The GOAT
That car had some potential for real. But oh well GM is dropping it, one of the better products they sell and they dont even make it. Nice car, love your amp too.

Drivetrain choices
Advantages of front wheel drive * Interior space: Since the powertrain is a single unit contained in the engine compartment of the vehicle, there is no need to devote interior space for a driveshaft tunnel or rear differential, increasing the volume available for passengers and cargo. * Cost: Fewer components overall * Weight: Fewer components mean lower weight * Fuel economy: Lower weight means better gasoline mileage * Improved drivetrain efficiency: the direct connection between engine and transaxle reduce the mass and mechanical inertia of the drivetrain compared to a rear-wheel drive vehicle with a similar engine and transmission, allowing greater fuel economy. * Assembly efficiency: the powertrain can be often be assembled and installed as a unit, which allows more efficient production. * Slippery-surface traction: placing the mass of the drivetrain over the driven wheels improves traction on wet, snowy, or icy surfaces. * Predictable handling characteristics: front-wheel drive cars, with a front weight bias, tend to understeer at the limit, which is commonly believed to be easier for average drivers to correct than terminal oversteer, and less prone to result in fishtailing or a spin. * Better crosswind stability. * Tactile feedback via the steering wheel informing driver about if a wheel is slipping. * Center-point steering geometry can be incorporated in the design to avoid "torque steer" (pull to the left or right under hard acceleration). This is how the powerful Citroen SM front-wheel drive car avoided torque steer issues. * Front wheel drive allows the use of left-foot braking as a driving technique. Disadvantages of front wheel drive * The center of gravity of the vehicle is typically further forward than a comparable rear-wheel drive layout. In front wheel drive cars, the front axle typically supports around 2/3rd of the weight of the car (quite far off the "ideal" 50/50 weight distribution). This is a contributing factor towards the tendency of front wheel drive cars to understeer. * Torque steer can be a problem on front wheel drive cars with higher torque engines ( > 210 N

fan in monoblock......better??
It never hurts to ask questions, and this is pretty much the most friendly unbiased forum your going to find. We have a great bunch of members and a few are able to help us out on some deals. Good luck on your choice, I hope we have helped atleast steer you in the right direction. But keep in mind, the quality of the box and the design will effect the sound and output of the sub much more than an amplifer.

RE SE12 Change to RL-i
to ssa MikeJ, Kent is right the 2 10's will have the cone advantage over the 12. I would say try porting the RL-i 10s and tune low, some where in the 25 - 29 hz range. You should hear a nice gain in the bottom end. The SE is a great all around sub, but I would run the two RL-i 10's.

Welcome to the IHoP
I have my final for Stats next week, and I will be rolling right into the next semester with Project and Program Risk Management. Just ripped out two big posts for Nate, I really hopes he starts to listen and just makes a decision.

to add to that I can put in personal experience... -- RF Fanatic Q's (top end model) monster mid bass, ferro cooled tweet, -- Mids/Highs amp in my explorer. I must have gone through 6 amplifers until I found the right one. 3 rf amps, 1 cadence, 1 Orion, 1 US Acoustics. I needed something with low THD and good reliable power with minimal processing if any. I like the Cadence, liked it enough to end up buying a larger model later on down the road, even after I sold the origninal one in question. RF 360a2 (fried it), RF 250a2 (still have it love it), RF 125a2 (still love it, very underratted using it still today). The Orion was the strongest I believe of the bunch but I snapped a few pieces on it moving back and forth to college, but I liked it so much it partially led to me currecntly owning 3 monster Orion amps now. Then there is the little US Acoustics 2075, now this is a few years back and I knew they were using ZED boards and amplifers that we ZED made were some of the clearest I had heard up until then. Then I started to notice Crutchfield carried them, so I gave this little amp a shot. Guess what amplifer I have used the most? The little ole' US Acoustics (now I would probably not favor them now with out ZED internals), but this amp is rock solid and puts out plenty of clear and clean power and matched well with RF components. Long story short, I bought a bunch of amps to find out which one I would like the best, kept 3 of them, but through some trial and error I found out what amp did what I needed to do. Hope that helps some.

Please don't ever ever compare us to ICIX. ICIX is owned by eD, and they will shoved eD down your throat even if it does not serve your needs. US Amps is just a forum here, they send no money no do they have any part in ownership. Flakko is related to the owner, and has an excellent track record with service. He goes out of his way to make sure the order is done right, we have seen it countless times on here. Plus the mark up for a US Amps amplifer in a store is going to be much more than what flakko is selling them for. To be very honest, eD should not even be considered in the same thought as US Amps. I never said eD is crap, but US Amps is serious better in almost all aspects (not to mention that they design their own amplifers). Now on to the amplifer you mentioned. I am a very long time RF fan, I love the old old amps and I am very impressed with their new line. I asked about the model you are reffering to "t15001bd" and as far as I know that model does not exist. There is the 1501bd, and the new T15002 and T15004 (both big power very wel built amplifers). But Nate, you will never find the perfect amplifer. You have to just do some research and try one out. There are members on here that goes through amps faster than they go through an oil change (in total seriousness). So the bias is more based on past experiences. Nate, just jump in a pick one that has most of the features/power/price/availablity/well respected seller you need. If it is not the one you need, then at least you tried and you can turn around resell it on here to another member. I mean look at Joehemi, great member/great seller, he swaps out amps so often, he just got the new XT2000D (I believe) but very shortly after he bought it (loved it by the way) he wanted to try a new sub, as it turns out that sub would not match well with the amplifer. So he is selling an almost new amplifer. That is just an example and there are numerous people on here who are just like that. Make a decision, have some faith in it, if it does not work out, then try again. We will help you as much as we can, but your going to have to make a choice yourself.

Nate, did you PM flakko for a price on the MD2? it should be pretty close to what your looking at for an older RF amp, plus it has more power, that is if your talking about the T1001 or the T501, not sure which amp you are reffering to

Dayton audio
I want to keep these speakers under $300 for the pair. For a three way set up with finished crossover, give me some preferences. I was considering Dayton, TangBand or Vifa. I could use my old MTX 10s for subs to save money. Was thinking single tweet, and 2 mids per tower, plus the sub.

New H/U and amps...
For amps, talk to flakko, see if he can work you a packedge deal on US Amps. AX line is the sexies. As for H/U I will always say eclipse, the 8443 has been sweet in a few installs I know of. My 8053 and 55430 are doing very good. Maybe try the new CD5000?
