2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 "Classic" - Bass without blowthrough
Hertz huh? Haven't heard too many of their speakers. Actually probably only one set, and that was a long time ago. I'll have to look into them a little bit.

Very nice install and attention to detail. We see a lot of Silverado trucks come through the shop I work at, so it's nice to see other cool tricks with those trucks. I've never done an install with the ZRs, but I've work with the XR 3 ways and those crossovers are larger sized. We do a lot of Focal at our shop too, Very nice speakers.

fixing a JL 1000/1
that was gonna be my next question before i tore it down... i see the big strip is at say the south end... and the next one the strip is on say the north side....on and on... does it matter.! ps: im drunk i hope that came out right. And yes it matters a lot. You have to keep those slashes the same as they were before, otherwise the power supply will not function properly at all.

I don't know what you're trying to say here. Diodes are used because of what they do when they are hooked up the wrong way, block current.

How the hell do I remove my door panels?
I've seen those before. I Forgot about that style actually. If it doesn't lift out, you'll still be able to get the door panel off, just a little more inconvenient.

How the hell do I remove my door panels?
Many doors are like that, but there are also ones that use clips that connect from the door panel right to the frame of the door True That.

How the hell do I remove my door panels?
There aren't clips. they are more like an L type bracket lifts over the door skin all over. You have to pull the door panel straight up as far as possible then outward. If you try to pull out try to pull outwards without pulling the door panel up, you will brek all the brackets and never hold the door on right again.

How the hell do I remove my door panels?
Okay here's how it goes. Your have to pull off the panel on the very top in front of the window. That should pull straight off. There are some variations but usually you have to pull the window controls up from the front and out. Then take off all the plugs. The lever that shows whether or not your doors are locked or unlocked, that pulls out too. Use a panel tool if you have one otherwise a flat head will work. There should be a 7mm or phillips head screw. Pull off the shroud around the door opening lever and I think there is a 10mm bolt. Maybe don't quote me on that. Then under the door handle there is either one or two holes and you should see a bolt in them. After that is all said and done, the whole door panel lifts straight up then out. Pretty easy. It's easier if I had the truck right in front of me. I'm just not posisitve if theres two holes under the door handle or just one and don't remember if anything is behind the shroud over the lever. I think its two under the handle and nothing behind the shroud.

fixing a JL 1000/1
Would that cause burning up of the Diodes? I would imagine that they would engineer an amp to protect itself before blowing out components, but then again there is no type of internal fusing on the 1000/1s...hmm maybe the inverted voltage was too high for the reverse voltage ratings of the diode. Maybe I don't know anything about those power supplies in the JL amps either. Just a thought.

Amazingly EPIC music!
recognized the first from this.

SSA's Daily fitness iHop
Worked in a Humid, blazing Hot install bay all day and sweated the bejesus out of me. Gotta get back into the routine of actually working out again.

Looks like Diodes in the rectifier. Probably a Pretty easy part to find. If not, I would imagine a there would be a alternative since diodes only do one specific thing.

Digital Media Recievers
I have yet to see a Pioneer receiver, but I have taken a liking to the Kenwood KIV-BT900. We have one in the store and I've messed around with it and its great. Plus it has bluetooth built in if you're looking for that. But personally, I wouldn't be looking for a Media receiver because quite frankly, I'm not ready to give up my CD player yet. On top of that, these receivers cost just as much as a nice CD player if not more, so I ask why.

2003 VW Passat key parts?
Try a Lock shop. It might still be spendy, but still cheaper than a dealer. ebay is littered with these things. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNCUT-VW-Volkswagen-REMOTE-KEY-SHELL-GOLF-PASSAT-BEETLE-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3f0098d0a7QQitemZ270592954535QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_3282wt_1000

A day in the life of a Car Audio Forum
reminds me of something I saw a long time ago when I was on SIN alot. Tried to find it but couldn't. It was some goofy animation with some audio of a typical ADD noob asking those kind of questions.

BERYLLIUM BMW 323ci.
That install is into the stages of illness but its soo goddamn good.

Most efficient subwoofer available?
I was just looking at those TC subs and was going to mention them, looks like I was beat!

BERYLLIUM BMW 323ci.
That is one of the sickest installs i have ever seen. I was watching the progress a while ago but forgot about it. Gotta check it again!

How can pcb's in amps handle so much current?
Thought so. Nice to see you around these parts! Your knowledge could be used here!
-
Not Hitting Highs
Subs shouldn't play anything but sub bass frequencies, hence the name subwoofer. I don't know the inductance specs on the BTL, but I imagine they would be on the higher side, and if they are, it owuld make it impossible to play past the natural inductance roll off no matter what the Low pass filter settings are.

Glasswolf.....that seems familiar. Were you or are you on CACentral.ent?

How can pcb's in amps handle so much current?
Where you need most power is in your outputs transitors and power supply. The power supply gets power straight from the battery and power wire. The output stage gets power from solid copper rails coming from the power supply and those rails feed the positive and negative parts of the output stage. And since most amps will use multiple output transistors the current is divided between accordingly so the traces can handle the current. I don't know if I am dead on, but close. Anyone else car to elaborate?

lincolns....... all big jons,...
My TC is pretty low miles compared to that. 163k and it runs like a champ. I had a bud with well over 300k! I like the new truck though. Good choice on getting rid of the spinners. I'm with you 100% there. Good luck with the new truck. Hopefully it is just as epic as your town car!
