And your right Sean, I do tinker with my car a lot...but more on the SPL side rather than the SQ side. But bare with me, I want to learn a little bit about SQ. What in your honest opinion would outdo the DD's? I only paid $75 for the complete component set brand new from a friend sealed in the box due to him going a different way. I'm still reading up on the active setup, that you speak of. Bear with me, SQ is new to me, but next season, I want to participate in SQ as well as SPL. I like to enjoy my music, but not at 155-160dB.. and the Treo 6.5" mids and Infinity 1" tweets that are in the car do not cut it for me...after I get about past volume 22, the tweets do not blend well and sort of distort. I want something that I can play volumes 25-26, be super clean on sound, with the sub blended way down. I've got a Soundstream 480.4 sitting here that I'm going to run the set off of..but like you say Sean, I do not need a component set or should I run it off the headunit? I'm just looking for the best possible scenario to sound good without adding 50 tweeters to my car.. Thanks for your replies, have been much helpful.

Got my attention... Will it be musical? 4 inch voicecoil ? VC options? I'd love a Quad 1-ohm...if not then Dual 1's. When will they be available if so? Ballpark figure in price yet? I'm interested.... I have the XXX, but a nice Sundown sub would be nice too..

Now bear with me ///M5, I know I have the Alpine 9887...but why do I not need components? I'm still learning....I wanna be a SPL nut on the weekend...then during the week, blend the sub way down...and have a little bit of SQ...for every day purposes..I don't wanna listen to 155dB daily... The factory locations for my 6.5"s are in the doors, and the factory locations for the tweeters are on the A-Pillar..Now I currently have Treo 6.5's and some Infinity tweeters installed, but they aren't very clean sounding...the tweeters are too high pitched for me, and even messing with the x-overs and stuff, they don't do what I want. I'm going to sound deaden the doors as well... I just want something that will not distort and sound good...where I can enjoy my music, rather than enjoying JUST the subwoofer. Sorry for the vague descriptions but I do not know any other way to explain.

I ended up getting a good deal on the Digital Designs component set today so I bought them. 6.5" Mids along with the tweeters, and all x-overs. My question being, does any here have experience with them...how do they perform...and what are your opinions on them? I'd like to get some other peoples opinions on them... I have a Soundstream 4 channel to push them....and my last question being...as long as I sound deaden the doors, will fitting them in the stock location be sufficient for great sound, or do I need to build pods for them....? It's the first time me and Brian and Cody built something like this. We made a wrong calculation somewhere...but stuff happens and we'll eventually get it right. When we do get ti right though....watch out... Their are always going to bumps in the road...especially when this is the 1st time we have tryed this type of box...But we will go back to the drawing stages and get it right...

Their is a guy here with a pair of the Audioque HDC3 12's...on a pair of Audioque 2200D's strapped with a final ohm load of 1 ohm. It sounds bad ass at 32Hz...I sat in it and was like damn....thats a pair of 12's... ??? They are massive to say the least....I don't too much care for the plain AQ dustcaps though...my opinion though.. Everyone around here talks them up, and they seem to have a good reputation on here..

Just buy a Kinetik or Optima an put it near the amplifier and you should be fine...

I got my 3rd SAZ 3000D ordered yesterday Brian...Should have it by Friday..... I'm going to try and add both Kinetiks to the HC2000 and go out and play 1 last time this weekend before I give you the SPLX. After that I'm going to tear apart the car and start over... Run all new wire and everything...the whole 9 yards... Can't wait to get the T-Shirts and Tank Tops...

Man...I'm a Team Sundown member.... If I didnt just get the Soundstream 15" XXX, I'd be all over this Nightshade... Whats the power specs on it? Would it take 2 3000D's daily?

That Infinity perfect 10, will take that amp just fine.... Just keep the gains true and dont run it full tilt all the time.

Keep your gains conservative and you should be fine.. If you ever smell the VC starting to stink, then just back off on the gain...

I ran these amps @ 0.5 ohm impedances for burps and daily driving...my SS SPL-X loved it. After impedance rise though, it rose. I never had a problem running them at 0.5 ohm per amp.. I burped a 151.3 on a SoundStream SPLX Quad 1 ohm, @ 1/2 gain with 2 1500D's strapped. I know it isn't ideal but the sub loved it.

Not sure if this is the right section for this, but I don't know where else to put it. *****or w/e his screen handle is...does anyone know him? I sent him $145 for a Kinetik last Thursday and he called me on Monday to say he'd recieved the MO I sent him. I saw he has a ton of references on CA.com so I figured he was ok to buy from.. Its been 2 days, I haven't heard from this guy...and he wont return messages or phone calls. Now I have $145 wrapped up in this guy with nothing to show for it... I'm going to be running about the same thing. 2 SAZ 3000D's and a 200 amp alternator. I'm putting a Kinetik 1400 up front, and 3 Kinetik 2000's in the back with about 10 runs of power and grounsd from the front. Like Adrian said, never hurts to have more current.. I would think though, the single 2400 and a 1400 like Adrian said though would work. But I always overkill everything, but thats just me...

Dual 2 like John said, and then when you add another amp, you can run 1 to each voicecoil. I've run my strapped 1500D Sundowns at 0.5 a piece and 0.25 ohm a piece, and they take it daily. Or at least they do for me....just keep your gains true...and don't go nuts with it... With the proper voltage, which I have...I'm seeing roughly 4000-5000 watts for the pair. With the sub wired to 1, I had each amp at 0.5 ohm, and was seeing 4500+ watts out of them strapped master and slave.. They are nice amps, and I'll run them for life..I'm upgrading to a pair of 3000D's now.... Hope your happy with yours, and goodluck with the BTL, I heard a 15" BTL and it was pretty crazy on an Orion 2500D...

Looks like Ohio Gen carries 200+ amp alternators for Chrysler's with the 3.0L Mitsubishi motor like mine!! If tearing the streets up with 151.3 dB on a single 12", then I'm doing something! I hope to have the car ready for finals in November....and I'm shooting for 155+ on a single 15"... But I need a new alt first..

I sent them a couple emails about a week ago, no reply. I also called them today twice. Both times a avoicemail came on and said that the phones were temporairly down, try back later. The way I'm pounding on this alternator it may not last, and I need to find an Alt thats got more than 165 Amps at 2000 rpm.. Anyone else out there you reccomend?

I need to replace the Alternator on my Sebring. Does anyone kow of any good companies to use.. I've contacted LOAD BOSS, they only sell 1 and its only 165 Amps. Excessive Amperage, I cannot get ahold of... & Dom Iraggi I have not heard a ton of good things about. Do you have any other suggestions? Would Powermaster Alts be a good place to look? Thanks for anyones help. I need the ALT replaced soon, I think its about to poop on me...

Very nice, mine are the older heat sinks. That's ok, my new 3000D's will have those newer heat sinks. I love the new design it looks great. Congrats on your 1500.
