  1. what in gods name is with you people and stock alternators. Get an upgraded alt or two man. That's where all of your power is generated from.
  2. What size alternator (s) do you have?
  3. Here^^^ is some useful info, and unless the OP can better explain what is happening "we're just throwing shit at the wall to see if any of it sticks." I agree. Op let's start off with your voltage. What does it read when this change happens?
  4. Now let's start this over positively. Poster, what do you think the problem may be?
  5. Everyone just take a chill pill!!!!!
  6. I agree on the ofc wire but do not know anything about the CCA because I have never used it
  7. I have their 1 gauge ofc cable and it is some if the thickest wire you can get
  8. God dammit again.. This chart i had.. i have been mis-interpreting it.. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! After doing some research.. YES! CCA's conductivity % to pure copper is almost the same % as pure aluminum which Gauge for Gauge is pathetic unless you are getting it for EXTREMELY EXTREMELY CHEAP. Well.. looks like i won't be using any of this left over CCA then, hehe. I need 200ft of 4/0.. looks like copper it is.. Dual 4/0 runs everywhere. I have had plenty of success with knukonceptz wire but I know there are cheaper options than that but still they give you a bargain for how thick their wire is. God dammit again.. Yes, i didn't want to say that but yes, Knu's CCA is oversized and says so on their website to alert you not to use their rating specifications to compare to other CCA. So in your opinion knu wire is a terrible product?

  10. I will buy it once i get my $1,000,000 paycheck
  11. Damn i was about to say I would pay you to make me some
  12. This is what i did with my last build. When 1 run of copper cost as much as 2 runs of CCA, i go CCA. It can handle more current and less voltage drop. I make my own fuse blocks, termination points, etc so it's well worth it in my case. Copper handles more current and has less voltage drop. You have the terminology backwards my friend. No, you are not understanding this thread. Copper vs CCA or aluminum is better but not 2x CCA vs 1x copper, lol. 2x 1/0 CCA has the capability of being just as strong if not stronger than 4/0-300MCM Copper. My apologies. I thought you were comparing the same gauge wire. Do you make battery terminals by chance?

  14. These are facts that should not be ignored. Never skimp on material if you want the best foundation possible for your system.
  15. my jeep has a little black button on the top and on the bottom of the plug then press both buttons in and pull it out, not rocket science I cant i only have two hands and one of them has a screwdriver in it and the other is used to pull the plug. I am short one screwdriver
  16. This is one badass alternator for sure

  18. what bar did you use? And dropping the fan would be a pain in the assIt's just a 3/4" breaker bar, nothing fancy. ^^This and the radiator fan is a lot easier to take out then it looks its literally just 4 small nuts that are easily reachable, but you shouldnt have to take it out to get a breaker bar in there. It IS a really tight fit though How did you get the electrical plug out of the alternator? I wanna say I pried it with a screw driver. How the...
