Sea Excel w18ex for my mids and morel textile style tweeters. Running active. wired normally. Haven't played with the gains yet though. It doesn't happen all the time. that is why this problem confuses me.

Speakers cutting out
Got the system up and running and upgrading my alpine mono amp with a sundown 1000d. Sub amp is disconnected right now. Gains on my 100.4 are set very moderately. Around volume 44 on my 800prs my speakers will shut off. There is no pop or to the ear sounds of distortion. I just drove back up to college and did not get any times of cut off. It has happened on both cds and ipod. Could i just be playing it to loud? Also, i have a d3100 up front and the big 3 upgrade with 0 gauge. Any ideas would be very appreciated. Best Regards, Steve

Bad Ground?
would a grounding loop fix like this work? http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=337644 Or would i still have to replace the pico fuses. Also i was reading about replacing the fuse with a 1/4 quarter 1ohm resistor. Has anyone attempted that here? Steve

Bad Ground?
the ground fuse inside that you speak of is that referred to as the pico fuse?

Bad Ground?
I have been research this topic and I am coming across the pico fuse topic. Is this the true source of the preout problem? I turned my system on today and when the RCA's are disconnected from the amp the noise completely goes away.

Bad Ground?
It is a pioneer headunit. Both the door wiring is good. And all connections have not changed since the power supply blew. Found this article - http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=337644 Ground loop?

Bad Ground?
Blew the power supply in my amp. Had it fixed and just installed the amp back in. On zero volume there is a loud alien like sound as soon as i turn on the headunit. Could this be a bad ground? My right mid fell from its baffle and the frame was resting on the metal door. Did this ground blow something else? Thanks for any input. Steve

100.4 problems
Got the amp, looks new? haha. Thanks for the speed, i could not ask for more. About to put it in. I fixed the right grounded speaker and am going to check my other mid just to be safe. Is there anything else i should do other then disconnect the battery at this point? Thanks Steve

that is perfectly reasonable. Jacob give me a call when you receive the amp. It should get in tomorrow. I left my number inside the package. I will give you all the necessary payment information.

100.4 problems
Removed my right door panel because i had a feeling that was the area of problem. Turns out the speaker fell from its baffle and was resting on the doors metal. Does this sound like a good explanation for what happened?

Deflex Pad? What does everyone use behind their mids in their doors?
I have currently using Damplifier and overkill. For the outer door panel do you guys suggest applying a whole layer of overkill over it or just directly behind the speaker. Also what type of bonding material do you suggest. Probably gana run to home depot soon haha. Also ramos who does the lead clay and foam come together im trying to picture it

Deflex Pad? What does everyone use behind their mids in their doors?
I am just curious what people use directly behind the mid in their doors. Anything other then extra layers of sound deadener?

Sealed Box Filling?
Just received some polyfill and was stuffing it in my sub box which is 1 cubic foot. I got about 6 ounces in there and it seems stuffed. My question is do you really stuff the chit out of the box to fit it all in there? Is that ok? Also for this size enclosure is about 8 ounces the way to go?

New SQ sub setup
I am thinking about finishing up my system with a new sub setup. I have moved from the overpowering bass to appreciating all the ranges of music. Right now i have a 12" SSD copper coil sealed. It sounds great but am wondering what other choices I could get for greater SQ and that could get lower. Would stepping up to a 15" sealed Q or Icon dig lower and sound better? Playing with a 1000rms. I want the sub to compliment and add that lower depth. Mids are Sea Excel's with Sea tweeters.

Just my luck! Any ideas?
Woke up this morning to work on this problem, started the car and the system was back to normal. Weird

Not a second cell. Just replaced the battery up front. All fuses are good.

Just my luck! Any ideas?
So just got out of my car. Recently just installed my powermaster battery and finally had my sub turned back on. As i was driving my front left tweeter started to just sing static. The words from the song sounded like a DJ was trying to scratch it for real. I have a pioneer 9800 headunit and was thinking maybe my preouts went bc i heard that was a problem. I havent checked the main connections like amp output or even the headunits preouts yet. I will tmw in the morning. Just curious what people think. Thanks
