4 18" Q's would be pretty dang sick, just depends on exactly what you want, you can def. beat on BTL's harder than Q's, but they won't sound as good. I am getting ready to do two 18" BTL's myself, and will be daily, i came to the decision after some reading, thinking, and a conversation or two with Scott.
  2. Subsonic filter is a must, and that will help improve power handling dramatically, I believe displacement is .19 off the top of my head, but yes it is right on the site... or on the forum under fi products, fi Q
  3. I am really liking the fosgate 3sixty.2, but I will be getting a second one to run a true 3-way setup, because the center rca outputs are mono, not stereo like the h701. of course file management, ease of tuning, and the sweet bluetooth features make it awesome!!
  4. tuning those subs that low will only cause you to lose out on some output, try tuning closer to like 33 hz, you'd be amazed how low 33 hz, hardly any songs out there even hit below 35-36, the smaller the ported box, the larger the output, but less musical, the larger the box, the more musical.
  5. how close will the output numbers be on of these compared to two strapped 3000d's, just trying to think on a efficiency level, if under 1k difference, I think less electrical would be needed to run one of these compared to two 3000d's. so basically, I know hard to say, but what do you think the efficiency difference would be?
  6. Remember that's a custom woofer, so they have to receive the order, build it, then ship it. and I'm sure they're still backed up from SBN. oh yes, and they're getting ready for the shipping of the new BTL. Give them a few extra days.
  7. Like the vids man, love the fact that the stereo is probably worth same as car! LOL, and I'm sure it slams xmax is awesome on the havocs, gotta love those deep notes!! try Young Jeezy- White Girl, system will probably go nuts to that!
  8. could also do db drag, my next build will be for db drag and bass race.
  9. The BP power option stiffens the suspension on the Q, and increases the power handling. Of course by doing that, the woofer will not do the same in a sealed enclosure unless broken in... I say do one 3000d, and then if not loud enough for you, get a second and strap them, but be very careful on the Q's, as that is definitely too much power, but at least lets you then upgrade woofers to fully loaded BL's or something.
  10. will the q's have the BP power option? Remember, it's all about getting the woofers to move. one 3000d will easily push all 4 q's, that thing was ran through some pretty rugged testing, and at 10.75 volts it was still pushing 3275 watts of power. and that's still at inaudible THD, and over 60% efficiency AT THAT VOLTAGE!! And nice thing about sundown is that in future if you upgrade, you can strap the amps.
  11. you're in Florida? nice...not with the tahoe I presume...
  12. Just to clarify, the power, ground, and remote wires are hooked up normal on strapped amps, nothing different, and the gain/freq/filter settings on slave amp do not matter, becuase it gets all of that information from the master amp via the rca cables...
  13. Not bad, like the setup vid could be better, but I still like
  14. oh sorry, def. like the setup though, looks sick, and can't imagine what it will do on two 3000d's.
  15. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't having two magnets that close together take away some of the woofers Qts, or ability to bring the woofer back to original position, making it sound not as "tight" ?? In person it may not be as bad as what I am seeing, but from the pics it just looks that way.
  16. This is actually a good subject, and if it doesn't have one already deserves its own thread. I can tell you all that the Mayhem is for sure a fully loaded BTL (the one that is available now not the new one) I was told this in person by Scott Atwell himself MY TAKE ON THE REST IS...with a few words from Scott again...but not verbatim... The havoc is a Q with somewhat of BP power option, the suspension is slighty different which is why box design will vary, otherwise same woofer. Chaos and SSD again, almost same thing but small difference in suspension which is why boxes would vary.
  17. Q's actually move more air than any other line, they just don't handle the same amount of power. It is an SQ woofer. If only sticking to that one amp, I'd say get 4 12" Q's and seal them, port if you want, but sealed would be awesome SQ, and if you do sealed do not get the BP power option, it will stiffen the suspension too much, if you do ported get the BP power option so that you can wang on them a little harder. IMO 4 12" off that RF4000.1 is the way to go, You will be amazed what you will be able to do, and I would def. say hairtricks would be accomplished with ease, just build a good box. oh yes I suppose I should explain why Q's move more air, they have a larger Xmax, so 4 12's which would give you more cone area, and Q's which have the 27 mm xmax will def. move more air off the same power as 2 15" BTL's. no question about it.
  18. Fully loaded BL's, more cone area to move more air, and a fully loaded BL has better SQ than a BTL. Either way, two rf4000.1 will be able to push either setup quite hard.
  19. clips are only used to keep it from flapping, on escalades it should hang on the metal working similar to how TV wall mounts work.

abslutely disgusting, and damn that last chick in that last vid was bangin. I can tell you all who watch those vids that nothing compares to sitting in that van. I sat it in with the SSD's, and then this past weekend with the Ascendant's and wow, from across the exhibit showroom people listening to other vehicles were turning their heads to see where all the noise was coming from. AA show stoppin at SBN!! very nice!! And def. moving more air than anyone else out there!! NICE JOB LIL JON!!
  21. the "old BTL" released in 2006 should never be a disappointment to see in the mail, no matter what else comes out!
  22. will the new BTL be more or less musical then the old one? and how will the qts compare? will it still have the great strenth the old BTL has to keep itself under control??
  23. not bad, but to be pefectly honest I like to see much lower tones than that to earn bragging rights. still great job!
  24. these are a little underrated, and on sale since the new line is coming out... awesome amps and a great buy! http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=3195 for something new I would do that, if not then do either one sundown 3000d refurb, or two 1500d's strapped.
  25. agreed, yes you're right, galamonkey is the one doing 24 woofers, but no offense to him, IMO his builds are not the same quality. not saying I don't love what he does! SBN SHOULD BE SOOO SICK!!! WOOT WOOT!!! JUST A FEW MORE HOURS AND I'M THERE!! oh yes, and I guess i'll sit in that, although the SSD astro was pretty dang insane
