  1. happy birthday! how much did you put up on bench? my dad got a PR yesturday...625 lbs...no lie...lol he's a big boy
  2. i hate you all and your dual monitors! i have a card for duals but not an extra monitor!!!!! btw did you see my background girl is pregnant? isn't it a shame lol
  3. lol yeah i've seen that here...not to go off topic, but whatever happened to the guy with the mini cooper?
  4. from my experience, compustars are no where near the quality of a viper or DEI product...i had to install a compustar alarm and it wouldn't work! the range was horrible and the shock sensor didn't even work out of the box....but then again i have heard their high end stuff is great so i'd assume Kickins would be prettty kick ass... personally i love the viper's or DEIs.... no matter what you go with, let us know how it turns out... and yes helotaxi, i am lazy...i hate the cold more than anything
  5. i would say the Q would be a good for what i think you want and as far as i know...if you break your sub, Fi can sell you a Re-cone kit....from what i've seen maybe around 80-90 for the at home kit...but if your speaker is covered under warranty, it'd be better to send it in...but Fi is some Tough stuff
  6. welcome to SSA i think you have come to the right place...lots of high quality made in the usa products and support:) sweet car by the way! how fast does it go?
  7. 100% of the time, solder all the ignition and heavy duty wire....you have no idea how chitty it looks when someone tries to use t-taps on ignition cables if you want to save time, you could t-tap most of the connections, but you risk bad connections....over time the connections could oxidise and not be functioning...and i have seen way too many times people use t-taps that are too big for the wire, please, if you do use t-taps, use the right size but if you are going to take the time to put in an alarm/remote star...just do it right the first time....i soldered everything except two connections that we not possible to reach with a solder gun and take your time and run your wires clean...it looks better and will help you troubleshoot anything easier if it doesn't work right not many ways to cut corners here
  8. do you really want your subs playing about 200hz?
  9. i have the 791vx also....great alarm/remote start/keyless i love getting into my warm car when it is 10 degree out
  10. sq?!?!?!?! i'd go with daily driver box lol
  11. i rarely buy CDs anymore....unless it is someone i like a lot...or hard to find music....everything else is gotten from friends and vinyl...
  12. x2 if you want a cd player for powering speakers, the 9885 would be better...simpler and less expensive if you want to run a full active system is lots of flexablitlity(and have the money and ambition), get the 9887
  13. any word on the red torroids?
  14. why are there so many torroids? step down the output stage?
  15. i would say work well worth the payout though
  16. Fi an RE have their similarities...but are two different companies....i would chose Fi over RE now...from what i have heard is that REs quality is not what it used to be ever since being comercialized...i cannot confirm that first hand but heard
  17. i vote sealed...even though the Q sounds very good ported, i've always enjoyed any good subwoofer sealed
  18. fi, you guys are awesome, some of the best customer service!...i had the same problem with my brahma a while back after adire went under and i had to repair it myself...given it was a single spider so a little easier...
  19. that's no good man....but at least you aren't at fault and no one got hurt but i feel for ya....my old car got hit by a buddy who was drinking and it got fudgeed up...i didn't report it but his dad did write me a check in the amount of what i paid for my vehicle
  20. LAIR! lol only joking...but i am curiou to ask...what is second order distortion? or even first order? was it maybe some kind of distortion like humming from a tube amp? just wondering, especially with 8 watts i figured maybe tubes
  21. well not technically underpowering it, maybe clip it to death by trying to get more out than it is capable
