  2. Welcome to SSA, as for the official origin, Mark started SSA in late 2001, I teamed up with him in 2002, and we redid all the board software in 2003 and have been growing from there.

Mike is the final word on that.
  20. I was just giving you a hard time. Any recommendations on midbass drivers? ///M5 is our resident mid and midbass expert. But I can bet my lunch that Seas will be mentioned. If you want, you can try my Mach5's out we can figure out a day. Check zaph audio's huge review for ideas, found >> http://www.zaphaudio.com/6.5test/
  21. That's a great word...invertedness. Hind-sight is always 20/20, but good luck trying to snag a new Mag. I was just thinking that. It is funny the words that are made up for the audio world that don't exist, but we all know and understand exactly what they are.
  22. So I meet denim on Friday to give him my old box. I turn on the stereo to demo it for him and we immediately hear mechanical noise coming from the sub... WTF??! He suggested I check the seal on the sub, sure enough there must have been a gap in the seal. *whew* For what it's worth, I thought my front stage sounded pretty good... until you listened to it. Then it became painfully obvious I have imaging problems. Argh!!! Hey, I never said it sounded bad, just some crossover adjustments for my ear preference. There was no shine, or tinniness, or tunnel sound to the mids, clean sound, I would just do some slight adjustments.
  23. As for sounding better, that I can't say until heard. But I would venture to say the Seas would be pretty good for sure. But for imaging, yeah, the mids and tweets in a kick would be a little better. The disparity in distance to the drivers ear is less, then when placed in the door. But I like the way you are thinking about mid-basses in the doors. I was just kind of throwing that idea out there since you had mentioned about having more power for the sub stage. I don't trust my glassing skills to build kicks, but NDmstang65 has a 4runner and I believe he did vifa kicks, and he is a skilled builder if you would want some assistance. If you head in that direction, with a great deal of work, you could have an SQ competition level system.
