  1. Everything is installed. The only thing we are waiting on is the pocket fill on top of the deck. We first had the speakers facing the trunk opening but it didn't sound as loud as he wanted so we flipped it around to face the back of the rear seats and its a lot louder. The deck is kinda hard to figure out at first but its easier now that I got a grip on it. It has a lot of features for being kinda cheap. Also, we made a little square hole for the rear usb connector right on one of the blocks next to the AC controls for better connecting and removing of a USB drive. I just need to fix up some paint spots on the front baffle and the corners. I'll get some pictures when I see him later today.
  2. Man, I hope I can do that much with my trunk set-up.
  3. box is done. the only left is deck to be installed and run all the wires to connect amp. I hope to finish everything by next week and start my own build as well.
  4. seriously I don't see him post anywhere else or for any other reason. I think he has a bot doing it for him and he has been without internet this whole time.
  5. If this was over at the CA forum, you would not see any advice and people would just laugh at you. It does make me want to laugh tho.
  6. how many are you going to run and for what application?
  7. Wait are the E8s going to be E12s as in size 8 to size 12?
  8. I should have corners rounded and the box completely sanded and primed maybe 2 times and the deeper depth white painted today.
  9. A Kenwood KDC-MP538U deck is going to be installed. Knu 4 gauge wires and the BIG 3 will be done in 4 gauge as well. Stock speakers are going to be kept. Sub box is 2.5 cubes net tuned to 32hz. User will be playing all types of music and this is for a daily set-up.
  10. nice. that port is huge. Your building that inside the car right? Or are you going to build in three pieces? Thats going to be loud. It sounds like the most versatile is the SSDs.
  11. Awesome ant. O and nice looking equipment too.
  12. I used to play the drums. I wished I was actually good at it though. Welcome to the board.
  13. That was what I was about to say. I know him and everything he does is on par with the best. Ask him about them. He will hook you up.
  14. I thought originally the OP wanted to get 1 subwoofer?
  15. I can only see one cranky person...and that is you. x2
  16. From what you want, it sounds like the BL is better if you're going the Fi route.
  17. like a regular speaker? lol.
  18. Every needs to watch out for the SSDs. There will be another build with two 10" SSDs as well. Somewhat of the same box design as shizzzon's.
  19. i hate people with spacious trunks. nice subs. who built them?
  20. nice. Now make it go boom.
  21. nice box. simple and clean.
  22. dude, have you been reading the thread at all? I hate you sundown, now I want some new e8s.
  23. Don't forget about port noise. Try to keep the rear air velocity under 22 m/s. I am going to go out and say that you will be disappointed in one of the areas you are looking for. Either it be movies/games or music, you will only like one or the other with this budget build. I say build the sub for more of music use (about 20-30hz) and then get some bass shakers for the movies/games. You should be set with that. This will give you more of the "SPL" you want for music and give you the "in movies/games" experience. I don't know if this will be in the $400 budget but you will be more happy with the set-up... or at least I would.
  24. You left out so much info. its going to be hard as hell helping when we are just stuck wondering.
