  1. I sorta mean, would it be stable to just push the crap out of the sub to counteract its loss in efficency at its upper limits with out losing driver control? I mean nick your putting 4k+ on a single uber, in relation could we strap a pair of Crowns to the LMT and stand back and hope for the best?
  2. they should sound very nice, but can I ask why 3? it would show the amp a funky load, what about a pair of 12's instead?
  3. www.tweakxp.com neat site, some of you probably already know about it, but there are tons of tweaks to get much more speed and funcationality out of XP
  4. I started doing it years ago on an old visual basic forum, it was a quick and easy way for me to find my last post on the topics, this is before the more flexiable forum software we use today with signatures and bright banners, and every and I mean every post during the last 5 years have all been in bold, so it is more of a habbit than anything, its funny because sometimes when I start typing a paper or letter I some times have [ b ] at the beginning out of a mental glitch
  5. I thought that is what RF did with their Xterra install a few years ago, with the huge bongo like suspended enclosures
  6. ok so my next question is, and Mike you don't have to answer... with the way the LMT is set up, (regarding its loss in efficency at the farther extents of its travel) does that mean we could just keep sending increasing amounts of power at its upper limits and it will hold its linearity?
  7. just looked it over, you guys might like, and no this is not a Ford v. Chevy thread, just about a sweet custom turbo install www.boostang.com I wish I had the loot and the skills to do that to my rig
  8. Nick your right, the vortex effect is the swirlling air caught in the corners
  9. older than me, hehe
  10. Tell you the truth, i was worried about that as well, hell - i'm still worried about as I havent fired them up yet. LoL. In my experiance with these amps, they wont get hot until they run at or close to full tilt into < 1ohm actual for a few minutes or more. Thats with the heatsink flush against a carpeted seatback and only "open" to the environment at the ends... So, I'm thinking that with a 1.5" gap between them as well as the open top & end caps... the heat can escape convection style. I'm also counting on the woofer's vent air & the air in the truck in general to pass through that 'canyon' like a tube (for lack of a better word). I can picture what your saying
  11. standing waves, usually caused by air flow having to bend around corners and those corners not being smooth, so some air flow gets trapped in a counter rotational motion in the corners, makeing the final execution of the enclosure not as efficent well atleast thats how I understand it
  12. Denim, have you had any time to do mine? I would like to get some done this weekend, but my girl and I are in a wedding, and I am not sure what kind of time I have left, but I promise I will get it done, I am about 4 back now
  13. forgot to tell you guys that I saw an M-16 sub on ebay, I think dude wanted 1k for it but I found a Crystal comp12 on ebay also, ME WANTS BAD but now I wonder about the D2 competition usage, maybe street B with a PB XA 3000D on each, wonder if they would handle that much power daily
  14. Nick, that is some slick work so far, but my one question is cooling on the silver monsters, I know they do not run that hot in comparsion to other 200+ currnet draw amps, but I was wondering if there will be enough air flow under heavy play on a hot day
  15. wow Kent, the pictures look sweet, and damn I need to order one asap
  16. hey Nick, who is your Baltimore/DC rep? I think you need to have one
  17. I wanted to get a discusison on standing waves, hence the reason I at least 45 out all my internal corners
  18. for lower power installs, jumping from one amp to the next is ok from my experience
  19. welcome over here, hope you enjoy it
  20. if it goes counter clock wise around the country I will be one of the last to see it
  21. I wish you luck too justin, I am also still job hunting
