what is this madness you speak of?!
  2. yellow tops are ok, but kinetiks are the way to go :] the HC2400 are just the best hands down, or if your looking for a high voltage set up they have that battery that have interchangeable posts for 12V or 16V set ups. have you upgraded your grounding, mainly the big 3 (or for some people the big 4)? i would make sure you have no unnecessary length in your power or grounding wiring either, especially your grounding coming from your amp. anything more then a 1.5 feet or so can drain your electrical system pretty bad. i recommend a voltage stabilizer too, i picked a the nicest one off of ebay i could find and im pretty sure it helps out alot too. its even got a voltage meter on it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JAPAN-BELLO...1QQcmdZViewItem
  3. those dust caps are sooooo-so sexy looking. props to you and Fi man
  4. im desperately trying to find an amp for my 15" BTL dual 2. Its got the 3rd mag, himax coil, and cooling. its in a nice box, look at my sig for the specs on it. I also have an upgraded electrical system including a 160 amp HO alt, kinetic 2400 & kinetic 1400, big 3, and all my wiring is 0 AWG. I also have a voltage stabilizer connected to my electrical system. has any one ever had any experiences or comments on the Sound Stream PCA3500D PICASSO? Is it a good amp, it says its rated at 3500 RMS at 1 ohm. What do you think ill actually be getting with my upgraded electrical system. thanks -wes
  5. would running a pair for strapped SAZ1500D's be enough power. i guess i could wait the extra few weeks to make some money to go ahead and get them. im really considering maybe doing that. but i have to get the BTL, no doubt about it.
  6. nah, just looking for a solid, loud as heck daily driver set up. would i better off just going on 1 ohm? or should i just a get a bigger amp for the same amount of money to power the BTL. I know you can pick up those earthquakes PHD5000.1 brand new for a near price of the SAZ1500D. And those things put out 3000 RMS at 2 Ohm being as 2 is as stable as it gets. I know these things use to be really popular in Db drags, and ive seen a few places on the forum that a few years back that 6 out of 10 of the Db drag world finalists were using these earthquake amps. But i dont know, im just throwing out suggestions. Like i said though, keep in mind that im limited to $500 at the most on a amp and that im looking for a loud as crap daily driver.
  7. i know that there is the D1 and the D2 option, but then in the description it says its actually .75 a coil for the D1 & 1.5 a coil for the D2. But then i also keep hearing about these impedance spikes when it reaches a certain resistance. So basically what i want is the exact load for just one 15" BTL D1 & D2 wired series and parallel. so im looking for a total of 4 numbers. thanks -wes
  8. ok, ive taken your advice and hear is my solution: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=11792
  9. but i mean, if i dont plan on strapping two should i be fine? if i just get one 1500SAZ and run it at the .5-.7 ohm or what ever it is after the impedance rise is. like i said, if i get all of the electrical upgrades that is? or should i get the dual 2 and run it at 1500 at 1 ohm even though the BTL is rated at 2000 RMS. please keep in mind like i said that the BTL im getting is fully loaded and in a nice box with bracing and thhiiiccck wood so the box is not falling apart.
  10. im about to get a 15" Fi BTL fully loaded with cooling, 3rd magnet, and HiXmax coil. I want to get a dual 1 ohm and run it with a SAZ1500 at .5 ohm. from several people though i hear its actually at like .7 ohm because the coils have an impedance rise at .5, correct me if im wrong. But to back it up i plan on doing the big 3 with 0 awg, then a new 160 amp alt (upgrading from the stock 70 amp one), then i want to get a kinetik 16V with a run of 0 awg to the amp or would be better off going a 12V 2400? just please tell me how safe this would be since i know .5 isnt covered under warranty anymore. or would i just better off all together just getting a dual 2 and running it at 1 ohm even though the BTL is 2000W RMS. please give me input.... thanks! -wes
  11. Okay guys, i have a Fi 15" BTL with cooling, 3rd magnet, and hixmax coil with the dual 2 ohm. its the in a 6.5 foot ported enclosure, only 5 feet though after port and sub displacement. Its tuned to 39 Hz and is 1" all the way around with a 1.75" front face. Its also got internal bracing so im not worried about the sub blowing apart the box in any means. I am looking to spend around $500 at the most on an monoblock. I was looking at the hifonics BXi2607d which is 2600 RMS at 1 ohm, but i keep hearing bad things about hifonics and not so sure if i want to go that route anymore. Im looking for an amp to put out some serious power because i want this BTL to be herd from blocks away. is any one familiar with the EARTHQUAKE PHD5000W which puts out 3000 RMS at 2 ohms. Please give me suggestions, and please remember im looking for loudness before quality. thanks -wes
  12. this is going to be so sicknasty its not even cool dude, haha soon your going to have to sell at least one of those T15k's to pay for surgery for your loss of hearing since you drive around with more power then the world finalists in your daily driver, haha. props to you my dude! just keep doing what you do best -wes
  13. im getting a 15" BTL with cooling, 3rd magnet, hi-xmmax coil in a 4 cubic foot box with a slot port tuned to 32Hz. i have a hifonics BXi2006D monoblock amp that has 2000 rms at 1 ohm. its the new generation thats suppose to have better circuitry and protection as well. i know it says its only 1 ohm stable but it seems like i have seen people running amps like these at .5 or .6 ohms. what do you guys think? please help me out as i want to order this soon as possible. should i get the dual 1 or 2 ohm option? thanks
  14. thanks man, ill be sure to cut that out of my sub setup then. by the way NDMstang65, do you goto radford university? just wondering because thats where my sister goes, shes a sophmore there. i actually live in lynchburg, va not too for away from there
  15. I listen to mostly rap with just really hard hitting and heavy bass lines. as for the rest of the system, the head unit is a Dual XDMA7715. I have (4) 6.5" alpine type R speakers, theres no amp running to the speakers besides the one on the head unit. when i get more money i plan on getting getting a small 4 channel amp for the speakers. I also have a pair of Kicker KS13 tweeters in the front.
  16. Allright guys, this is going to be my planned set up... please tell me on what all you guys think or if you have any advice or questions. im kind of a newbie to these crazy SPL competition subs. (im not competing though, i just want a really nice system) -(1) 15" BL with the following options: dual 2-ohm (i plan on wiring it parallel to get a 1-ohm load on my amp) cooling system flatwind coil daily extreme lead no universal -Hifonics Brutus BXI1606D (its the newest generation that's black and is made nicer) -slot-ported box 4.0 cubic feet (33" x 16.5" x 21") tuned @ 32 Hz .75" MDF with the front face being 1.25" MDF please just tell me what you guys think, one of the questions i have is should i just go ahead and get the universal even though im not a competitor or never really plan on interchanging the parts? thanks -wes
