Even if you do get that 18 in you're car it won't have room to breath. All the air being pushed by the sub won't even make it in the cabin. Actually I have a good example I used to have a 18" bl and my buddy had a 15" bl same power same amp same h/u same everything. He had the 15 in his car while I had my 18 in my Jimmy, his motor cracked on the 15" and I had sold my amp so we built a box for the 18 INSIDE his car. To specs, buuutttt it sounded like complete ass and wasn't as loud as the 15. You know why? Because the sub was being choked it didn't have room to breath.

A sheet is around 36 here in good ol indiana. I've bought about 5 sheets in the last 3 weeks. Lol

2 15's will take just as big of a box as the 18. I'm telling you get 2 12" bl or ssd btl q whatever you prefer and run it of the recomended power do you're big three upgrade batteries and you'll be happy. Just because you heard a 18 in someone elses car and it banged doesn't mean its going to do the same thing in you're grand prix. Trust me and all the other people that said 2 12's. It is you're best bet with getting loud while not having to build a box in you're car.

There is no way you can build a box that is going to just slide in for a 18. Or 2 15's 2 12's or 1 15 would be you're best bet. And I've never heard of type r's being a sq sub. In the right application maybe.

2 12's. You will be happy. More motor strength and almost as much cone area.

I have a 30 gig I've had it for 6 years like 5k songs on it well did but I left it in my car all the time and had a hard case but the one time I took it out of the case the screen cracked. I wasn't to worried about it since it was just for music but about a month ago I hooked it to my radio and went to listen to some music ( lil wayne I believe) and nothing showed up. So I disconected it nothing showed up in the ipod so I rebooted it and still nothing. It basicly deleted everything from itself all my music like 6 years of music that had been downloaded overtime 90 percent of which I can't even remember, plus games that were on there photos and a bunch of movies, every episode of jackass, family guy and some music videos. I still don't know what happened but it pisses me off.

I dnt personally have one but I bought my gf one and other than actually you know what it does seem like a pos now that I think about it. And my ipod classic for som reason deleted everything from itself. And they freeze up all the time. Lol. I see what you are sayin now.

I just buy them to put music on. To me it just seems like evryone has something to bitch about. I mean think about it ten years ago they didn't have touch screens you couldn't put 30000 songs on a device the size of a credit card you couldn't take pics with you're phone or videos. I know technology has came a long way. I just think some people take shit for granted and don't really appreciate what they have...

There's an Ipod fad? Wtf why does it have to be a fad. Its just a device that holds you're music instead of caring 300 cd's around everwhere. Yea they are more popular than most other mp3 player's but the quality is good too. IMO anyway...

Ok so I have a question about my mids and highs. I have the jl 300/4 I'm not sure if I can go active with it or not, and I have the soundstream pcc.6 comp set has the tweeters the 6.5 mids and the x overs. Should I just run passive with the x over or if my amp is capable of going active just go active. I know my h/u only has a 3 band graphic eq so I cannot go go active with it from what I understand. And when I set the amp for the mids and highs what crossover poits should they be at in other words how do I set the amp? I've never really put a front stage in other than just upgrading from stock. So I'm kind of clueless.

You can get a refurb saz1500 from db-r electronics pretty cheap. I don't know if anyone has said anything about that but I'd figure I'd help out.
