  1. For that price yes. Unless you get something used. I think your son and his friends would be more impressed with a 15" sub anyways. It is rare to find teenagers that are into smaller subs. Its the wow factor of having such a big subwoofer. But a 15 Fi SSD is a great choice. I don't think its under 150 though.
  2. hehe, .3 cubes is nothing. I would do 7 at least if you have the room.
  3. did you click on the link I posted? I think that link needs to be a sticky for all newbs. But you can also wire it to .5 ohm but I wouldn't advise it. Its not bad to have to wire it at 2 ohms but you should have gotten dual 2 ohms instead to get your moneys worth on that amp. If you were planning on getting another 18" Q then dual 1s wired for two subs would be 1 ohm.
  4. You know that with a dual 1 ohm Q, you can only wire it to 2 ohms to that amp right? http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=1&I=12 Fi recommends 6 cubes as the lowest volume for a ported box. What is the volume of the space you have for the sub box? I would go largest you can go or largest you want to go and see if a ported box can fit there or not. If not then you have to go sealed.
  5. what amp do you have and what do you mean the specs are not specific enough? its a sealed box. Plus how much is the local place charging for a sealed box?
  6. If you're bias already then you would think that you heard a difference. Shizzzon, hurry the hell up and get your probes for your oscope.
  7. He has two batteries mounted on a layer above the amps. It would be hard to even try to steal them lol.
  8. I got a friend with a hifonics Bxi1608 amp. I'll try to get that to a meet up to get it tested.
  9. 3000 watts. Man, give me 15 mins. I am going to take a picture and post it. I keep forgetting.
  10. Did you check out the voltage on the battery when things cut off? And so you have two batteries in the trunk, a stock and a kinetik?
  11. Hehe, I know someone with an audiopipe 3000 that switched the power and ground twice and it didn't die. The same amp was ran for 5 months. It was only screwed down to the floor once for a competition with one screw. During a testing day, the amp was just placed on the top of the box for burps with a notepad between the amp and the top of the box. Reliability...
  12. its a 2 channel bridged amp. two 1500d amps inside it. I don't understand how hard it is to flip the amp over and get the actual wiring diagram for the amp on the back of it. I'll post up a picture of it.
  13. what is actually making the rattle? If its two hard materials rattling against each other, putting something that is also hard on them would not make them stop rattling. Close cell foam works for those situations. Can you get pictures for more detail of what you are talking about?

  15. Well 1, he is using a 500 watt amp which is half the power handling of that sub, and 2, its called a gain knob. You don't have to have it up much. A more efficient box allows him to be able to turn it up when he wants or turn it down.
  16. It depends what you want to do with the products.
  17. I guess you will be watching blueray too right? I don't know if its a user error or not but this doesn't sound good, http://reviews.cnet.com/av-receivers/harman-kardon-avr-247/4864-6466_7-32445662-1.html?ord=creationDate+desc&tag=txt;uo
  18. I think it may the cheapest route, cost-wise, for you to go.
  19. How big is the room? I think that with it being place against a wall, you will get more bass output. If you have a smaller built sub and box try putting it under the table and switch directions and then getting an spl meter (radio shack meter, that is all you need for this and it is about 20 dollars I think) if you want more output for the power. Test and see with the meter at your sitting area which orientation is the loudest. Also, what game system, media device, peripheral devices, etc? Comeon details man. lol. That sub and that tuning with that size box is going to be beast especially if that room is as small as I think it looks like. O and I checked your numbers under the table and it looks like you have about 17 cubes to work with before sub, port, and bracing displacement. info on your port size?
  20. What the hell are you talking about, every site that I look up an Hifonics amp is says it does the 2000 x 1 @ 1ohm for the Brutus 2010: Hifonics Amp Yeah man stop making this so hard, just find an amp that does what you want it do at 2 ohms and fits into your budget. If your stuck on Hifonics amps then check out the BXI-2010 or 2610, those will fit your needs. You need to do your Big 3 Wiring if you havent done so and get you a secondary battery for you amp. ARG sorry... but at this link http://vminnovations.com/product_1272/HIFONICS_BRUTUS_BXi2010D_2000W_Mono_Amplifier.html they rate the amp at those ratings.. Yes i will do my big 3 upgrade here in the spring I dont see a real reason to do so yet As winter is coming and i wont be bumping when their is ice on my Truck. Sorry for making it diffacult Im just trying to figure it out so I know exactly what i am doing so i can do it right the 2nd time and not Shoot for a 3rd. call or email the company about the ad. They will let you know for sure. Don't be afraid of this company because of one misprint. I have bought from them many times from cell phones to amps. ap1500d. I did however, buy through their ebay store but it would be stupid to have weaker customer service on their main site. With you needing a 2 ohm load, it may be better to look at some kicker or rockford amps on ebay or something because most of them will output max RMS power at 2 ohms instead of 1 ohm, if 2 ohms is what you need. I skipped through some posts .
