  1. The most I have been able to send it at 8ohms, is approx 500-600. Nothing serious, could easily take more. How much? Not sure yet.
  2. Primus Sucks.
  3. We might need to work something out. Be a year or three, probably a year and a half before I really try to start selling anything. What I'd like to do is keep it as a part time fabrication business on the side, make custom speakers for home audio along with custom entertainment centers and anything like that. I think I have enough skill to make something that is well constructed, last, be aesthetically pleasing, and at a very reasonable price. Then again, I could be completely wrong, who knows. Well you have the shop and the skills, and we have some speaker company. SSA in that kind of market? Now that'd be interesting If he were to build towers, he could use one of your future projects to fill a hole or two.
  4. Just curious, because there are a good number of SSA members who are working towards something. My current goals are to lose a few more BF% points by April, and drop some mass in my legs, while improving my cardio endurance and speed.
  5. This is a great topic. The hardest thing about working out, is getting to the gym. I believe in small short term goals.
  6. I failed doing this same thing in my car a while back.
  7. Zedman, I could have easily locked this topic in hopes to avoid the possible conflict. But we as a group at SSA, as you mentioned, can handle a controversial topic with out turning it into a sling-fest. As I see it, Blake has good intentions and a good goal, but SSA members wanted to understand why or how. He has every right to defend his POV, and as a new member to the forum who is asking people to go to another site for information, we have every right to question it. The only thing it seems is how people perceived his intentions and how he percieved theirs. Because Blake seems to be a newcomer to the higher end product spectrum of the DIY side of audio forums (SSA/ECA/DIYMA etc) people were skeptical of his experience and methods. That is not saying he is a noobie, just new to us. Thats how I see it.
  8. Scott, this is above and beyond the call of duty. Hell of a great write up. As for the length, we could break of the topic by placing the areas of focus in their respective sections maybe.
  9. There are a few that pop up in the for sale sections on a few of the audio forums. I will keep an eye out for one. What size were you looking at 12 or 15?
  10. I got your email, but have not been home to pop it open. Did not get a PM. Did you want me to try to retrive it? It was just next to a "fail pic" and I had a strange feeling I sent that If you mean the PM on CA-F, yes that came through.

Well you have the shop and the skills, and we have some speaker company. I will keep that in mind. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* I'd love to concentrate on full range. Say no more, say no more. But I don't think we will have anything full range anytime soon. I am not skilled in full range.

  15. Did I ever say how much I hate coorporate buzz words?
  16. Not sure if I want to allow mr.ecrack on here anymore.
  17. Blake, we do not and will not have a front page for only advertising new product. That is not what the entire forum is about, the shop on the other hand is a different story. If I wanted to make this a rolling add banner, then this site would have died off 5 years ago. We have a growing home audio community here also. 9 times out of 10, a potential customer is going to go to the website of the company they are looking at for new products, not here. The company forums are a great place to read about and see topics on new products, but all of these companies are very small by industry standards, so that means longer model life spans and all new products much less often. As for competiton, I never mentioned you were potential competition. For you to get the level of traffic you are after, and the amount of add revenue to support the site, you are not going to get it from the companies here. We as a collective are a very very small sliver of the industry and name recognition is huge in audio, regardless if the product is good or not. If someone wants to know about RF T1 subs or Pioneer amps, they will not come here to ask for the most part.
  18. The SSA Hall Of Fitness is open for business.
  19. It is one of my favorite beers. Ranks up there with Sapparro and Grolsh for me. As for pictures, I should have taken some even just for me to look at. Perfect two emoticons.
  20. Yesterday was the wifeys b-day. It went well, took her to Flemmings (a similar set up to Ruth Chris or Mortons), but they under cooked my medium steak, and they messed up the salad. For an ultra-rare high faluten' night out for young parents with bills, I was a little frustrated, but Amanda was happy and that is all that mattered. Her top did get us two free Stella Atoris drafts, not to mention a few of the servers making round about runs to the kitchen so they could pass right by our table. Terps beat UVA on national TV last night, so that was another highlight of the night.
  21. You are starting to sound like me.
  22. We have a ton of forums here already I am an advocate for health and wellness, but I'm not sure if a separate section it would attract enough attention. I would use it though ... and I would include pieces from my dissertation as well as actual lecture notes. I know, and I try hard to keep sections to a minimum and put as much in one as possible. But I would hate to see great fitness info lost 3 pages down in the OT. I will make the sub-section here shortly. PM me with what you would like to name it. If it does not get enough traffic, I can always shift all topics back into the main OT, no big deal.
  23. Ok I feel better now. I helped do a little work on a friends 97 Gti V6. With some tweaking great tires, that thing handled very well, but he did not dial out as much understeer as I would have liked. As for the feeling of torque, I know what you mean, daily scooter civic >> wifeys 528i.
  24. Sounds like another happy Ascendant sub owner.
