  1. Maybe, but I doubt it. Here's why: 1 component set => x db 2 component set => x+3db 4 component set => x+6db That is assuming no cancellation. Since it is fairly easy to find horns that are more than 6db more sensitive than component tweeters, I'd still go with horns. I also think that even with just say the 880's eq that a set of horns will sound better than 4 sets of component tweeters together. They will definetely have a much easier stage to setup. I agree with sean on this, with all that power behind you, it will probably need something as strong as some good ID horns to keep up
  2. Maybe! We'll have to play it by ear as I've got alot going on. Thanks, Nick there is plenty of time between now and the next issue
  3. I have some monster MBQ QSD crossovers if you want them pm me some details...i don't have xovers for my rmb8's..and the ss's are only two way... of course my h/u is setup for an active 3 way, 2 way or a few other options..but i dunno if i wanna go active when passive is so much easier..lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I think I took pictures of them during one of the SWVA meets, I would like to keep them but I have nothing to put them in but they would be hard to replace
  4. looks ban worthy to me
  5. as usual, excellent work, what is going in there?
  6. how is the quality? I have never used them before
  7. from my experience with the 300E and the 300ce, don't do too much to the motor and for your car if you fell you must get wheels, do not go larger than 17" trust me, I have 18's and the tires are very very skinny and not the best for daily driving, great for high speed highway romps, the best idea would be to find some used 17" stock rims from another MB that someone is selling because they got aftermarket rims, this is a good idea because: 1. the bolt pattern should be similar, 2. less expensive than brand new wheels 3. if your not going to sink money into the car, this is a cheaper upgrade, I was very tempted to do a very very mild body kit, but my car rests too low as it is, I am not going to want to have to keep patching fiber glass. There are a few kits for your car, but I personally would save the money for keeping the car in top condition and running a good clean audio system. I swear by Bilstien shocks, and they will make a big difference over stock for ride and handling. Just trying to give some ideas.

  11. for the battery question, people are going to have different opinions, some people stick with the 2150's and others will stand by the 2400's

  16. DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!! CBfryman, I just typed this huge response to the MAC v. PC ordeal. I am not going to type it all over again. To get to the point, I have a lengthly background in MAC/PC and now gaining more unix everyday. I run MAC and PC at home, run all 3 at work. Skiping to next point, G5s ARE upgradeable, we have done it here at work many times. I read every post in the topic you posted, and the vast majority of those posts were made out of sheer ignorance. People were making negative comments about a platform and operating system they do not know much if anything about. I am not saying one is superior to the other, but there is a reason unix is still around, because it is super stable and very usable once learned. So it makes sence that Apple/MACs are now unix based, and now that they can run windows software it is saying something. To me as I see it here at work everyone in my branch has 3 machines, slowly everyone is transitioning to G5, they are able to run all three and are very stable. The only issues we have had with our machines are power issues, and that has nothing to do with the operating system or the computer, it has to do with a building that was not wired to handle the current draw that we are putting on it. I love my dell and I love my mac, but if I was forced to choose, I would take the G5 and smile. Not beating the dead horse again, just trying to clear a few things up. Once again not saying one is better than the other, only stating some facts.
  17. to SSA, that sounds like a great deal to me it is hard for me to say how they will preform, but all powerbass subs have been strong in my experience, if you get a chance!

  21. I currently have two sets of Orion p6.2s in my doors of my car, they are stupid stupid loud and the gains are near zero BUT!!!! with 2 sets of tweets it has been a bear to EQ and image, I am going to pull the second set. So I do not reccomend for crisp SQ to run two sets of components right next to each other. If you like the sound of the Audiobahns, that is all that matters. Run some clean power to them and you should be fine.
  22. tirefryr talked about this, that some aftermarket alternators are different from others, I have used iraggi in the past, good alt
