I have had that same issue, so I have been forced to do a rushed slop job at dusk after work and a nice 2 hour commute.

My Black and Decker has been trusty, although too small and not quite strong enough.

They are about to disappear from SSA unless I get an answer to my emails.......

I don't own one, but have been around a few. I am surprised with the power handling in SPL burp applications.

I vote the other way, skip it and back the gains down a little on the amp.

Both are very good choices for clean sound. Their specs similar but not the same, and power handling is close to. I don't think anyone has tested they head to head yet. But it is a win win either way you go and in reality, they don't need more then 1000 watts.
