HUGE BONER!
Definately nice amps. Definately over priced. Definately would be a nice system with 2 of those for power. Definately not going to buy them, even if they were half of the buy it now price. Seller might get lucky if some multi millionare spots the auction and gets nostaligic. The Hammer

Usher Audi 3-way setup
I have the Tweets and Mid-Range already. I was planning on using them with the 4x Vifa PLs I already have, but considering the Usher Mid-Bass a bit. Click on pictures for more information: Tweets Mid-Range Mid-Bass Any opinions? Crossover points/slopes suggestions? I think it might be kinda unique to tell people when they ask that my front stage is all "Usher Audio" and see the puzzled look. Although "Vifa" Mid-Bass would get the same look from most people I'm sure. The Hammer

Last I read on a forum posting was that the price was climbing due to fuel costs rising and suppliers upping their prices. What was hoped to be under $1000 has climbed over $1000 now. Maybe around $1100 or $1200USD. Shoot Stephen an email and share the news. It'll be one sexy hunk of aluminum that's for sure. At that price tag it definately won't be for everyone. It'll be like having a Atomic power plant in your trunk however I bet. I'd love to run an extreme 3 way setup (with 2 tweets, 2 mid-ranges and 4 mid-bass) off the Leviathan and have a Kronos bridged for a single Sub. Then I could sleep peacefully at night. I may just have to grab a few sets of these NEXT comps.. People keep asking me for speakers, but I'm usually not too interested in parting with my stuff. The Hammer

Yes but Thor tested it with only 1 channel under load. I'd be very interested to see the difference once all channels were driven. And whos' got the comps? The Hammer

OK... after all the hub-bub about the great deals on the Next amplifiers, and of course not alot of feedback yet. Anyone done measurements whith more than 1 channel being driven? Looking at the items and prices I'm wondering about the speakers. Did anyone try out any of the comp sets or subs? Looks seem ok, and prices are quite good. The Hammer

Look at all my new toys
Nice stuff ... I'm curious about your brand choices. For the HT your went with Marantz, a well respected and above normal consumer level brand name. For the car you went with Concept, IMO kinda lower end. Wassup wit ****? Feel free to tell me my opinions suck, or whatever. The Hammer

I'm a greedy b!tch .. you all get nothing... Actually if anything interests you let me know (PM or email). I think some definate keepers are the TRu amps, my Denon DCA-3500 and all the Adcom stuff, although that might change. Definately not a motivated seller, so don't come to me expecting great deals. I'm a fair minded person with some nice taste. I get a good deal of enjoyment just looking at the nice electronics I've collected and imagining using it all one day (that's never gonna happen with some of it unfortunately). I think overall I find a bargain now and then, but I have over paid for a few items aswell. The workvan install should be underway soon .. still working on the alarm, and the local installers all seem to be lame ducks in that area. The Hammer

Addicted to Power Part II
Allright... So I purchased the Sony unit and am looking at an alarm system for the work van before I put it in. I should have gotten alarm in before anyhow. I just got a package today containing an Audio Control Overdrive, and an Adcom GFI-4600. mmmmmm The Overdrive unit was part of the package so why not. Another few boxes should be on the way shortly with 2 NIB Adcom GFA-4302s (then I'll have 5 of those) and a GFI-4400. Looks like I need a new Cell phone too.. I left mine sitting on the roof of my car. I found it later on, but it had been run over and no longer worked. The Hammer

I don't have a lot of love for Sony HUs myself. Have you had any experiance with the particular unit I'm looking at? Seems to be a different animal then we've seen from Sony recently. I haven't made the purchase yet, but need something suitable with an aux input for the Omnifi. The Sony seems like a pretty good value for the specs/feature set. The Hammer

2 recent arrivals : Stryke Audio MTM kit (raw drivers and crossover parts and unfinnished cabinets). It's all very pretty. There's a project I'll never have time for .. haha. I won an eBay auction for a case of 8 Stryke Audio mids ($46USD), and was told after a month of waiting that they had run out and no longer had 8 new ones. I renegotiated for an MTM kit and covered some additional shipping as the cabinets alone cost $40 to ship to me. Also picked up another Alpine EQ ERE-G180 with BBE processing. Got a good price for it so why not. I could ebay it and make an easy $25 if I end up not using it. All the Soundstream amps are in a good home now, I'll miss them, they were beautiful. Plans to actually install into my work van in the next month or so (almost for certain). Van install: Either old Quarts or Aura MRs or ID Chameleons for the speakers. Single Cadence Beast sub in a sealed cabinat between the seats. All run from a Nakamichi 4x100w PA2004 amp. Omnifi 20G wireless jukebox hooked into the aux ports of an undetermined HU (I don't think i want to use the RFX-8250s in the work van.) Might get a Sony specialty HU The Hammer

- MVC hanging onto it in case I go digtal and need a volume control. - USA-150 May sell it, really have no plans for it. - TRu 4.65 w/bb Saving that one for a front stage fo sure (or at least comparison testing.. I wanna hear it) - Nak PA-2004(s) I think I'm going to use 1 of them in my work van (hopefully this month) along with a set of compnonets (haven't chosen yet maybe the ID Chameleons) and the single 10" Cadence beast. Holy chit
What I'm saying is, if you were thinking of buying at woot and were checking other online prices for the Omnifi package... and happened to check out eBays recent sales of them, you would be thinking "hey if people are willing to pay $300 plus on ebay then $200 from woot must be a smokin' deal. Of course if those $300+ ebay sales were fake (as they appear to be) then maybe some one was trying to falsely inflate the apparent value of the item to make sales at $200 easier. I'm not accusing anyone or pointing fingers here, but wanted to point this out to others as something is definately fishy. I, as stated, did already purchase an Omnifi pkg and think the deal was descent enough. The Hammer

7.1 ??
I currently have a Yamaha RV-V800 5.1 receiver and enjoy it quite a bit. I wouldn't go back to 'consumer brands' like sony, kenwood, jvc etc (no offense). RX-V800 review http://audioreview.com/PRD_125000_2718crx.aspx Receiver Comparison Yamaha receiver comparison chart. The speakers I'm currently using: Mission 701 x 4 (fronts and surrounds) Mission 70C1 (center channel) Mission 700ASi (10" powered sub) Mission 701 reveiw Mission 700 series PDF click the pic for a larger view sorry no big pic My Brother is getting married this Summer and I'm considering giving him my Yamaha 5.1 amplifier. (Is that tacky giving him a used amp.. I have original box etc). I might be interested in buying a couple more Mission 701s and going with a 7.1 amp. Any comments suggestions? 7.1 worth it .. any gains? problems? Amp suggestions? The Hammer

Re: Rockford Omnifi Wireless system woot Anyone notice several of these units recently sold on eBay for over $300USD ? (they sold on woot for $200 plus $5 shipping) Anyone notice they most of those that sold for such a high price ($300plus) sold to the same buyer... "Inittowinit2003" who has ZERO FEEDBACK!! (an obvious shell account) Anyone checking to see if this was a good deal or not by searching recent sales on eBay might find this bit of information ALARMING. I bought this woot (the RF Omnifi system), and still think it's a reasonable deal, but thought this might be of interest to some folks TheHammer

Too many sexy hunks of metal out there. I think I'm leveling off here as far as buying amps. I packaged up 2 Soundstreams amps to ship out today... After all have at least 2 amps pending to come in my direction. (The Zed Audio Leviathan, and another amp of Stephen's choice.) I have never owned any PPI stuff actually. Great gear, but never had any myself. When they were 'in' I saw a great install in a truck bed that made me drool pretty badly. As for messaging me feel free, every now and then I skip 3 or 4 days of sifting through ebay myself. I watched **this Adcom** go for quite a decent price just last night. At least the guy who bought it is a good egg. The Hammer

Does this RCA chart look right?
Are you sending the same amount of power to the tweets and the mid-bass? or ??? Wiring looks fine to me. The Hammer
