did have at least 3 batteries.
  14. yep everyone has old nintendo cords... hehe
  15. i was tuned at 34hz with aeros in my volvo box that was like 4.2 cubes or close to that... and it unloaded pretty bad and was very stressfull on the woofer.. i was strapped at 1ohm each amp seeing 1/2 but still i think it would make sure to get each woofer 1.5 cubes or close to that.
  16. depends at what impedence are you strapping the amps at.. if you are strapping at a nominal 1ohm then i would make the enclosure smaller to 1.5cubes and its also kinda based on where you are tuning to .. if you are tuning really low i would make sure to keep the box small with a lot of power because at some frequencies far from tuning it will unload and you could overextend the woofer which is what i have done in the past..
  17. ohh never mind lol i was thinkin thats what we usually figure for my boxes... with 2 of them.. hehe... "BLOND" moment!!
  18. honestly you could use that box you have for the BL and be fine.. i dunno how much mounting depth you have but u may need a spacing ring..
  19. cant remember the x max.. not important.. lol.. but it displaces about .5cubes and yes you will be eatin the dash...
  20. honestly i think 1000/1 is probably plenty enough power to get one DAILY loud... especially in a nice ported enclosure... with less power you could go a little bigger and probably get more output but i think you would be happy.. i know i would.
  21. i would do sub up port to the side.. you can tune to what you like with the aero and will most likely do a good spl score if you go to a comp.
  22. my world title box is a single layer of 3/4'' mdf... wiht a single dowell rod brace in the middle...... also i dont think he has room for sub up port back in that car...and still have 5'' between port and teh hatch
  23. i dont know if anyone noticed but the 2000 has copper terminals... thats pretty.. are all the production models goning to have that sexy feature??
  24. ricky we needa get u back in the lanes next year!!!
  25. even if you dont get the headrest or dash numbers you want it should at least "sound' loud
