my only experience with unions has been what i've heard from my dad. he's kind of an interesting guy in terms of politics, he would probably agree with alot of the opinions made by M5 (socially liberal,fiscal conservative) but less educated haha... besides being an active union member. i cant put a number on it but i would have to say his experience with the union has been a bit more positive then yours. i wont go into details and shit but it seems personal opinions/observations are sometime a bit more subjective. The liberal media has a way of helping young undecideds lean the wrong way. angels and demons dancing in my head lunatics and monsters underneath my bed media messiahs preying on my fears pop culture prophets playing in my ears

Unions have historically been a good thing, and are still necessary in a few labor markets; for the most part, however, they tend to become greedy and self serving. The NFL Player's Union, for instance, gets a nickel for every dollar consumers and other businesses spend on any item that contains a trademark or copyright owned by either the NFL or the 32 teams that make up the league. That is on top of ludicrously high salary floors and guaranteed medical coverage for the rest of the player's life. The UAW (not sure if this is true anymore) had semi-skilled laborers on assembly lines making something like 90k a year, including benefits.

mostly fan noise; I have an 80mm 50 CFM/45 dBA fan on my CPU, loud little fucker. Of course if I just upgraded the machine and got one of those low speed 120 mm CPU fans that would probably take care of things right quick Better quality case fans would help too.
