  1. Speaker went out again tonight. Now this was the orginial channel 1 tweeter that went out that is now on channel two. I switched around the rca's and neither tweeter worked with channel two, so i figure its the RCA connection for channel two to the headunit. I am using the rockford fosgate 4 channel rca's.
  2. Made baffles for the speakers. They sound alot better but im still having problems with the right speaker. It still has "breakup" as M5 described. LPF is set to 1200 with 12 db slope and 45 rms. The level on my headunit is down -2db. The right speaker doesnt make the noise. I keep thinking that the speaker is hitting the grill but i dont hear it on my side and they are both the same.
  3. i already did that tho. Says in my first post. At first the Right speaker would play Channel 1 and the Left speaker would not play on channel 2. After i got back in my car channel 2 came back.
  4. Im starting to think that. Is 14 gauge a good size for speaker wire? I want to replace the factory wires
  5. I just was about to check the RCA's - i turned the system on and both tweeters started to work again. This has happened twice now. That channel 2 goes on and off. Didn't touch any settings just turned the car off and left it and came back to it.
  6. my right front speaker went silent. Channel one front tweeter still worked so I swtiched speaker two to channel one n it played. I then put speaker one into channel two n it was also silent. All I so far.. Can the channel just be bad?
  7. They are jeep doors - they have a moisture barrier and i also added second skin Overkill. They get very sloppy quickly. Power is very low - 40 RMS. I also have the level of the speakers from the headunit down to -12. Very confused
  8. anyone? kinda out of ideas on these mids.
  9. What is an IB config? They don't have that "boomy" type of sound. The problem is that i needed to use a spacer so they aren't flush with the door, but spaced out about a quarter of an inch.
  10. Would the SEAs perform better in a sealed box?
  11. Haha yeah i guess it makes sense the amp in your signature is what your using my apologies
  12. m5 how much power do you send your SEAs? I'm guessing you have them in your car because they are in your signature
  13. I appreciate the info. I'll see how the slopes sound etc. Thank you
  14. So slope of 6 or 12 at 1200?
  15. Running them off a 100.4 and Pioneer 9800. Filter on the headunit is at a 6 db slope. Gain set around 75 rms, LPF is 2500hrz and subsonic at 200hrz. How do these setting sound? and also vocals can be heard through a speaker like this? Just curious
  16. I thought the same thing.. confusing how a pair of Peerless ($120) are better then a pair of supremo ($440).
  17. haha yeah i def learned a very expensive lesson. They dont have a recommended power handling on the specs though. Thats what i am uncertain about.
  18. How do they stack up against the Supremo's? What are there power handling in rms?
  19. I'm sorry i realized i posted in the wrong section. I don't remember exactly what they were crossed over at. Way to low Peerless HDS are these the speakers you are talking about?
  20. So i blew my morel supremo's.. 440$. Nice. Anyway what other tweeters are out there that sound great but are cheaper. I was on madisound and was looking at other morel drivers. The tweeters are so much cheaper then what i paid for these supremo's. I still want to get them but they are expensive and now i am questioning if they are worth it. Any tweeter recommendations would be appreciated. I am running a pioneer 9800 headunit off a sundown 100.4 amp. My mids are SEA excel's.
  21. Sent them to low a freq. Filters were not set up correctly. My fault... had the gain way down tho they were getting like 35 rms...but yeah.. any tweeters on madisound that you guys recommend?

  23. The filters that are in my head unit should i use them or just pass them? I'm confused because for my mids the filter only goes up to 200hrz. I am running a pioneer 9800 headunit with SEAs Excel Mids. I have them running off channels 3 & 4 with the LPF around 2200 and subsonic around 200. The filter on the headunit right now is 200hrz at a 12 db slope. Almost no midbass but when i pass the filter it comes to life. Also its not good to run an the amp without using all the channels correct? As in if the channel does not have a load would that hurt the amp?
  24. should I have the channel 3 & 4 on range x10
  25. Yeah its very misleading what they recommend. Originally i thought i could throw anything at them from the 100.4. I only had the gain a little less then half. Thanks Morel...
