from what it sounds like, the BL will far exceed your expectations. just remember it is very install reliant.

yes brooksie that is no bass, 130 db come on!! lol jk i'm sure i'd think it sounds lovely. The BL has the same sound quality potential as a Q in a ported enclosure, but in sealed, then no def. not as accurate. for someone who isn't huge on systems, and you want something to slam, then the BL is definitely the way to go. get a couple custom options, and you will be able to beat on it all day with that 1500d, (which is underrated btw). I am very critical of sound quality, and it does good enough for me, just remember it's very install reliant, if the box is shotty, the woofer will sound shotty.

yes, but in my setup the 3000d will only be at 1 ohm, so it will be a lot more efficient, of course I'll have a lot more speaker amps as well....hmmmm thanks for the input, looks like iraggi 240 on top of stock alty, and now 3 hc2000's in back. Anyone else running a 3000d, what other amps and what electrical upgrades??

yes, i figured the fuse ratings add up to 900, so I should be ready for about 40% of that? oh yes it's 4- 100.2's and 4-100.4's I'm thinking to do a 240 amp iraggi alty, possbly in addition to the stock alty, just got to see how much it would cost me for someone to do that for me. That way the idle amperage wouldn't be too bad either. Starting batt will be a kinetik hc1400, with two hc2000's in the back. I just hope that's enough, cause if it isn't My budget will be pushing it. The 3000d i think i can handle, just trying to figure out how much power the speaker amps will pull since i've never used that many before. thanks for replies matt

First of all, hello my name is Matt, and after a bit of reading and so much awesome feedback on sundown audio amps, I want to try them out in my next build. I ask a lot of questions, but seem to answer a lot as well. Anyway, my question is this... how much power do these amps pull from the electrical system of a vehicle when under ~full load (1 ohm for 3000d, and others bridged) Just trying to figure out exactly what kind of electrical upgrades will be necessary. Although pricey, 1" Balsa works great, other than that, is this a fully loaded BTL on like 4kw? if so then I'd recommend double layer 3/4 over single 1" any day. 3/4 is much easier to work with and easier on the saws. You have to take things like that into consideration. Double wall 3/4 then throw a brace or two in there and you should be set!!

yes, as much that went into the W7 and as much as they cost, never heard one yet that did anything close, SQ, or SPL wise to my Q15. When my Q15 was ported (on a RF p1000-1 mind you) i walked over L7's and W7's all day. And still sounded great, Now sealed, I like the sound of myQ better than any W7 i've ever heard. But like they said it depends a lot on install. Many people buy JL and expect the world, but do crappy install. JL makes good woofers, Only reason I hate JL audio and can't stand the company is because they brag about all their technology and innovations and how no one can do what they do, yet many do more then what they do for a lot less. Money aside, they are all great woofers it's all install and how much you want to spend.

I read on the sundown forum that when they tested a 3000D, it still pushed 3200 watts pretty cleanly at 10.75 volts, IMO that's pretty damn impressive, i'd say that amp is capable to do a lot more than 3200 watts at 1 ohm.

do dual 1 and wire to 2 ohms. if you wire that amp to 1 ohm it will absolutely drain your electrical, not saying you shouldn't upgrade anyways. But from past experience that amp runs best at ~2 ohms more than ~1 ohm.
