Don't quote me on this but the magnet structure is a little over 1100 oz. which is roughly 70 pounds and the 12" sub weighs in at roughly 80 pounds. The MT 15" beside it weighs in at roughly 65 pounds.

There is a lot that culd be wrong. When it is cutting in and out is the power light orprotection light coming on or off. It could be the RCA's are bad, could be a bad ground, could be a loose power connection, could be too low of an ohm load for amp amp and it is going into protection, could be a faulty amp.

Cool, thanks for the input. I have used the cheap regular thin edead a few years back and it was ok, but due to the excessive heat of Geaorgia in a trunk it peeled off. That was one of their very first batches though and have been told it has been corrected. So it might not be a go with Fatmat.

Tought to explain, but here it goes. I plan on using an 18" sub in my car. Due to size restraints it will be firing up into the lid of the trunk. Now, has anyone tried to make a baffle to go on top of the sub? The baffle would be touching the box at the back of the trunk and be touching the very top of the trunk at the front of the trunk. The baffle would span the entire length of the trunk. The sub would then fire into the baffle and create compression loading like in a hatchback. Damn, that is tough to understand. If anyone knows what I am talking about and has a better explanation than please feel free to elaborate. I just drew it up quick. I am just wondering if the sub is too close to the baffle that it will not compress the waves too much and not redirect them forward.

I know there are a ton of choices out there but wondering what everyone is using here. Right now RAAMat looks like the choice for me, followed by Fatmat or Edead. Feel free to post away.

LOL, the auction for the sub ended today. I have asked the seller for pics but I won't get any for myself until the middle of next week probably. But here is a pic of a CSX 15"

If you send the sub back to Treo for an additional $40 they will enlarge it to an 18". The recone is $100 and the shipping back return freight is $100. So including the shipping to and from Treo it is about $300 for a recone. Add that to the price of the sub and it is $400 for a barnd new Treo CSX 18.

I have always wanted to redo the big 3 on my Satur, but knowing where my Alt is I don't want to try it. Maybe I can pay a shop to do it. Na, maybe when I get the alternator switched I will do it. How come Saturn can't mount an alternator in a san eplace :soap:
