It is very fun. The old IASCA SQplus format was like this but all you could change was tuning on eqs. No port changes and you were limited to 135db max points. but you have to realize at this time no one had broken into the 160 db mark at all.
Before I answer this. Let me shed some light on my background . I am a Master certified installer . Iasca judge and judges trainer. I competed for many years in the 90s and I am SQ guy through and through with a hint of spl love. I have been an installer for 17 years now. I sell Sundown amps and I probably sold more Sundown Audio amps last year than any other dealer. I had 2 amps sent back for warranty out of hundreds. 2 and 1 of them the guy dropped on concrete and broke the board in half and it still worked. Sundown amps are bullet proof and they are very efficient. They really have no cons. The Alpine Pdx amps have some issues the biggest being that Alpine planned for this amps to be more efficient than they actually are. So the fuses that come in them keep popping on the 1000. You can upgrade the fuses to bigger fuse and this problem is solved. The Pdx has nowhere near the power of Sundown 1000d . BAsically Sundown amp are built like an amp is suppose to be built to last. Jacob is a great guy and he makes sure things are built to his standards. I have had a chance to have him come to 2 shows I sponsor in Orlando and he amazes me at his knowledge of car audio and his passion for it. I actually pulled some custom built Adcom amps out of my Old Iasca car and replaced them with SUndown amps . If any of you want to see some of my work. www.tech12volts.com
