  1. your wife has the same amp set-up as me! maybe i should upgrade...lol
  2. i may be interested in the garmin....i may need it for a job, how easy is a unit like that to use? mainly i will need to put in adress and get directions..how easily can this be done on the garmin? never used a nav system before ?
  3. i hear the sony es series is all quality stuff...never had a chance to mess around with any of it though
  4. yeah it happened a while back....it's too bad, i liked RE more when no one knew about them...and then people would hear my set up and be amazed because they never knew it existed oh well
  5. lol i think he's lying...i'd definetely take the vette!
  6. no idea about the 9886, but the 9887 has a lot of control as i would best put it...it has built in active x-overs, and a parametrics, and graphic equalizer...and what the imprint sound does, is that it equalizes the car to get as close as possible a flat response across the entire audio spectrum...i have not yet heard a car equipped with imprint, but i hear it does a very good job as for the DAC....i could never tell much of a difference...but personally, if i was in the market to buy a new HU and it was between those two...not knowing anything about the 9885, i would still spend the extra 50 and get the 9887
  7. this was on top gear last night....shows that the z06 will run with the supercars, but Jeremy explains why he thinks it is only good on the track http://youtube.com/watch?v=iFtOKvRDsIg
  8. never called the Z06 a supercar...i should have said the closest thing chevrolet could get to a supercar.... the Z06 supposedly drives good on the track, but like M5 said, the suspension wasn't engineered like it should have been...it suppose to drive bad(like the GT500) on the streets i would much rather drive a car that can go around corners rather than a straight line well....or a car that goes sideways round a gravel corner goddamn i need to get rich so i can get the STi of my dreams
  9. GT500 cannot compare to the Z06...the suspension in the GT500 is not made for the kind of power it has...the Z06 is the closest thing to a supercar the american can do, except the Saleen S7 and the Ford GT
  10. wow....that's all i have to say about his comment and those people are just raping him lol
  11. well i gotta be new to you so welcome..nice to meet you!
  12. yeah i looked it up on wikipedia for a quick explaination about the same as the link above but a little more brief
  13. really? i was under the impression that the increased efficiency was due to digital circuitry but i was completely wrong...i was just under the impression that class D stood for digital...but had never read up on the circuitry... i just did a quick bit of reading and learned they are more efficient because of Delta-Sigma Modulation and can be fed a digital or anolog signal...makes sense now thanks for correcting me so i don't sound like an idiot next time
  14. i'll agree on bass boost being bad but...i am going to completely disagree with the previous statement....it is not impossible...not at all i have fed a sine wave through my HU and checked the output on my CLASS D subwoofer amplifier, so it doesn't clip! i have seen a perfect reproduction of a sine-wave from a class D amplifier... and there are class D amplifiers amplifiers that run very low distortion also....digital circuitry isn't limited to just subwoofer amplifiers either...there are full range amplifiers that are fully digital and run very low distortion also.... I.E. eclipse makes a full range digital that runs less than .05% distortion at rated power SHUT DOWN if you have it set up right...you won't have to worry about clipping.
  15. c'mon hayes...when will you ever learn! lol isn't the 18" BL enough for you?
  16. i don't know if you're going to have any luck finding that, if you want that aluminum dish done, which i am assuming you are taking about...you will probably need to replace the whole cone, not the dustcap...which would probably drastically change some of the speakers parameters
  17. never thought to look at partsexpress...but i think i found what i needed! thanks JimJ
  18. I am hoping that scott or nick can help me with this...i sent an e-mail and i know you guys are busy, but i have not gotten a response yet so i'll reort to the forum again... i need a dust cap...the outer one...i have my speaker reassembled and this is the last piece of the puzzle...i was wondering if i could buy one preferable a blank one....is this at all possible scott or nick? thanks for the time
  19. i hear lot's of good stuff about mach5audio...never used them personally, or heard them in person, but i am thinking about picking up some 6.5"s for a project...from what i've read, the price vs. performance is more than good
  20. sweetness! i've never had to re-cone a speaker yet, however i have had my sub apart for a week now and had to shim and re-glue the suspension...goddamn adire doing chitty re-cone before they closed
  21. lol what's up with these people....everyone here seems super chill, CSO was super chill and some people just can't manage to get along...oh well it's the way of the world
  22. omg that was the best thing i read all night with the way our judicial system works in america..i bet you could pull it off lol =example: i burned myself from this McDonalds coffee! of course you did, it's pucking coffee! IT'S SUPPOSE TO BE SERVED HOT!
  23. I got the Xj-15 back when it came out and I installed it in a less than optimal box according to everyone on CSO at the time, however I think it sounds fine, however I'm also deaf, and the box isn't big enough for a proposed 18brahma with a stiff Qts I put it in a ported box tuned below 30hz (forgot the tuning) just a normal ported box with a decent sized MDF vent, prolly one of the least drastic boxes I've ever built. Plus it's not big enough to cut out the hole bigger for an 18 inch sub. oh yeah, i still need a real home sub amp, right now I'm running a 30 amp ac-to-dc converter to an old car amp to run the sub off a kenwood reciever's rca outputs/// surprisingly, the gains needed to be LOW on the car audio amp. oh damn i completely misunderstood...when you said xj-15...i thought you mean like a Jaguar car...lol i get it now...i'd scrap the 15" sub and put the brahma inside...i don't think that fiberglass box would work well...you'd have way to high of a peak with a high qts speaker, i would guess.... Scrap the xj and replace with brahma...i still would like to see the predicted brahma specs...just so i could model it out and see how it would perform in a huge IB enclosure...like 20 cu. ft. depending on the Vas numbers and how high the qts is btw i think i am going deaf too...that's why my brahma will probably only be running 300 watts when i get it working again...and if i ever re-cone it to an 18" it will be inside and i'll have an even less extreme sub in my car chit i am running a 6w0 in my back dash...and i am almost satisfied with that.....almost...lol except some god damn rattling...i have to remove the stock sub amp because i am pretty sure that's what is making the rattles.... wow completely OT sorry, my ADD got the best of me...i should try some ritalin or aderal or whatever you call it lol
  24. lol i just read through this whole thing and this ending all makes sense...oh well BTW i saw Fryman mentions...was here at one point also? i remember him form CSO then he kind of disappeared
