  1. Lol I laugh every time I see that! The best part is that everyone gets out in T-shirts and jeans. LOL
  2. Mmm....Leftovers
  3. I love lincolns and spokes also, especially on that body style of town cars. I don't think I could do the lift though. I like the smooth ride too much to sacrifice it. Looks good though (I like the color but it looks like you may need a wash!) Look into brakes and suspension like stated before though. I'd hat to see something on that pretty TC get messed up!
  4. Head over to phoenixphorum.com. There are a few people that can find parts, or maybe even make them. A guy hand made me a new remote for my bass cube. Thanks a bunch.
  5. Someone at work gave me a phoenix gold bass cube to fix. They said it won't power up. I opened it up and two transistors in the power supply are fried. I can't read the model number since they are burned off. Any suggestions? I can't find a parts list or schematic anywhere UHG!
  6. Bullchit. That reminds me of a story the school's paper ran a few days ago, where they confused ethanol with biodiesel...we have how many chemical engineers on campus, and you can't get that right? I tend to agree with most of that article. I think raising crops of any kind for any kind of fuel is the wrong idea. Most of the world is already starting to starve for water, and the use of extra crops will just lead to more irrigation and faster depletion of the water sources. and I don't think wind is the answer either, as that depends on a variable input. I've always liked nuclear and solar power, although I knew solar was fairly inefficient. But if everybody would cover their roofs with solar panels I think that's enough to power the house. It's just normally cost prohibitive. Hydro is iffy. There are only so many places that we can put a dam. But doesn't the Hoover dam power all of Las Vegas plus some? That's quite a drain and that dam does a good job at that. From what I've heard, solar is still ridiculously expensive. I was talking to some people whose neighbor looked into covering his roof.... $80,000 supposedly sounds... in the realm. I was looking at that or wind. To buy a wind set up it was 50K for one tower. I think we need to concentrait on making our buildings much more insulated, and efficient, not find a new way to make more juice. You are exactly right. It might cost more initially but in the long run it would save so much. My schools carpentry program built a house with heated floors, high efficency everything, and insulated well. We went in there in the middle of summer and the air had not been on in weeks and the temp was barely above 70. It was a nice looking house too.
  7. I'm with bigjon, I drive a Lincoln. No big problems as of now. Just normal wear and tear. A little rust starting by the wheel wells but it's a Minnesota car.
  8. 21 in less than a month!
  9. I know Mitch Hedberg has been dead for a few years now, but they just released a CD of all new material! Check it out!
  10. wrong.... lol that's great!
  11. Not so fast there, the Sony Es line of car audio was said to be qualityproduct(although I have not used any first hand, just heard), but that is about it. Edit:Jim beat me to it. To answer the OP, I would look into other brands. You could get a very good sub for $250 dollars. Much better than that sony.
  12. My username? uhh...My name. I'm the only idiot who would use my real name
  13. I'd be real interested in his electrical system. If he's truly running that much power, why in the hell would he use type Xs? DOh!
  14. Moving along. Just an OT question but did you ever get Eico St-70 working?
  15. Looks so sweet! And good numbers too!
  16. If you really want an RE sub, get a single SE. That would work perfect with 600 watts. Mine sounded good ported or sealed, although I preferred sealed. I switched back and forth a few times and settled on sealed. Good SQ and when they were ported, had the ability to get loud(not to say they didn't get decently loud sealed) But I'd agree with Jim, for the prices, they aren't worth it anymore. I picked up 2 SEs when RE was still online for $253 Shipped!
  17. Nice work man! looks great! I'd love to get some 8's in my car.
  18. Don't waste the money on running all that extra wire. Find a good grounding spot in the trunk like KU said. Preferably close to a frame rail or something. If you want check it with a meter. Make sure to sand off any paint and use a star style lock washer.
  19. That is so clean! Makes me want to start with a clean chassis and rewire everything! Maybe it's time for a new project. But looking great Mike! How much more do you have left?
  20. The guy likes to whine a lot. WAAA!
  21. Thinking about an S4 myself I am so jealous!
  22. Definitely don't go with that box.
  23. This may be one of my favorite installs I've seen in a while! Great work to say the very least. I love the old school RF. I just love the look of those amps! Just frigging sweet!
  24. Wow this thread sure has taken off. Let us know how these stack up to the Kodas. If they perform or outperform the Kodas, these would be one hell of a deal. The Kodas are one of the better sound component speakers I've heard.
  25. Keep this log updated then. I always enjoy seeing your work. You said that you disassembled the OPTs correct? Do you have any pictures of that? I still have yet to see how they wind everything inside of a transformer.
