i use 2" coarse thread drywall screws or sometimes 1 5/8". Predrill with a 7/64 bit. I never get splitting unless i screw within one inch from the edge of a board.

yes a table saw w/ a guide leads to perfect cuts. It needs to be able to angle the blade as well for those wedge boxes or other wierd shapes. Gnome Audio, do you have any pics of the boxes w/ carpet?

i agree, pre-orders are stupid. Just wait until they come out and order it. It gets very old hearing people complain about not getting their sub. chit happens, eD is a growing company but I think they are making things worse by doing the pre-orders, now they get to have people mad at them because they didnt get their sub on time.
